  1. Another couple of pieces of art to add to the project - one free and one paid.

This one was created by Temerous Nox as an experiment in a new style of chibis for them, I really liked the look and did my best to add the flame in her hand in the same style to finish it off.

This one was a quick sketch commission sale by someone I caught wind of from SenseiBlur - Dio aka Delta India Oscar on deviantArt. Not a player of CoX (yet, though he seemed interested in trying out the game) he took the spirit of the character and gave her more practical looking flamethrower gloves which I *wish* were available in-game.

  2. Not only that, but the "if you can't post in the 1 hour to 5 minute time period of just before 5pm Pacific you're not eligible to win." All the other games, if you can post anytime during the time period, you're eligible to win.

That's been done already once and participation only keeps dropping. I think you need to come up with a different solution to encourage participating.

I've re-organized the list on the second page, and it's under the new Various Marvel/DC list.

I didn't eliminate them specifically, they just weren't on the lists I originally pulled from. I did find a second - HUGE list on IMDB which surprised me on some of the movies I would have never guessed were originally comics. I've still got some more organizing to do on my list and then I'll start on eliminations.

    same here
  6. Updated my list again with my initial thoughts on inclusion. I think I've got about 80ish definites, and I think I can go a few over 100, as I'll probably group some movie series together, like Superman 1 + 2, TMNT 1-3 (just realized I didn't include the animated TMNT movie in the list) X-Men 1-3, etc.
  7. I'd be willing to help out. I'd be willing to try a variety of different things. I've done the voices on all but one of my AE trailers (the Rise of the Blood Countess one) which you can check out here. (Even though I tend to avoid using any voice work at all when I can)
  8. Actually, I know that at least one dev's wishlist is to revamp the power pools. I think a ranged attack power pool would be a great idea, and if they allow customization at the same time then a gun power pool would work great. There's plenty of power pools that have melee attacks in them.
  9. Nice, that means it's cheaper to change a crap IO like a confuse or sniper to something that might actually be useful.
  10. The "story" part of the movie looks awful. But when they finally got to the more typical slapstick, I admit it made me laugh more than once. And Will Sasso makes a very convincing Curly.
  11. Bill Willingham talks about the similarities between Once and Fables. Quote - the reason he's doing this interview is "Partly as a call to arms -- or more accurately, a call to disarm. As grateful as I am to discover so many loyal Fables readers, willing to man the barricades, to help protect a story they love; as much as it moves me to realize I've been part in creating something that clearly moves you, affecting your lives in ways only a good story, well-told can, I think it's time to lay off. Perhaps it's time to quit rising up in public venues to accuse these folks of Grand Theft Fables, even if you still think it's so."

Also, the fairy tale identity of the Sheriff will be revealed on Sunday's episode.
  12. (Giant Monster theme)

On the ninth day of CoX-mas my true love gave to me...

    9 Lusca targets
    8 Master Illusionists mezzing.
    7 aspects of Rularuu
    6 "Save Sally" posters
    5 Accolades
    4 Arachnos Fliers
    3 concurrently spawned Paladins
    2 reward merits
    and a Giant Malta Titan.

so disappointed Lusca didn't get #8, but when you count the head as a target you get 9! Also, since when do MIs have anything to do with giant monsters?
  13. I think I added all the suggestions so far to the list on the second post and numbered them. Now I'd like to hear what I should start cutting out of the list. I'd rather not cut out a lot of the ones I own as they will be very easy to watch. There's a lot on Hero of Steel's list I'd never heard of before. I plan on coming back later on and mark the movies I think are more iffy like the Indiana Jones series and Tarzan and Zorro. It might also be good to have more variety than several very similar movies. It might be a good idea to only watch one movie from sequalized franchises like Superman and the X-men. Still lots to think about.

Good points all. I haven't counted the list yet, but I think I want to get the list to around 100 movies. That would be about two movies a week for a year. Also, any thoughts on print vs. video?

Yes, but movies in general is a list of thousands. A more specific list is easier to manage and discuss, and above all else, watch. Which is what we want to have happen.

  17. I know it's a little early but I was thinking about a project I wanted to do as a sort of new year's resolution. I'd like to watch and review every superhero/comic book movie ever made. This is a big project so I'd like some help and I thought what better place to ask for help than here. I've been thinking about this for a while, and was inspired to post after seeing the list of 80's movies that Frietag has never seen. On the flipside, I've probably seen most superhero movies out there.

First, I'd like to mention that this is really in the early stages of planning for me. I'd like to have everything figured out by the new year. I'd appreciate ideas on any parts of the concept. Is it something other people would actually be interested in? Should I do it via a blog like Wordpress.com or something similar? Should I do it as more of a video review series on YouTube? (note: this would require me getting a webcam, and I'm not up for the task of editing together a professional looking video with movie clips like the Nostalgia Critic and others, it would just be me talking to the camera, and my 5 year old daughter as well for the age-appropriate movies)

And of course the second part would be a list of movies. I'm open to anything at the moment. But I would prefer to at least start with typical superhero-comic book movies, and comic book style movies like Sin City and 300. Also, I'd prefer to limit it to American theatrically released movies, not TV movies or straight-to-DVD movies. I might change my mind on those though, depends how big the list ends up getting.

    To do list:

Get a list of movies: done
Narrow down the list of movies to around 100: done
Make the list of movies into a schedule

Decide what format to do the reviews: leaning towards text, maybe text and podcast?
Decide where to host the reviews: done
Pick a name for the project: done - Flights, Tights, and Movie Nights
  18. I like how people can't read. 80's/early 90's seminal movies. Some Like it Hot? Dr. Horrible?
  19. (Giant Monster theme)

On the second day of CoX-mas my true love gave to me

    2 reward merits
    and a Giant Malta Titan
  20. Ok, who forgot to dig up the chicks?

If I am a winner, I permit NC Interactive, Inc. and NCsoft Europe Limited to use my name, likeness, photograph, hometown, and any comments that I may make about myself or this contest that I provide for advertising and promotional activities. I also certify that I am at least 13 years of age and am eligible to participate in this contest.
  21. definitely the best so far. Amazing maps even moreso than the previous arcs, which have been consistently great. Played the hero arc today and really looking forward to checking out the villain arc.
  22. Entries are now closed, I've updated the spoiler list from what I found out in the hero version of episode 4. There is one more guess from artphobia which I haven't updated in the first post's list.

If you have any ideas or suggestions to make the final legs of this contest become more interesting, I'm open to hearing them. But it seems now it's just a waiting game. Also kudos to @The Holy Flame for being the only one to guess the one who turned out to be the mastermind behind the whole plot. Time will tell if you got everything right.
  23. First off I'd like to thank everyone who participated in this year's nominations and voting. I know that the AE has fallen off of many people's radars, and the bugs have turned many others away from it. But there are still great story arcs being made and played and these are definitely some of the best from this year.

The largest and closest races is
