...it is also true that Blasters are by far the LEAST favored AT in hero side, even less than scrappers (by their very nature, the solo-friendly class)... The blaster is only invited as the fifth character, if he's lucky.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Not too sure about this. I was on the other weekend looking to form a team and between level 15-36, blasters outnumbered all the other ATs, put together! Although you're right about unfavoured when teaming: none of them got invited (I was perhaps trying to max my cosmic balance bonus a little )
My perception of blasters (at least lower level ones, in PvE) is that they are the most likely toon to get killed unnecessarily and/or cause a teamwipe by over aggroing; scrappers do the latter, but generally hold the aggro by not doing the former. Can't really talk about Villain side, never seem to team over there as it's frustratingly difficult to get a well meshed team out of the villain ATs, or perhaps I just don't know how to play 'em.

    Mace changes

    [ QUOTE ]
They could just for mace and axe remove the draw times on the ST attacks and add the draw period to the recharge period. Increase the time before all weapons get put away by themselves and change the powers that pointlessly require weapons to be put away.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Problem is, this would require rather a lot of animation work. What do you mean " add the draw period to the recharge"? Make the draw instant and slow the recharge? Weapon redraw is an awe-inspiring pain, have to admit; can't see myself revisiting my AR characters even if they get shiny looking weapons.

Then give Mace and Axe to Brutes whom they are more conceptually suited for.

    Totally agree with this

My thought was that the debuff would go some way to reducing the S/L resistance problem.

    Mace changes

I was just thinking: a mace is a heavy, slow weapon. Historically, it was used to smash through the armour of knights etc.

How about mace being modified to be something along those lines?

I was thinking slow, quite damaging attacks with a resistance or defence debuff, complemented by faster attacks with stuns. This might, y'know, make mace a viable choice for a tank. Might also make it worthwhile beating an AV rather than just taunting him/her/it

Wrong board, but this would also be great for brutes, except the debuffs would make them tank killers. So shh.

    Any thoughts?
  5. Looks suspiciously like my build! I'd definitely take taunt if you want to team tank - it's auto-hit, zero endurance and will actually take aggro away from a blapper; this is hard to do with attacks alone.

As above, I'd probably drop acrobatics in favour of an earlier hasten - getting your heal up more often is how a F/F survives big mobs. Slot KB IOs, I got one in CJ and one in Fire Shield. Burn is still a useful power, took it as my L49, miss it when i exemp. Having the mobs run away and come back can be excellent damage mitigation, also works great teaming with anyone with an AoE immob - Earth trollers are your friends!

I've just respecced into the Fire Epic set, dropping weave, build up and acrobatics to get them. Fire ball is fun, but the others seem like a bit of a waste of time. Thinking i might use my 9 month freespec to get build up back, maybe dropping burn. Or maybe get ROTP, cos it looks cool.
  6. Slot with whatever you can, don't hold out for IOs, I keep making that mistake. One decent piece of salvage sold can fill all your slots with DO's/SO's, no need to be miserly.

whereas the Peacebringer is more of a Blaster/Scrapper role.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Or as they are sometimes know, a PeaceBlapper
The above is really excellent fun, especially when get the massive +damage from a team full of tanks and defenders (nearly always try to set my own team up for this purpose) however frustratingly underpowered when teaming with blasters and scrappers.
  8. I have a Steadfast and a Karma on my fire tank, mostly it's ok. Get KB'd occasionally; fighting the pretorian AV with the force bolt / phase shift (Mother Mayhem?) I spent my whole time on my [censored], ended up positioning myself with my back in a corner so i wouldn't fly too far away.
  9. Yes please - Burning Seraph 50 fire/fire tank

    Comedy Builds

Erm, I once had a fire / fire tank with Super Speed travel power (got slapped around a lot), Flurry (as an actual key attack - it was slotted), aid other (was planning on taking aid self) no stamina, few slots in anything that wasn't fire sword...Nightmarer and co pointed out some of these mistakes, whereupon I respecced to pretty decent powers, but with slots all wrong (5 damage in everything etc etc) due to the pre-ED guide i had read. Finally got it right about Level 43 i think.

That said, I never took temperature protection and I've seen a couple of Fire/ with it recently. I try to explain gently and point them towards the guides.
  11. Sorry, I have just remembered that I am going to a wedding that weekend, so Seraph will not be there! Shame cos i really enjoyed the last one - thanks guys!
  12. Hasten is definitely necessary, you have 3 click heals (assuming you take Dwarf form) which are obviously very useful in improving survival; it really helps your aggro output in Dwarf too - important if you want to tank for teams.
Conserve power I have also found to be very useful (even with stamina taken at 22) because Dwarf form takes a LOT of attacks to kill stuff, even when you slot the attacks.
Also, always team with as many tanks / trollers and defs as possible, the damage buff from the tanks/defs is awesome and trollers make you (slightly) less prone to being mezzed.

Does anyone have a bind for selecting voids etc? I use target_custom_next (void/quant...) but this selects their just defeated bodies too, which is a bit annoying Important to go with this are some Kheld whining binds (tm) so you can squeal for help from teammates when you spot one I would suggest "team AAAAAH, I've seen a $target and will be cowering in a corner until it is dead!"
  13. I am having some trouble with CoH, will be maybe 5 mins late
  14. Cool, thanks, was a little worried you were looking for an Invuln / Fire tank! Will be on hand for all your minion steamrolling needs.
  15. I'd like to come along, if the slot's still available!
  16. Burning Seraph is a L50 Fire / Fire tank, no EPP.

Must be tough keeping that list up to date!
  17. Thankyou all for helping me on the way, rezzing me when I over-reached and for teaching me how to play.

    Crazy SG idea?

Little John Little is up for the TF, just need to level so I can get tankin!

    The Whispering Bow?

Merry Messenger would work for me too!
