Quote:Any weapon set will cause you redraw. So, if that's a problem, avoid them when using Fire Armor.I went for Stone... but ONLY because my SS/Granite had issues with rage crash (non double stacking because of bloody granite rchg debuff) but if you tell me you can actually skip rage's debuff defense, SS becomes the most freaking sexiest primary set on earth. Like, beside it looks dull.
I had BS/Regen scrapper back in the time, weapon unleash after using (formerly widely overpowered) air superiority was very painfull. If swords disapear after using Burn or Healing Flames I'm going to headbutt my screen. -

Quote:This is actually what gets me. Seeing as how you see posters all the time go "it's not realistic"Even if Apes were killing humans 10 to 1, there's a massive difference in numbers. A typical major city has millions of humans...a typical city has may be 500-1000 primates...whatever it is it's an insignifigant figure. Even General Custer could win this war.
It would take a heck of a plot device(or plot induced stupidity) to fix this numbers game. Guns are the grand equalizer, as bullets still kill monkeys despite them being physically superior to us. You don't need high end technology to beat him (despite I don't think an army of apes could do jack against the national guard in tanks and helicopters.), so this just makes me laugh.
It might be a decent film but I'd probably need turn off the logic center of my brain completely to enjoy it as something about a bunch of apes beating us up makes me roll my eyes.
So far, I don't see any way gorillas could realistically take over the world, when it's billions versus an endargered species. -
Quote:I liked the current version of Supergirl! When I could hit the comic store all the time, I picked up Supergirl because I liked that version of Supergirl. *sigh*Well, one of the DC guys said he never wants to see Supergirl's panties again, iirc. The cynic in me says, "Well, she could always go commando then...".
Or maybe teach your artists how to draw scenes such that she isn't flashing the viewer. It might also be a way of moving away from the rather too-skinny look that she's had for a while.
Harley looks more like Arkham Asylum Harley than anything else. -
Couldn't they keep the old look of Supergirl while giving her the new costume (which just seems like a reason to say "look no pantie shots")?
Grifter is looking good.
Red Robin, I'll say it again, I personally love the outfit.
Harley Quinn, love her outfit, but it doesn't seem like the Harley Quinn I love.
That said, maybe this reboot will get me back into DC again. -
Quote:I remember my feelings on his artwork! It's sadly true about Liefeld. I recall a lot of my friends liked his stuff back in the day. I can't honestly recall my opinion of him, but I'd like to think I thought his art was horrible. More than likely I was just neutral over it.
Now the Star Wars Ep 1. Some of us thought it was a travesty from the get-go(not just a bad Star Wars film, it's just a bad film). I actually don't recall a lot of people liking it truthfully. I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of those people saying it was awesome simply talked themselves into thinking it was a good film simply because it was Star Wars. I know I've talked myself into liking a couple movies simply because I've loved a director's prior work. Eventually I snap out of it and realize what I was doing and how horrible the movie was. Usually doesn't take too long. A couple weeks at the most generally speaking.
It wasn't meh. It just wasn't my favorite, and I thought it was 100 times better than Gary Frank, who ruined Gen-13 for me (well that and the writing was bad...I can handle bad art and good writing...I can handle good art and bad writing...but both...*Sigh* that was a terrible time for Gen-13).
Of course, I didn't go over analyzing his artwork and missed some of those old screw ups people make mention of. -
Quote:Well that's how I remember it playing KM on my stalker. And I swore it did the same for the other ATs. Not sure if PS increases the -DMG effect or not though.Ah, there I found it. The mouse over description of the KM set declares that "All attacks in this set reduce the damage ...." So it sounds like you are probably correct.

RT doesn't have the -DMG, and yes, Burst had the biggest -DMG debuff. Figure add that to help /FA's survivability plus the knockdowns (back in the case of RT, which gets skipped by lots of people). -
Quote:Kin Melee's attacks have -DMG effects whether you use Power Siphon or not...though, does Power Siphon increase the -DMG effect? I didn't think it did.PS is a click that modifies all of your KM attacks to reduce dmg to each thing you hit, and for each successful hit it gives you a dmg buff. Each dmg buff is on the order of 30 something percent maybe and is on a timer. The effect will stack up to 5 times in total, but usually it rolls between 3 or 4 as some expire before new ones take effect.
The effect fades before the dmg buffs do, so with decent recharge it can be kinda perma.
Burst has too short of a range imo. It has around the same animation time as spine burst, similar dmg, and smaller area of effect.
Seems a tad neutered to me, but I imagine others will disagree. Having said that - on a brute with all that autotaunt happening that will be less of a problem than on my scrapper. Even then it's decent and worth taking. FE+Burn+Burst could do some wicked things.
As far as synergy - I've thought about km/fa for the added AoEs and the added dmg buff from FE. Honestly, talking about it makes me want to revisit the idea.
Counterintuitively, the tier one is worth taking, the KD makes for nice mitigation, and you want a smooth, quick attack chain for both fury and PS. Pop PS while you run into a spawn (doesn't root), cycle fast attacks (not pools or inherents or vets, they won't add dmg) then drop AoEs or heavy hitters when the buff is full up. QS helps with that early on, though I want to say folks keep it. Dunno yet, my km scrapper is only in his late 20s -
Quote:Unless it's a super long animation, you can click on other powers and not interrupt the combos. I use Void Judgement mid combo all the time on my DB/WP and still finish the combo.Sets with weapons are not the best choice to combine with Fiery Aura. As a Fiery Aura character, you will likely be using Burn about as often as it comes up. This causes your weapons to be put away, then you have to spend time on the re-draw. Avoid combining Dual Blades with any armor set that requires you to press buttons from your secondary set often.
Redraw on the other hand could be an issue for people and it does lower DPS, but it sounds like you're talking about the combo being interrupted. -
Quote:This has all been pretty much answered. But something to consider...Thanks for all the replies.
I dont get it, rage crash doesnt happend if rage refreshes before it crashes? Not even the -def debuff?
Im very interested by DB, because the combo system feels "new". Is DB Brute set as efficient as Scrapper one?
Oh I dont have problems on on AVs, I can solo most of them. I have problems on "some" AV. Bosses from Incarnate trials trashes me, some mobs groups also are problems at +3 lvl, like DEs or Nemesis. Very high psy damage AVs also mash me hardcore if they make it through def.
No matter what primary you pick to pair with Fire Armor, you're good to go!
ELM/FA needs a bit more single target damage? Grab Soul Mastery and get Gloom!
Don't want Soul Mastery? Your ST output should still be decent with Fiery Embrace, Blazing Aura, and Burn thrown into the mix.
ELM may not be the best Single Target set, but you should still beable to pull off some decent ST DPS, and you're also mixing up the damage types which is always good.
The only problem you may find with Dual Blades, is if you're using Healing Flames to often. Using Healing Flames won't interfere with the combos, but it will cause redraw, which may or may not be a problem for you.
Only one power in Kinetic Melee does knockback, Repulsing Torrent, and most skip it. It's better on a Scrapper for sure, but it's still decent on a Brute, but if it looks foolish to you, then don't use it.
You say you hate knockback, but really very few attacks have knockback now. Also, Claw's Shockwave does Knockback.
Sounds like you'd like DB/FA though.
That will allow you to use the -resist proc or even both if you're willing to put in the effort via influence or hero merits to get it.
Blinding Feint - Attack Vitals Combo - Repeat, would be decent ST DPS (more so tacking on all the goodies from Fire Armor), and doesn't require that much +RCH to obtain, and can allow you to focus on +Defense bonuses if you wish to get IOed out.
In terms of damage, Fire Armor helps your single target and AOE damage, or enhances it. So my suggestion is to go by a concept, then turn that concept into a damage machine
-
Quote:I think this is a lot of it.You guys are also forgetting nerd rage when it comes to poor ticket sales. Remember a bunch of people here said they would skip it because it kicked continuity in the **** and threw it right out the window and thats just a sampling of the X-Men fanbase.
Though, the fans of the other superhero movies don't seem to be saying anything about comic continuity. :/ -
Quote:Ummm...actually...Dual Blades has def debuff. It's in Alabating Strike. You only need 1 attack to have the proc, as the proc doesn't stack. Now we have:
Dual Blades, Battel Axe and War Mace - They look super cool but I have no idea how good they perform damage-wise. They also are S/L but without innate def debuff (where I could abuse Achile Heels, Axe is KD tho it can me a nice spot for many Force Feedback procs).
Also, Sweeping Strike can take the PvP -Resist Proc, so you can slot in two -resist procs that will stack with each other. -

Quote:Electric Melee is good AOE.Having never really played stalkers seriously I figured I would try on out finally.
What are the different primaries like?
Secondaries I figure I am pretty well sold on ninjitsu so that's covered.
Any good synergy with any primary? Any advice?
Thanks in advance....oh and no am I not using this for pvp.
Kinetic Melee has a AOE with 100% Crit from hide. Can tack on a little -DMG on the enemies.
These would be the two choices I say are best to go with. -
Quote:Could blame the Superman movies. The whole going back in time thing might have ruined it for some people on that. The dramatic tension in a good Superman story is not whether he'll survive. Of course he'll survive. The question is whether or not he'll be able to save everyone else.
Sadly, Hollywood never clued into that, and now it seems that DC has forgotten it as well.
Not only will he survive, but if he can't save everyone, he can try again! -
Quote:I'm going to answer this question for you, as I know the answer. You may not like it however, but it's really the truth.Hawk & Dove - LIEFELD?!?!? They gave freakin' LIEFELD art chores on this series?? I don't know or care who Sterling Gates is right now, WHAT WERE THEY THINKING?!? How does this guy keep getting work outside of his creator-owned schlock? Does he have blackmail on someone at DC or somethig?
Some people actually like his work. It's true. At one point before there was really an internet, when those who did have a modem used AoL, people raved on and on about Liefeld.
Then, of course, the internet came, and people started jumping on bandwagons, and then EVERYONE on the internet had to jump on the bandwagons.
Kinda like Star Wars Episode 1. People saw it, said it was AWESOME. Now, all you hear is OMG IT SUCKS! YOU RUINED MY CHILDHOOD! Which of course, isn't true. Special Edition did that for the Childhood Star Wars fans.
[EDIT] Forgot to mention...I LOVE THE RED ROBIN OUTFIT! -
Quote:No one said Melee DP.Whips...
Dimensional Defense
-Displacement power (like the one previously suggested, several target-able invulnerable clones, think Phantom Army, but they all are debuffed clones of you)
-Warping shields (animates like you are being hit, but goes through (bent space) you)
-Time Warp (+To-Hit, +Recharge)
etc
Time Control and Melee DP are the two previous suggestions I find most appealing...
DP/Armor is a whole new AT. Because Melee doesn't get ranged sets. So new balances need to be made for it.

I imagine a Red Hood and Starfire pairing in the future!
-
This was my first creation. A bit gothic lolita meets french maid.

This was my second. More of a formal dress.
-
Having a /Shield at 50 and seeing Fire/SD in action. I think you just need to get some IOs in the mix to get rid of that feeling.
Don't know you're current build. You say ENDRED slotted, but don't know if you have Fighting Pool and Leadership going or not.
Steadfast +3% Defense IO slotted in would help a bit as well. -
Quote:I could swear I've missed whole spawns on AOEs. And I recall seeing a screen shot where an Ice Storm missed almost every tick.I'm not sure the streakbreaker counts them as separate attacks.
Could be wrong though so please feel free to cite evidence otherwise
I could be wrong though. -
Quote:Well, there's Bishop. He hasn't been used yet. Could easily say he's not from the future in the Marvel Movie universe.Just a couple thoughts from skimming the thread, haven't read it completely though. I did enjoy the movie thoroughly, but then my expectation were pretty low going in.
I'm not sure I agree with the comment that the x-men have always been kids. Sure X-men 1.0 were kids (angel, marvel girl, beast, cyclops, iceman) but I always had the impression that X-men 2.0 were older. (Banshee, Wolverine, and Storm in particular). And I think it's a little disingenuous to claim the angst in the X-men is new. Storm was moody for a really long time in the comics as she dealt with being a pacifist who had harmed people and trying to resolve that. There was a lot of moody Jean Grey while she dealt with the implications of what she had done as Dark Phoenix. Granted my knowledge is really only post 1975 and it may have been more care free before that....but post 1975 is a ways back to be claiming that the mood isn't authentic.
As to the race issue, I think X-men has long suffered from having almost all of its characters being for the most part white and middle class which I think they tried to remedy with team 2.0 to limited affect (Canadian, Japanese, Kenyan, Russian, German, Apache, (probably missing one or two)) since the Japanese and Apache mutants didn't last long as I recall.
Unfortunately, I don't think they could change the race of any the mutants without fans getting upset, and the cast of minority characters to draw upon is rather limited especially seeing as Storm wasn't an option. I'm not so certain that this is a X-Men issue, so much as it is an issue of comics in general.
Some of the other problems are that they used so many of them already (mostly in bit parts). -
Quote:true. It's an additional power choice. That's certainly true, yet I stand by my point.

I consider -range and fly to be survivability just as much as HP, regen, res, def...
Ok, it's specific in that for that particular encounter you don't need anything else once you have that ; but it's still at least one more power pick you'd have to spend over a SR with just enough survivability to solo the sabotage phase - as confront is essentially an useless choice in that situation.
I would also argue that there still can be a benefit to tanking LR in melee over confront spam, because in melee you can also whack a tower (ideally, one that your teammates aren't fighting
) and contribute some damage.
I could of put in Assault instead for a bit more damage, but I run enough STFs (even now) that it's just a good power pick for me to have, when I've seen to many tanks unable to do the hover + taunt (even if they have fly) due to ego, or the team makeup doesnt allow anyone else to do it.
So, Hover + Confront was put in. Hover adds some survivability though, so that's always a plus (and has saved me on some AVs...like soloing mantis) not to mention Dual Blade Confront just looks pretty
-
Quote:I have no problem using inspirations, in fact, I use them on everything except when I try to solo Pylons/AVs.The sweet spots for defense are 20%, 32.5%, and 45%. Those are in order of number of small inspirations needed to hit the soft cap, from most to least. Obviously 45% would cost you more recharge than you want to give up. Hitting 32.5% in one category is possible, but you would probably have to give up the mentioned attack chain to hit 32.5% in two categories (S/L and E/N preferably). If you manage to pull off that kind of build and still run the top attack chain seamlessly, I would love to see it.
I went with 20% to all positions on my SS/FA so I could fit in as much DPS as possible. It isn't enough for some people, but I'm used to an inspiration-popping playstyle.
