The time it takes me to solo to an IO build versus someone that teams I also consider reasonable.

The time it takes me to earn the inf necessary to buy a PvP unique IO versus the time it takes someone who AFK farms for them is equitable in my opinion.

This is not the case for incarnate advancement. I consider this wrong. Not fair. Not equitable. Not in line with the rest of the game. Not reasonable or rational.

EDIT: Great. Now I'm channeling Mordin Solus.
I think this might be a bit more of a problem if there was some reason for the solo character to actually need the incarnate abilities outside of "I just want them, but don't need them, just want them fast, so I can move on."

Solo players want to become Incarnates, I get that. Alpha, easy enough to get unlocked solo. Just do the arc.

I see you have a team vs solo account of how long it takes to get rewards. But nothing said of why one would even need the abilities solo.
  3. Hmmm...I must of been the only one who kept their shields with the original slot and slotted either a LotG: +RCH or a KB Resist IO >_>

    Iconic Costumes

    Spider-Man!

    Wonder Woman's!

    Batman!

    Superman!

All Iconic and people always trying to change them!

Now, I actually liked the Iron Spider outfit, it was pretty awesome. But I'm glad (or so it seemed) it was temporary. Spider-Man should always be back in his classic outfit.

    10000 is 25 months
    15000 is 37.5 months

While I don't see myself leaving during those 37.5 months it seems like an extremely long amount of time to play for such little reward.

This is coming from someone with nearly 1200 badges
And thusly we can hear the outcry from people!

  9. If you're burnt out, then dont do them.

I'm going to tell you a little secret about all those rewards offered for doing the trials.

    1) Not needed.

    2) Those costume sets, not all breath takingly impressive. They're nice. But really, they don't fit the typical superhero concept.

    3) They just lowered the price to turn 10 Shards into 10 Threads to 1 million. Now come on, that's 10 generic recipes found a day to get 10 threads.

    4) Notice of the Well, turns into 40 Threads. No. It's not solo content per se (you could if you found the people to form it with you and one to stay on), but one group activity a week can be done by any soloer.

Yes, Tier 4's are expensive as all hell to get, but if you're solo, you don't need tier 4. Hell if you're solo you don't need tier 1.

Want to just team with friends? Just team with friends and do non Trial content. It's easy! No really it is.
  10. Incarnates to me, are basically Marvel and DCs version of A-Listers.

Batman would be an Incarnate in CoH.
Spider-Man would be an Incarnate in CoH.

Nothing in the Incarnate abilities have made me feel like there's this big OMG I'M A GOD!

What? Taking out a group of cannon fodder? Batman and Spider-Man do that all the time!

When I can take on a minimum of 8 AVs and kill them all at once (you know...like Statesman has done to teams of villains in the LRSF) then it'll feel like being a god.

As of now, Incarnate feels like "Hey, I'm an A-Lister not a sidekick"

    Costumes, Hair

Widow VEAT just need to have more hair options with the costume period! If it's a clipping issue, I already don't use the high collar, and so no clipping issue would insue for me.

We also need some hoods that don't make the characters look bald. Maybe have some bangs sneaking out of the side of the hoods. Something.

Oh, and we need better hoods period while we're at it.

Magic Pack hoodie is close, but needs to look like there's some hair under there as well as an option to not have the magic glyphs or what ever outlining it.
  12. So it hit me. A perfect way to help make more money for CoH while still not costing anything for those who are willing to wait.

    Badge 1 - You've spent 5,000 Paragon Points
    Badge 2 - You've spent 10,000 Paragon Points
    Badge 3 - You've spent 15,000 Paragon Points

Now I didn't include any names for the badges, since I'm not sure if something like Big Spender is already being used or not. But this is way to get some hard core badgers spending money quickly, while still being fair to the VIPs who just wait it out and just use their 400 PP a month.

The badges would of course be global account wide badges and not character only.

A couple suggestive changes in there for you. You're END REC is roughly 5.45 End a Sec, once you get the Accolades. So I think you're good for end use and running every toggle (sans SJ...maybe not Sprint unless you get an END RED into it)

Replaced the Heal IO in Health with the Regenerative Tissue: +Regen Unique IO, as it gives you higher Regen.

Moves the slot out of SJ, the 5% Resist to Cold really isn't all that needed. And the 5% Resist to Toxic is overshadowed (imo anyways) by being able to do more damage with a -Resist Proc, instead of 6 slotting Hecatomb.

I basically made it so you could run BF - Attack Vitals Combo - Repeat, when wanted.

Replaced the END/RCH Numina in RTTC with a Heal/End Hami Gogli, for better END RED and better Healing.

That +6% Healing bonus you were going after isn't helping you regen more in either of those powers (HPT and RTTC).

Other than that, I tried to keep it close to what you were doing.

No, it is not a solution; unless you don't use CS, FB and Burst, which is silly. Stalker just do not have the HP to withstand a burst of incoming fire while rubbing the hands doing CS, etc. I am regreting not levelling up a KM/Nin instead. But I will recommand it nonetheless.

Regen goes well with fast animation attacks in order to maintain a health amount HP. KM is just not it. Both ARE good indeed individually; just not so much when mixing them together.

By the way, I used to have a dark/nin at around 40+. With Caltrops, self heal and Water Spout, that stalker can merrily solo +3/2 missions without a fuss.
I'm curious to know which sets you think can go well with /Regen Stalker then, as all of them have attacks comparable if not longer than KM's.

Broadsword and Spines are out pretty quickly. Dark Melee is out with Shadow Maul, Siphon Life, and Midnight Grasp. Energy melee too.

Really, Kinetic Melee's 3 first attacks tend to beat out alot of other sets first 3 attacks. Burst is long, yeah, but it's an PBAOE which a lot of the other attacks lack.

Focused Buirst isn't really considered bymany as part of the regular attack chain with BS - SS - QS - BS - SS - CS being a pretty decent chain.

I have to ask, have you read the scrapper forums?

Dual Blade/ Scrappers have been soloing AVs for awhile. Blinding Feint -> Attack Vitals Combo -> Repeat will gte you up to that point.

So adding in a Defender who debuffs Resistance with every blast while keeping the team alive with some +Defense, and a Troller with a /Thermal with it's own debuffs, not to mention Added +Resist and Heals on the team.

Marvels characters perticularly the mutants would get the respec they deserve if they were not wrote into the same situation over and over again with the whole prejudice thing. Its like they are trying to keep shoe horning the marvel characters into the worst part of our history when racism and such was at its peak. Also if there were more things on the scale of darksied, brainiac, parrallax going in the marvel universe the people would feel they have a need for the heroes. True enough there is the potential to have an anti-hero group like cadmus in marvels universe if the heroes united like the way the justice league did to save the world I do not think it would be as extreme because almost no marvel characters are on the same level as superman.
I don't think they're being shoe horned into it. The prejudice should remain there. They're mutants. The world hates them. Actually making it so the whole world loves all mutants would ruin the comic.

Now, what does work, is a few of those mutants having the public adore them. Beast as an Avenger, I believe had this for awhile, I don't think it's happening currently, and if memory serves, I think the public only loved him in the Avengers comics (maybe Spider-Man) but never really in X-Men.

And like you said. Marvel doesn't really have interplanetary villains to deal with, at least not on the scale of DC. So Marvel heroes suffer a bit more as vigilantes instead of everyone seeing them save the world again!

Pretty good detail on the key differences between the two. CoH falls on the MMOG side of the fence at times.
I get the feeling most MMORPGs fall into the MMOG side of the fense. I also think there's no real way around it, as players choices having consequences on the whole game usually wouldn't work.

I think Praetoria tries to change that a bit, and it works for your character, not so much for every character though.

Tony Stark is a arms dealer and a drunk chauvinist.

Thor should be the one above, but is aloof and doesn't really care too much about being a hero

Bruce Banner is a whiney idiot that Trashes the world as much or more than super villains.

Xavier can be seen as training an army of super powered people

The Fantastic Four unleash chaos on the world in various forms due to Reed messing with stuff.

The only real example of a hero they have that I've seen is Spider-Man and those affiliated directly with him.

Of course, the civilians themselves are fairly d-baggy themselves with cops pulling guns and shooting at people who are clearly not a threat, people accusing heroes of being in league with villains, and various other crap...
Seems to me that the civilians get the heroes they deserve in the Marvel universe, at least the Ultimate Marvel Universe
I never got that impression with Captain America. But like you, I don't read him often (Spider-Man and X-titles tend to be my favorite titles).

Hulk I never saw as a real hero per se. He can it's not really what he is. This also depends on what's going on with him at the time. Full time Hulk with Banner in control he seemed to be a bit more the hero type.

FF tend to be heroes, but at the same time, it's not their focus per se. Same with the X-Men.

In fact, I'd love an X-team that actually had more of a hero theme. Put on the spandex, and acted like a team of heroes much like Spidey.

And that's probably the biggest difference between Marvel and DC. Most of DC style heroes are the type to patrol the city.

Marvel's is less likely to do such a thing. More likely to be sent out on a job, or off doing something and answering the call when something big happens.

Of course there are exceptions to this rule on both sides, but DC seems to be the most likely heroes to for instance to stop a bank robbery in progress than Marvel heroes.

My friends and I have in-character banter during missions, act appropriately in response to clues, and on occasion will even alter our tactics during fights because our characters specifically hate or specifically don't want to hurt a specific group (Doesn't happen often, nor when it's a particularly difficult spawn, but yeah.) I've actually had interactions that consisted of my friends and I street-sweeping mobs too low to grant any rewards and conversing about it, just for the RP aspect.

And I would never kick a non-RP-er off my team, and if they express irritation with RP I stop RP-ing.

This game isn't a game about roleplaying. We're playing a different game on their turf, not vice versa. They get priority.
Not about Roleplaying? I must have forgotten what MMORPG stoof for then.

That said, different levels to the RP. To some it's just playing the avatar, not actually chatting in character, and making that avatar the best it can be, level 50 as fast as can be, ect ect.

To the OP: As stated, we can't even get the community to decide on what's right on RP and what's wrong.

Hell, I've yet to see a RP SG beable to pull that off 100% (maybe a really small one could).

And I've seen the RP Servers in other MMOs. It doesn't help. You see just as many non RPers (if not more) and they don't get removed.

At most in the big gorilla of MMOs all I ever saw was a forced name change on a player.
