Fm/sd or kat/regen

this week, i've gotten a fm/sd scrapper to level 33 and a Kat/regen scrapper to 34. So far they've both been amazing. With the fm/sd I can run into +2/3 mobs and drop them in a short amount of time, but I feel weak at times. With my Kat/regen I feel unstoppable, but i'm not puuting out the damage i'd like to be. Please help me decide which build to continue leveling.

I assume feeling weak is due to /sd? It will improve based on what kind of IOs you have invested in and eventually being incarnate will help as well. I would say on my Claws/regen the 30s was the last time I really felt uber on the build. Once I hit 40-50 the annoying mobs happened and I got sick of being a beta tested for a voodoo doll. Kat will help so you might not feel it as much. Again, I have no clue what you have invested into the builds. I just know /sd benefits more from what you invest in it as you level.

Wait until you've got your Fm/SD's softcap on. SD is semi-squishy on the trip up, but the moment you get your defenses to 45%, your Fm/SD will become a god/dess of hilarious and unholy destruction.

The other problem i've been having with my fm/sd is that my end is horrible. Every power has atleast one end reduc in it, and stamina is 4 slotted with end mod SO's, but I run out every group

Try slotting 2 end reductions in your attacks, and 1-2 in each toggle.

Again, this is a high level issue to fix. I use Cardiac, the Performance Shifter +end, Miracle +rec and the Numina's +rec/regen as well as any freebie +recovery bonuses (i.e. not specifically slotted for). I no longer have end issues, but I'm giving up Spiritual or Musculature for it.

The City of Heroes Community is a special one and I will always look fondly on my times arguing, discussing and playing with you all. Thanks and thanks to the developers for a special experience.

Part of the problem is having three extra powers so scrappers grab Tough and Weave before they might be able to handle the end issues the toggles might cause. This is why I think inherit Fitness is forcing a number of builds to go IOs/Incarnate to make up for it. Not sure if Cardiac wasn't overkill on my Kat/sr, but his end merely dips.

I usually slot perf shifter & miracle proc by L17/18 and slot the Numi proc at L27.

I also use the empowerment station buffs to help out in the early levels.

Having a /Shield at 50 and seeing Fire/SD in action. I think you just need to get some IOs in the mix to get rid of that feeling.

Don't know you're current build. You say ENDRED slotted, but don't know if you have Fighting Pool and Leadership going or not.

Steadfast +3% Defense IO slotted in would help a bit as well.

^ This. Slotting the recovery uniques early helps a LOT, so do the empowerment buffs.

This is also good advice. 3% Defence might not sound like much but it does make a difference.

As for which to level it really is up to you. Personally I would take the FM/SD since he does a lot more damage than the Kat/Reg and when properly setted out will be extremely sturdy. Against All Odds will not only help you boost your damage, but it will also enable you to herd and act as a pseudo tank when/if needed which is always a nice plus.

Katana/Regen survives better on the trip up, but Regen is fiddly and requires constant attention to your health bar. Some players may enjoy that on-the-edge, but healing yourself detracts from your DPS.

When Shield is softcapped it has as much survivability as anything (Especially with Rebirth destinies available, covering for Shield's one weakness, the lack of a self heal), does more damage, has an amazing short-recharge quasinuke, and isn't continually forced to stop attacking in order to activate heals deal with incoming damage. Shield is amazing on Scrappers.

I went and switched mains because I was so amazed by Fire/Shield's lategame performance. I have never regretted this decision.

This, sorta.

I wouldn't slot 2 in each attack, but I'd make sure each attack has at least one end reduction.

Your attacks burn more end than your toggles ever will. Especially Fire Sword Circle and Greater Fire Sword, those are some end hungry attacks there.
