I'll be working on transforming this into a podcast, as well as writing a transcript for it since y'all want that. Just remember... There was a lot of talking, two and a half hours worth. So it may take a bit of time.

So, yes yes. There ya are.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Or if you leave out the *giggle, giggle* and the "BADGES!" its only 25mins and easier to transcribe.
  2. *covers eyes*

If I don't see it, it isn't real.
  3. I would like to add one thing.

Lusca is up, she is always up.

    Please stop annoucing it.

    Etiquette question:

Are the fires and raves considered too insignifcant to announce on Protector Watch?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Nope, still lots of folks that want the badges or just to roast some marshmellows.

Sorry that I haven't read the bajillion posts, but...are there any plans to get apartments into the game any time soon? Or is it just Soon(tm)?

Not a complaint, mind you, just curious. I'm a one man show, so anything beyond the first free room of a regular base is pretty much beyond me. And I'm not interested in IoP or base raids...just a clean, well-lighted place.

I have a one person SG, just to see how much prestige I could get, etc.

I have over 500k prestige saved up just from regular playing of one alt. Since it only costs 130k to get set up with the basics according to Positron if you wanted your own personal locker you could just do that. Make your own SG with an alt and store your things there for the time being.

And Syniq, are you lvl 50 and just got the base? Or are you lvling up now? Cause just by taking an alt from 1-20 in SG mode should get you more than enough prestige to pay for a decent solo base.

Hope that info helps, I know that as a solo SG you won't be able to get a tonne of things but you can certainly turn it into a mini-apartment/storage area until we get something better

    MySpace home.

Anyway, Ish, you gonna join the MySpace yet??

    [/ QUOTE ]

Trust me, you don't wanna let Ish anywhere near your space or your things.

He is the reason that we can't have nice things around the SG HQ.

Someone goes out and buys a mint in box, highly sought after Badge action figure with the kung fu grip. Places said figure in the trophy room and before you can say Boo. Ish is in there, playing with the doll.....err Action Toy and saying things like,

    "You're the greatest Badge!"

"Can I be your hero support?"

    "Will you be my friend?"

Truly sad in it own way but worse for that fact that hes ruined the resale value of it and I have to burn the thing after Ish gets done with it.

Count your blessings that Ish isn't there, cause once you get him. You can't get rid of him.
  7. Its coming, was bugged that it didn't already give it to you.

Will be in the the patch after the next one they put up.

Glad you bumped this...I didn't even see it the first time around. Guessing the contest goes until the end of the month? *Crosses fingers in the hopes she can find time to write something.*

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Contest?

You mean there is a prize for this?

If we can choose what it is I like beer and pie.
  9. ((This is set after a long drawn out battle with the villain. He has be running Badge ragged for a week now and has just gone in for his target.))

This is a pic of the moment before the story starts.

    "Fight for Justice"

The first two bullets tear through the Kevlar like it was paper. Even now I can’t help but analyze the situation. Two shots fired, close range, the gun he’s holding has a 5 shot load. Only three shots left, piece of cake.

The force of the shots spins me around facing the bed of Justice. Sweet little Justice, still as asleep now as when she slipped into the coma 4 years ago. I’m sorry Justice.

Behind me I can hear laughter, mocking me right before he shoots again, this time tearing a hole in my left shoulder. Not much time now, with a wound there I’ll bleed out in 30 minutes if I don’t get medical attention. Good thing I’m already in a hospital. All I have to do is defeat one more guy and I can rest. Sounds easier than it is.

I turn around slowly, trying to draw out the time. This is Paragon City after all. Some super powered hero will come to save the day. All I have to do is keep him occupied until then. That or a cop, but you can never find a good cop when you need one. I smile and laugh at the joke of that.

“What’s so funny, little man?” The Bookkeeper says.

Good, keep him talking, keep his attention on you, keep it away from the girl.

“I said what’s so funny Badge!” He yells the words and echoes his outrage with a shot at my kneecap. The bullet tears through flesh and I collapse on the bed. I can barely keep myself upright but I have to. I can’t fail her again. I look at her one last time, she seems so serene, like a child that is only napping. The pain dulls my vision, cause for a second I could swear I saw her hand move when he fired that last shot. Wishful thinking I tell myself.

Not much time left now, I hear the sirens but know they won’t make it in time. Only one thing left to do, take that last bullet from him.

“My name is Walker” I tell him, and he finally gets the joke.

He laughs, can’t help it. “You’re Detective John Walker? After what you did, after what you helped me do last time you’re trying to stop me from finishing this little runt. Does she even know she’s an orphan? Does she know what you helped do?” He lowers the gun a fraction, he’s stunned. Understandable.

“Tell you what,” he reaches inside his jacket pocket. The suit is old and almost out of style, smells like mothballs. He takes out a bill from his wallet and tosses it on the floor in front of me. “Take your bribe again and leave the room, let me finish what we started and you’ll never see me again.”

I take one last look at sweet little Justice, I’m sorry. I don’t notice her eyes begin to twitch. Her eyelids flutter.

I take what little strength I have left and push myself off the bed and straight towards him. He surprised but only for a moment, I get close before he fires his gun for the last time and I take it straight in the chest.

    My last bribe.

Paid in lead, not in gold.

I grab his head and butt him straight in the nose, dirty fighting but it’s all I have left. I smash into his face with my fist and he goes down. After all, he’s just an accountant. Hardly a street fighter.

When the cops show up they’ll take him back into custody. Now if I can only find a doctor I might actually live to fight again.

I’m standing there, tottering back and forth, striving to keep conscious when it happens.

Behind me on the bed, she wakes up. The last gunshot must have done it. The shock from it finally got to her. She sits bolt upright in her bed, screaming, looking around at the walls. It’s the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen.

I try to stagger over to her bed but my legs give out on the way. I fall to my knees beside it and look at her face, so full of life again, terrified and scared but not sleeping anymore.

“Justice,” I whisper, my voice hoarse and raspy. She turns to me and looks in my eyes with a strange recognition at her name and yet wonders who I am. “I’m sorry”

I touch her cheek with my blood stained gloves, leaving a little crimson mark on her.

Then I fall, I fall beside the bed and let go.

My battle is over, hers is just beginning.

The sirens are close, she’ll be fine.

    Goodbye, Justice.

Bungee, in the post I quote, there is this :

    [ QUOTE ]
You CAN (in the settings) make your supergroup mode costume exactly the same as your normal costume.

    [/ QUOTE ]

with the word exactky and no mention of the chest emblem, if you have to swap your chest emblem, your costume is not exactly the same as your normal costume.

    [/ QUOTE ]

The emblem is the only thing that has to change. And you don't even have to use the SG's colors, if you had colors on that slot.

My scrapper does *not* do the SG colors, but he's always in SG mode if the SG is together. His chest symbol changes from a diamond to the rampant lion.

    That's the only difference.

    [/ QUOTE ]

For some of us that is a major difference. One that we'd rather not have to make in order to qualify for a base.

Yep, I was agreeing with ya.

But I was trying to give the guy a little more detail besides "Not true, that is all"

    [ QUOTE ]
Not sure if its been pointed out, as this will aleviate those who have an SG but don't want to wear SG colors (As opposed to those that don't have a Supergroup)

You CAN (in the settings) make your supergroup mode costume exactly the same as your normal costume. It does allow you to default to the color it already is.

    That is all, thank you

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Not true.

    That is all.

    Thank you.

    [/ QUOTE ]

If I'm not mistaken you can keep your colors the same as you normally wear, any symbols you have will be replaced by the SG one.

Like I said with my Superman example, his Red S becomes a Red JLA and him and the spanky green Batman with the JLA symbol on his chest go off to fight crime and pay for the Watch Tower
  13. I just thought I would add my two cents in.

I think that the idea of having prestige pay for Sg bases is kinda useless only for the fact that in order to do so, we have to change our costumes.

When have you ever seen Superman trade in his Red S for a JLA chest symbol?

Or Batman swap his black cape and cowl for a spiffy bright green motif with matching belt buckle and JLA com badge?

You don't. And you don't because even though they are part of a Supergroup they are still individal heroes.

They save the world every day, just like us, as a team but they don't all gather at the Watch Tower before a battle and color coordinate themselves.

My name is Badge. People see my chest symbol and know its me. I get tells saying how cool it is, that my back story, outfit etc all mesh well together.

I am one of the leaders of The Saints. I love my Sg. I have spent over 1500 hours fighting crime in this city, much of it with my Sg. I have done all the TF's many times. I have collected almost every badge there is. And I have done it all without ever turning on Sg mode.

So that means that according your new system all that work was for naught.

All those times I hung out with my Sg friends and enjoy their company was wasted.

All those hours I spent keeping this city safe, won't matter a bit.

And all the money I saved, so that I could pay for my Sg's base is useless.

I have enough inf right now, to pay for every enhancement my SG members will ever need.

And enough to outfit them with all new uniforms for every costume slot they have, that they can NEVER use if they want to get Prestige and help get us our base.

So, my questions to the Devs are these:

    1) Why are you taking away from your fabulous character creation system by penalzing us for not wearing a standard uniform?

    2) What is inf. good for? And don't say costumes or enhancements since any person past lvl 30 has enough for both and new costumes are no longer an added benifit to the game but rather a hindrence.

I still love this game but I would appreicate some answers so we can know how to play the game now, to get our bases then.

    Thanks,

    Badge
  14. Hey Manticore,

    1) Will there ever be a story line with a customable AV for each hero. An AV that is your very own arch fiend.

2)The stories you have are great and one feature I love is that NPC will say random stuff about your adventures.

But I've also noticed that even though I have done all the arcs that once some NPC has mentioned a certain task or deed they stop talking about it.

Which means that even though I have fought the good fight and saved the world (soooo many times ) No one ever talks about it anymore.

Will this be fixed so that NPCs might pick a highlight of your career and mention it?

    3) Will there be more chances for our heroes to make a more lasting effect on CoH, whether it be by getting our own statue/plaque or by getting into the new CoH comic?

    Thank you,

    Badge
