  1. Hey all!

I have an invu/dm tank that I pimped out to my hearts content when he hit 50 but as I have since been involved in other toons so he's kinda fallen into shadow (no pun intented)...

In light of the Incarnate Trials however, I'm hoping to get him back into action since there'll actually be some teaming to be had! I am, however, at a loss of discovering any major improvements to his build.. Which is why I'm now posting here

His DEF is about the only thing that I absolutely do NOT want to drop, soft-cap with only 1 enemy in range is a big key-point to hard AV fights (even though in the trials there are adds etcetc).

The rest I'm not so fussed about.. one of the main thoughts I've had is to change the APP's around, maybe change Fire Blast for Melt Armor to be of more use or maybe change alltogether to make myself even more "Tanky" than I am atm..

So please, have a look and drop a line if you can think of any changes that might improve the build

((Accolades is in progress, Alpha chosen for the extra DEF so I'd prefer keeping that though if the DEF can be made up elsewhere I'm open to change))

Can have a try later on but I wouldnt recommend getting your hopes up since it's very very very doubtful at best
  5. Can anyone tell me how this works? does it proc on spawn or is it a chance to proc whenever the pet attacks?

    Thank you
  6. t4 Ion can hit up to 40 targets, and if you go the left-hand tree it'll have bonus-damage to Minions LTs and Pets.,. what could possibly be better?
  7. I agree, this was a nice thing even though most people (me being one of them) was rather upset at the situation in general (i for one will remain quite grumpy until they give us the account server back!). But it gave a nice distraction, got to see some familiar faces in Positron, Zwill, Warwitch.. and Ghost Falcon wearing that Star Wars helmet certainly made me laugh :P

and as for the "no announcements" there was a small one, but this was not something they had planned ahead on, they just did it for the sake of keeping us entertained and in the loop
  8. Well as i promised yesterday i've taken a glance at this and i do have a fair few pointers.
firstly, you're going to have rather big endurance issues with this build, fair warning :P

the slotting on each individual power is kinda off imo, there's really no reason to 6slot with purples for example, the Toxic Resist really isnt needed since you so rarely face it, and the PvP IO's is probably not something you'll end up getting your hands on, unless you've got unrestricted funds or actually PvP yourself that is.

Another noteworthy thing is this: the secondary effects of your powers change when you activate a Swap Ammo toggle, so things like KB procs wont actually be valid unless you run on Lethal only damage.

Finally: while i can see the point of building for some Defense on a res-based squishy, you would probably be much better off building it for HP and Regen instead to better accomodate the Resistance you get

It seems really hard to keep my combos up against a mob who's constantly on the move.

Could anyone with a DB/WP brute give advice if this combo is worth keeping on a brute? Wouldnt like to spend lots of time grinding in the trials only to feel gimped
First of all, everyone's gimped in the trials until you've started getting some of the new incarnate powers, so don't get too stressed out

as for stage3 on BaF, it's hard for any melee toon to get powers off and time things right. my main is a elec/shield scrapper and it's impossible for me to use my tp-attacks unless i'm positioned at a spawn-site.

I defo think you should keep your toon though i can only imagine that DB will become extremely nice with, for example, the Reactive proc from Interface which adds a chance to do -Res on every attack, or perhaps the -Regen one. And with a Judgement power you'll soon be taking those mobs down quite fast as well (personally i highly recommend going Ion, but then i'm biased :P)

So yeah, stick with it until you've started getting some powers slotted, you'll notice the difference even before the new levelshifts i assure you

Being a /rad i'd've assumed you'd skipt Rebirth and just use the generic heal, guess i was wrong :P

I will give it a try but for now, all my other slots/powers have way higher priority to make the trials as easy as possible.

Which interface you going for mate?
personally i'm more interested in judgement and interface than the other 2, as far as the actual powers go that is.

Ion really adds well to my elec/shield/pyre AoE maniac :P and the -Res proc on top of that is just beautiful to watch :P

Destiny is the only one i'm still undecided on though (gonna go Clockwork for Lore) torn between Ageless and Rebirth on destiny
  13. right, i'm now officially FUMING (in true Free Spirit fashion!! :P) can't wait for them to have the servers and crap back up to i can ***** and moan directly to the support-crew.. they'll prolly ban me for what i have to say, but i'm gonna say it anyway....

  18. Original thread: http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showt...15#post3574315

Right, since there has been no news, and no discussion thread has been opened, i'm now taking it into my own hands to try and get some inputs on this..

The server has now been down all of yesterday evening, through the night and up until right now (and still no ETA on it being brought back up!!).

Now, I realize that it being the account server might give it lower priority on the "to-do list" but here's the deal. While the server's kept down we can't do ANYTHING to manage our accounts or even create new characters due to the slots being unavailable!

If you're going to bring down a vital server and/or function, you should, in my opinion, either have a fix ready to just be implemented (developed using a copy/clone of the actual server) or set a "deadline" time after which, if the job isn't done, you relaunch the server as it was.

I know you premise the downtime-threads with "we apologise for the inconvenience" but that, frankly, isn't good enough anymore. For quite some time now every maintenance has brought with it negative aspects that has caused us -the paying customers- to suffer!

Personally I love this game, absolutely love it, and i've been playing it for more years than i can remember. But when stuff like this is going on (this maintenance, the 11hrs of downtime we had last week with little/no reimbursement etcetc) I just feel like I'm standing in line at the store and all the cashiers has gone off to lunch without caring....

The very LEAST you could do is to keep us updated (as you say you will in the original thread but is still to do!) so we have a chance to understand why we can't fully use what we're paying for!

    //end rant.... for now...
  19. Hmm, that just makes it even more annoying tbh :P about to run yet another ITF on my invuln tank, see what he ends up getting..
  20. Hey all, am writing to see wether anyone else has noticed the same differences i have or if some of my toons are just plain unlucky...

I've done a series of tests on my various AT's after noticing that my invul tank was hardly getting any shards..

Old-school farming: for the sake of testing this, i picked up a farm mish on all my incarnates (same mission from same contact running at the same diff).
Each of the characters got 10 runs in the mission, and the results shows quite the difference..

    invul Tank:0shards
    elec Tank: 2shards
    Blaster: 6shards
    elec/shield scrap: 9shards
    ma/shield scrap: 8shards

i've also been keeping tabs on their shard-drops from TF's lately, to make it consistent i counted only the same TF for all of them (ITF).

in 1 ITF 'normal' run (kill a lot but not excessive) i got:
    tanks : 3shards
    blaster: 6shards
    scrappers: 8-10shards

it really seems like my tanks are quite incapable of getting shards and it's really started to aggrovate me (especially considering how many we have to get!)

has anyone else experienced any differences between AT's?
  21. Union server is currently having some major issues, can't enter maps (or in some cases leave them), Global chat-channels are all gone, can't send/reply to -tells. Also seems to be issues with sending in petitions... where's the GM's at?..
  22. Seems there might be a small problem with sending in petitions from Union as well, i've sent in 2 but the automated responses arent bouncing back to me...
  23. Well while I also enjoy DXP quite a lot, it seems this one has ended oddly seeing as I can't log on and the server-indicators on the website says it's up and running (also no posts concerning downtime on forums).... Discuss :P
  24. Allthough i admire the thought, giving out another DXP to NA servers due to problems.. i can't help but feel a bit left out by the fact that the "new" dxp will be given to them after i16, unless it's gonna be for us all and we've just not been told (at least not as far as i've been able to see searching the forums)...

In a perfect world we'd all be given that to make our new power-proliferations go off with a bang!... but ye, in a perfect world... :P
  25. 3 hours sounds like a bit much for booster pack though don't it?

I must say though, we've really come a long way when it comes to letting us players know when a downtime is coming up, messages being posted in advance both here and on the updater. Very much appreciate that.

Next step is for them to start telling us a bit more or what the downtimes are gonna be doing so we dont have to be guessing every time :P :P
