I love procs and specials of all sorts, so the idea of having a few more to choose from made me grin just on general principle.
That said, I really do like the Stalker proc a lot. My red-side main has the upgraded version, while my two blue-side favorites got the standard ones and it's been useful for all three.
Since they were cheap on Wents, I also picked up the Kheldian special for both of my bi-form Peacebringers ('Dropped 'em in Photon Seekers, since neither of them had anything interesting there-), a Mastermind set for the Bride, the Tanker proc for my blue-side main and one of the Defender procs for my Empath.
I haven't had time to see how the tanker one works in play, but the little defender AoE heal is cute. It actually fires often enough to have come in handy keeping her squishier Lore pet alive in the last iTrial I had Karasu on. The forum population seems to have deemed the Mastermind set a massive failure as a whole, but so far I don't have major complaints with the special. The Bride's zombies need all the help they can get.
I've gotten ahold of two of the Scrapper procs, as well. (I did say that I love specials and procs, didn't I?) I'm curious to see how those will work out... I'm giving them to my favorite Dual Blader and my Broadsword guy. -
Can't wait to see these... That's going to be quite a collection.
(And somewhere off in dank and dusty Oranbega, the poor Nemissary just shakes his head and grumbles something about the Bride, imponderable mysteries and crime-fighting in fancy lingerie.)

It varies, depending on who I'm working on at the time...
This time around? I currently have about half-a-dozen characters in their 40's. I'd like to get at least a few of them to 50. -
There are really only a few that I regularly abandon when they come up... "Your Life Story", "Out of the Corner of Your Eye" and "Malta Gunman Action Figure" are the main offenders.
This first two I ditch because I tend to run hero-side tips with Shade in Shadow, my KM Stalker, or Surruna, one of my DB Stalkers. KoA are an absolute pain in the rump for Stalkers, since every single one of them can see right through Hide. Doing those missions is like wading through a sea of Rikti Drones, only with more caltrops. Not exactly my idea of stalk-a-rific fun. <_<
The Panther action figure mission is just annoying because of the time span between the ambushes. When I play, I want to *play*, not stand around waiting for a bunch of goons to get their act together. -
Quote:Not so many... But some of us who do have more than one, so it still works out to a fair bit of lobster and calamari.heh, how many people actually play kheldians? Although the damage up in Nova form would probably be pretty spiffy. Warshade with fluffies out and upgraded nova, mmm.
The SOA proc seems to be confused, it one part it says -dmg debuff/terrorize and another spot it says -dmg debuff/Toxic DoT -

Quote:I can't speak for anyone else, but in my case... yes. I wanted one specific piece (the jacket) for one particular character (Mei, my Nemesis agent).Do you already have a character or thinking of one that must have the super pack costume pieces or are you just being a clothes horse?
I'd like to have the complete set at some point, sure, just for the option of using them if I wanted to... It's a nice set. But I don't want them badly enough to spend extra money on random chance. -
Quote:For what it's worth, I'm still not willing to spend money on random chance. My opinion on that has not, in any way, changed. If the supposed "morality" of gambling had any real weight here, the Packs would not have hit the market.
The fact that posters who refused to buy the Packs on principle balked and spent points on them anyway... in this very thread even... speaks more loudly to the decision makers than anything else in this thread.
I used my left-over stipend points for mine. That's why I only opened six.
Now having the few things I wanted from the packs? I doubt I'll even spend any more of those. YMMV, of course, but I still hope the devs provide some other way to get the costume set and the wolf. -
Quote:Considering I was the person who had to open north of 700 packs to find that thing in beta, I figure the Random Number Fairy was just taking pity on me for once.Yep I figure for every person who gets the Black Wolf in the first dozen or so packs there'll be another person who has to open 200+ packs to get it and thus Universal Karma will be preserved.

I opened 6 packs earlier and got...
3 Costume Pieces (Jacket, Sleeves and Gloves)
1 Catalyst
2 ATOs (Brute triple and SoA proc)
1 Windfall
1 Black Wolf O_O
2 or 3 assorted consumeables I'll never use
... and a pretty nice little pile of Merits.
Merits made up the bulk of the "not very interesting" cards I received. -
Quote:I only got one catalyst in the six packs I opened... If they can be traded, I'm probably going to give that one to FCM to use on his Stalker proc. I'll just wait to get Kestrel's in DA once it's live, or on the Underground runs I take her on.I managed to get enough Catalyst to upgrade 3 full sets of ATIOs.
Anyone know if Synapse's fixes for the scrapper proc have gone in yet?
No clue re: the scrapper proc. I haven't been keeping close tabs on that one. -
Quote:Eh. Merits made up the bulk of what I got in my six packs... I just used them to help buy Kestrel's ATO proc from the vendor, since I didn't get it from the packs directly.Wait. Why convert them? Arent they just normal merits? The kind where with 200 or 250 you can get a miracle or numina?
How do you/why would you convert them?
Lewis
I can see converting them because you wanted something only available with A-Merits, though. -
Quote:Indeed.Prices are falling quite rapidly.
Down from 200 million per ATIO this morning to around 50 million on some of them.
I'd suggest people buying them now for cheapers.
'Just got the bits I wanted for not all that bad a price. Now, if only I had catalysts. -
Quote:I'm one of those people who refuses to spend money on rando-packs, but I did have some spare points sitting around and wanted the Elemental Order jacket for Mei... so I caved a little and used those to buy six packs.I got a good chunk of the Elemental Order costume, three pieces, with my first buck.
I bought several packs. In my opinion, they're worth it, as an occasional treat. Just don't go overboard, if you know you shouldn't. Spend responsibly.
I ended up getting three costume pieces out of those six pulls... the jacket, sleeves and gloves... So, not *great* odds on those exactly, since it only worked out to one bit every second pack, but not horrible either, I guess. Especially since two of those three were the bits I was actually after.
What floored me was getting the wolf on pack #4.
It took me so many tries to get that thing on beta that I had pretty much written off my odds of getting it completely. So, yeah. Nice surprise there, since it suits Whisper so well... But I'm going to feel like a bit of a heel running around with him. Given how rotten my RNG luck always is, no one is going to believe I got him so cheaply. o_0 -
Yep. I'll spent merits on the ATOs I want for Kestrel... and thankfully the Wents trading on those is functional now. I already bought the one proc I was interested in from the auction house, for a not-too-outrageous price. (It's a little round Valentine's gift for FCM's favorite stalker.
)
That said... I did cave a little, even as bad as I know my luck is.
I really wanted that Elemental Order jacket for Mei, so I used some of my monthly points to buy a few packs. (Six all together-)
From those six... I got a pile of merits, one catalyst, a Brute ATO, the SoA proc ATO (Alas, my widow has nowhere to put it-), a couple of costume bits (The jacket and sleeves, which are what I was really after, and the gloves-), a few inspirations, one Windfall... and the Black Wolf.
Six packs... and I got the freakin' wolf that took me more than SEVEN HUNDRED pulls to get on Beta. I guess the Random Number Fairy figured she owed me a break after the crap she's given me with iTrial and shard drops or something.
I still don't think spending extra money on these is a good idea, and I really dislike the idea of putting things like the costume set in there with no other avenue to get them. But yeah... Throwing spare points from the monthly stipend paid off in my case, so guess getting lucky is possible. -
Quote:To match the Carnival of Light fellows, they'd have to get the Legacy Chain helmets and armor pieces... Which I'd also be happy to see ported over for player use.Actaully, to keep with the Carnival theme, men would get harlequin pants and a bucket on their head.

Given that it took me over 30 packs to get the complete costume set on beta... several hundred to get *one* complete ATO set (and it wasn't the set I wanted-)... and over 700 to get the black wolf?
I won't be spending any extra money on these things. They're just not worth the gamble, and I really hope the devs eventually change their stance on releasing the costume set in some other way. -
Really looking forward to these bits, guys... This set is going to be great fun.
-
Maybe someday guys will get the Carnival masks and sash, Chad.
I hope so, anyway. -
Quote:Is this where I mention that Ty'ree has a pet piece of Regenerating Flesh?
* "But... I can't build my next tier power... it... it requires Biomorphic Goo and well... he's too cute! I can't bring myself to use him in a recipe... I've named him Squishy..."
She named it Squiggles. o_0 -
Is the world really ready for TWO of him, though? One's bad enough....

Quote:This.I think they just honestly reused the model and didn't care. A lot of the new Spring Fling stuff shows a lack of attention to detail.
I did the villain-side version of that arc first, and my reaction to the contact was pretty much "Wow. Somebody got lazy, didn't they?"
