Depends when the patch actually goes up for download. If I remember rightly it is fairly large, so if it only pops up at 9, by the time a lot of people get done patching, it might be a liddle late.

You know what?
I can't even agree to the EULA...
Am I in a fit mental state to do so?
I dunno sometimes I think I must be mad, since I don't have a psychologist report stating I'm sane, can I prove that I'm fit enough to agree to the EULA? Will Paragon pay for an evaulation? -

Quote:A deperately unsubtle attempt by him to hide his true feelings for Charles - although he might also be unwilling to make a move and disrupt the Charles/Magneto relationship, in case he finds himself in a love triangle.
Woah woah woah.
No.
Wolverine has two Fetishes
1; He loves them red heads.
2; He loves them teenage girls. -
Retcon will have some 0 hour - fiction.
As for the Union, while 40-50 level stuff could be regaurded as happening right now/near future... Galaxy city is gone, it's totally gone, it will not be there post Tuesdy. -
Quote:You play CoH, you post a lot on one of the hacking boards out there, and while there you conspire to some hack/crack/griefing action with other members. Private investigators with contracts for many/most of the big titles there tip off NCSoft, who ban/block your account before you ever do anything on THEIR turf.
You see that I can't agree with, punishment without any 'action' to trigger it?
Isn't that just thought crime? -
Quote:IMO offering a lifetime subscription says to me that developers don't have faith in the longevity of their product.
A lifetime sub is effectively a bet of how long the game (and/or the players interest) will last. The only way for the publisher to come out ahead is if the player gets bored and quits or the game shuts down before they would have subscribed long enough to be more than the cost of the lifetime sub.
Seems like a bad idea to put yourself in the position where you WANT people to quit.
On the other hand it is a nice way to buy some breathing time, you have to remember that for the first month of an MMO's life, they get next to nothing from their sales. Most of the money from the box is eaten up by the retailer and the publisher, and your players haven't given you any subscription money yet, since they are still on their 'free' month.
Offering Life time subscriptions for a limited time at launch, is a way of getting some money while people haven't started paying you yet.
Edit:
The first Dev Defense Force member, who uses the excuse 'It's free to play so shut up!' for any future problems, earns a steel toe cap boot up the jacksie -

{NCSoft} You must agree that you are mentally competent
{Ragequitter} WHY I'VE NEVER BEEN SO INSULTED *FROTH*FROTH*RRAARR*FROTH*FROTH*SPIT*FROTH*
{NCSoft} Case made.
/e waits for the first court case involving an austic player, and their parents trying to get back a couple of hundred dollars.
{NCSoft} He said he was mentally competent.
{Lawyer} Two weeks before that he said he was a pair of curtains. -
The EULA ranges from uneforciable, to technically commiting crimes, depending where in the EU you live.
That's what happens when you try to cover all angles. -
I sort of have a problem with the Rewards myself. Come Freedom I'll have to fill in an entire tier of tempaoary rewards (sig pets, insp etc) before I can start getting stuff I'd actually ever use again.

Quote:Except that the auction house has it's own entry on the chart that also says limited.
Limited could mean you can't buy them from ingame means, only through the store.
Limited could mean you don't get acess to purple recipes, or a limited selection of recipes.
Limitied could also mean you don't get set bonouses.
I'd honestly say, greying them out and having them not function, isn't limiting your access at all, it's giving no access. -
-
I can see them adding some sort of permanment IO system access in the Store, if only for when the inevitable none V.I.Ps purchase IO's through the Paragon store, only to not be able to use them and send in complaints/demands to be re-embursed occurs.

Quote:But Freedom IS coming.
The argument that 'what if Freedom didn't happen' is getting reused all of the time. And its pointless. Freedom is coming and obviously the game needs it to survive or it wouldn't be happening.
By entering the F2P arena CoH is competing with a lot of games for cash, its also competing with the subscription games. It needs to actually be able to get money from people, and honestly I've seen very little that would warrant me spending money on this game when there are several premium MMOs being released in the next year or so.
To be fair other than the 'real world with aliens and monsters' game, all the others look to be themed clones. -
Apesman from monkey Earth?

Quote:I'm kinda hoping they're going to spring some kind of surprise "meteor attack" event on us, but I'm fully expecting everything to be just presented as having happened and that we heroes did zip to try to stop any of it.
My bet is some sort of teleporting metors, so they shouldn't of hit but then suddenly they are blazing through the sky two seconds from impact.
Edit to add:
Or they are like the rocks thrown using Hurl, and they hunt their target down like heat seeking missiles. -

Preatoria is a good concept let down by some massive game play flaws, the enemies are over powered (Seriously Destroyers WTF?) and there are constant ambushes that essentially neuter one AT.
I'm looking forward to Freedom, it'll make it a lot quicker to play a villain AT hero side. I never want to go through Preatoria again. -
Big thanks to Kallandra for arranging things. Nice to put faces to names and so on.

*Rolls around on the floor*
Excited yet?
I know I am. -
And that nuke was much more powerful than the hiroshima one, since it caused a global EM burst that dropped planes from the sky and broke everything electric.

Quote:Looking online you have the choice of either changing at Nottingham, or at Sheffield. Changing at Nottingham seems to give you slightly more time between changes depending on what time you're travelling.
Which day are you planning on going down?
Going via sheffield.
