Honestly, the times I've seen myself getting the most purples, is when I'm up against Rikti.
I stealthed every single RWZ mission, got purple drops from the few mobs around glowies, even got one for killing an object.
It's just RNG when mobs are defeated, imo. -

Quote:*cough* He didn't have the person who overthrew Mender Silos helping him. *cough*Unlike us, he didn't have the benefit of a time traveling fairy godfather from the distant future to clue him in on the actual nature of the Well before he took a sip. He may be a control freak, but you can't site that as an example of lacking foresight.
Statesman may not have foresight, but he didn't have hardly any physical sight then either. *Corny joke tamborine smash* -
Quote:What I'm saying is, that potential to kill something, may be exactly what is needed to down a new AV. The content is going to be scaled to our new abilities, and a blaster may be needed to overcome the new regeneration or whatever the AV may have.Damage is already the aspect in this game that becomes the most irrelevant the fastest, because you only need enough to kill, and no more does any good. Blasters are already amongst the most irrelevant ATs at the top end, because everyone else does damage, too. Get on a team with a few debuffers, and they don't need the blaster, at all.
It's just part and parcel of an AT that primarily does one thing. The more you give other ATs that potential, the less relevant that AT becomes, even if that AT also gains in that area.
Edit: Darn, Dispari beat me to it. -

Quote:If it's happening, we don't know about it.I've been working on an AE arc related to the Incarnate ability and the Praetorian conflict and so have used the Praetorian clockwork in my arc. I always knew that they could fire electric pulses out of that back-mounted harness, but also noted on the Bosses that they fire a particle beam from the chest.
Question: Is there any chance that these capabilities will make it to general user abilities?
- Ability to use a particle beam (like a streamlined laser)
- Ability to fire this beam (or perhaps the electrical one) from other than eyes/hands?
While CoX is leagues above our competitors, this would help close the gap with CO where they can mount an emanation point at different areas on the body and they also have for Power Armor power, a laser beam-type power.
Thanks!
Other than that, I wouldn't mention CO around here. We all know it's F2P now, so there isn't much competition going on with them. -
Quote:With that in mind, would Coercive Persuasion: Contagious Confusion cause aggro generation?Just tested on my Ill/Sonic. Confused an enemy, watched it attack one of its friends, confuse wore off - no aggro.
So, I'm with the "Make sure there's not a proc in it" crowd. The only confuse power I can think of (IIRC) that aggros on its own is Seeds of Confusion. -
Quote:I had meant to quote your post about -defense. The post you quoted from that was referring to Fortunatas, and I was just stating that.I think you've both missed my point, which is: so many people have fallen into the habit of always building for Defense on every.....single....character that we are starting to see more and more -Defense on mobs, some of it even auto-hit and unresistable. I imagine this trend will only get more prevalent over time, making Defense less and less attractive for non-melee AT's.
However, I'm not seeing that many enemies with auto-hits and etc.. There is the death patches in Apex, as well as the fields in the BAF raid, but with a reaction time of less than 8 seconds, you could avoid them. -
Quote:Foresight on a Widow has defense resistance (Base value: 17.3%), and it's an auto-power. You can even slot it to increase the defense resistance and defense. Personally, mine gives 24.44% defense resistance, and I don't get hit enough at 70% global defense for it to matter.Same here, I never build for Defense on Doms. Recharge is so much more powerful for them.
Widows also gain resistance proportional to their current health. -

Honestly, I'm beginning to think the healing Nictus is bugged, or I've been causing it to. Nearly every ITF I've been on the Nictus has stayed at the top of the stairs and unable to heal.

Quote:I don't see why you'd think that, considering that they will gain access to what everyone else has. Can't help but think the poor blasters are about to become even more irrelevant.
IE. If I've got 250 DPS on my blaster now, I'm doing roughly 50 additional DPS with the new slots, then I'm still valuable.
I'd say you have to think about the mechanics of the game. They're becoming more challenging as the Incarnate slots are coming along. Old content may on the other hand, need less of a class, but who's gonna care about our old content (in the level 50 playerbase) when we have new things to do?
Quote:All leaked info is subject to chance since it might have been true at that point, but the devs decide to go in another direction. The only confirmed info about the slots is the name of each slot, that Judgement is going to be an AoE attack of some kind, and the Alpha slot is a global enhancement that will allow us to be effectively level 51 eventually. Even the info about Ion Radial Final Judgement is subject to change since there is no confirmation about it anywhere except some code that slipped through.
If anything changes, it will be the damage types (Chain, Ranged, AoE, etc.) and the actual values on the powers. Something that we've seen throughout the history of this game. -

Quote:Mid's has the suppressed, if I remember correctly.I notice that Cloaking Device, when toggled on, is giving something on the magnitude of 12% defense the way I have it slotted. According to Mid's it is providing me 5.7% defense. I'm guessing that it's around 12% when not suppressed and 5.7%(slotted) when it is. Is this correct?
If you have your build in-game, there should be two separate defense values for Cloaking Device. The lowest will the the unsuppressed value. -

Quote:Looking at the "badge" picture, it is like a Cloud with rays of light coming out. Can't wait for Judgement and Interface slots. Could care less about getting a pet, I only run speed TFs and pets just die running thru everything =/
What does Destiny do again?
If I remember correctly, someone around here said it was some type of PBAoE Ally Buff. -
Saw this in your signature, took and look, and decided to go see if the Coralax pool still around. Turns out, it is!

Quote:I think you and I are on the same page there.Yup.
Looking forward to Pyronic and Void attacks. And Reactive procs. And warworks pets. You can tell I'm a damage-centric type of player.
Really hoping the Warworks, whether it's the Support, LT, or Boss tier, will have the -Rech Targeted AoE. -

Judgement: Cryonic, Ion, Pyronic, and Void.
Lore: Praetorian Clockwork, Warworks, Seers, and IDF.
Interface: Diamagnetic, Gravitic, Paralytic, and Reactive.
Destiny: Ageless, Barrier, Clarion, and Rebirth. -
Quote:I haven't failed or heard of a failed ITF, since the Beta. Maybe you should pick up some information on your team based on the way they played through the first few missions.Argh. So I pop out of my hole to try an ITF, figure the kids are occupied and I can team to get some shards and a Nictus Fragment.
Two hours later, I have a raging headache, a few shards, and no Nictus Fragment. Yes, we failed an ITF. Got up to Rommy and couldn't beat him.
It does not make me want to try it again for challenge. CERTAINLY doesn't make me want to try the more challenging Tin Mage or Apex. It makes me want to go back to my quiet soloing for another two months.
*sigh* -
There's actually a plaque or badge there in Steel Canyon that says something about people being ridiculous enough to speculate that it's a rocket launching pad.

Quote:By just reading this, I was beginning to figure you wanted a dynamic content system. That's a big undertaking, and would place the development team's resources away from what most of us want.As it currently stands.... every mission, every arc, every TF, every newspaper/radio/[praetorian radio/newspaper] mission is the same. You do something, you complete that something, you get a reward, repeat ad nauseum. What you do, while you are told affects the multiverse (I love this word) that is the City of Heroes/Villains, it actual doesn't... the story doesn't change from the rail that it's on.
However, I would like to see our moral choices in missions actually affect something, though that isn't what you're asking for entirely. (Hey, I killed Trapdoor for a reason!) I too would like AE to have a branching system, but not something that affects the actual game, unless I'm misunderstanding what you're saying here.
Oh, and from a comic book stand-point, the main character is always on a "rail." Readers hardly, if ever, have a chance to change an issue's outcome. -
Quote:I've had it happen quite a bit myself, and I've realized that it has to do (in my case) with a latent connection. If my wireless connection spikes or lowers to 2MB for certain periods, I'm guaranteed a crash.I just started playing again after probably a year or more. What do I come back to? Constant crashing that makes the game unplayable. I'd love to get this resolved. I just updated my PC before coming back with an Intel i7 860 processor, 4gb ram, GeForce 9500 GTS and 64bit Win7. Started playing CoX with almost completely fresh hardware and windows load. Now I get this constant crashing.
The crash times seem to be random. Sometimes I'll get to play for quite a while (20 minutes, maybe?) and other times it will happen pretty quickly. It happens always after logging in and choosing a character and seems to happen on other servers than my main one as well. I've tried compatibility modes, running as administrator and the "-renderthread 1" tag on the shortcut. Might be interesting to note that I'm playing on Steam. Any ideas?
