Yeah, I think it's the helmet that ruins it.
  2. Ghost Widow for sure.

Statesman as well, though I don't care for the mask. Though I think there's some who wouldn't care for him no matter what he was wearing.

The rest have pretty comic book style superhero outfits imo (except BABS who just wears jeans and a shirt with power gloves), but they just seem to need some work (some more than others) especially Sister Psyche, who's outfit looks terrible in game but works when we see the drawings.

Positron not included in the aove statement.

    Black Scorpion is good.

Sciricco has the worst outfit of Recluses inner circle. The outfit is just lacking.

Primal and Praetorian version of Mynx I always thought needed reworking. As well as both versions of Valkyrie and Swan.

Nightstar is awesome! Lumina on the other hand, not sure what it is about her, just always thought she looked terrible.

    Different maybe.

Yeah, I have a SG member who wants to make their "pure healer concept build" and asked for help with it.

I told them sure, I can help you withit, but I'll never team with you with it.

I mean really...Empathy, with Aid Other, and just the first blast? *sigh*

No. You don't have to do that. You just choose to do that.

    Just saying.

Well, I was using it as a general example of law suits against big business comopanies. And that article proved the point...2.7 million was what the jury awarded (even if it was lowered).

    More options FTW.
Eh, you can get the awesome powers by going to do the patrons. And again, people complained and complained about having to run the patrons, and having their characters tied to a patron.

I see no reason to give more of what people were already complaining about.
  11. I have no Electric Blast characters. And as such I /sign this suggestion knowing it doesn't actually improve anything for any of my characters!

Would make Electric Blast different/better imo.

To me though, while this can be said to be a money grab by the Siegel/Schuster estate, both Siegel and Schuster themselves were trying for years to regain ownership before their deaths, and I think they started the legal process again before their deaths and the estate is continuing the fight as both to honor the wishes of Siegel/Schuster and of course for money.

For the Kirby estate, they believe they have a claim to ownership as copyright laws indicate that ownership is allegedly expiring soon. The issue is whether they really have a claim or if Marvel has the ownership since day one. To me this feels like partly a money grab and partly justice for Jack. I'm definitely for the justice for Jack part.
Seeing this post and others, it really seems to be akin to those million dollar lawsuits against bigname companies.

Were the jury awards the plantiff because the defendant is a billion dollar company, nevermind the fact that the plantiff should of known the coffee was hot.

This seems to be the same thing. Side with Kirby because Marvel's a big company with some possible "I hate what they've done to my comics" mixed in.

I guess, if you simply look at the binary. But even on my def capped scrappers, they're limited to just scrapping. Its annoying when you have to go up against a certain foe (over and over again) in a mission that can screw you and your only option is to scramble to deal with them.

On my Kat/SR who is soft capped with procced out attacks and DA for tanking, can run lots of enemy groups no problem. Then he runs into Devouring Earth with the Guardians and their "you have no defense" power. I have to save BU for them, turn on my stealth sprint and pray I hit them before they summon anything. And if there are 2 guardians in a spawn? Scramble!

For a stalker I can outright kill them and if there are 2, placate and turn the corner so his buddies aren't getting buffs. Things are *easy* when you can plan a whole encounter out and execute it perfectly.

The situation most face with stalkers/scrappers is when you min/max. If the scrap can't plan it out? Build them to just overwhelm the challenge. It basically means if there is a challenge in the game, you build the character so it's no longer a challenge. On a Stalker, the fight is still a challenge because you can lose but if you sequence everything, you turn a challenge into a one-sided fight.

I don't want this to change.

Personally, I think Scraps should be the better DPS fighter. If Stalkers were ever to recieve a buff, I'd like their criticals improved. Leave their base damage lower. Make hidden/placate criticals 3x damage vs 2x and make regular criticals 2.5x damage.

Stalkers should seek to sequence their abilities to overcome challenges vs just building to overcome everything.
Well, that extra damage (2.5x vs 2x) on criticals may be enough to make the difference and even them out.

In the long run even, but still done differently (I don't know for sure).

I'm not against different ideas on how to get there.

Though you say strategy, and then mention two targets. Yeah, when faced against just two targets, that's a way to go...but still...that's just two targets. What about when facing a group of 8 targets?

They also showed up on practically every bill-board in the game, which created some interesting "over-exposure" in certain ruined city zones like Siren's Call.

There's another class of advertising called "institutional ads" whose aim is to keep awareness of the company at a certain level; particularly when they are between product launches and there's no current "shiny" for consumers to get excited about.

While the original real-world ads apparently didn't pan out, the "Clanket" suggests that a well-designed "ad" that was consistent with the game world and whose goal was institutional awareness, rather than sales, could actually be a successful ad campaign.

Players who would ignore a bill-board advertising the newest Ford truck, might well turn around and make a big deal about an ad for the new rocket board that's "built Ford tough".

If you could watch a Ford commercial and then have the Ford Tough Rocket Board added to your game account, that would be an even more interesting situation.

This last form of advertising already exists for at least one brand-name game. The login screen informs you when the RNG has picked your account to receive a bonus, and it gives you a button that you can press or ignore. Pressing it takes you to the commercial, and when the commercial finishes, the resulting "continue" button awards your prize to your account.

As examples, my characters in that game (a mostly social-oriented sandbox) have special advertising-supported items that include an Alienware tee-shirt (looks pretty cool, really; black with the white alien head), Hoodwinked movie posters to put on house walls, and assorted vanity pets including Bambi and Dukey the dog from the Johnny Test cartoon.

If Freedom achieves some respectable user numbers, I could see this sort of advertising (voluntarily watch a commercial, get a power/costume/emote/base furniture as a reward) as a potential revenue stream for Paragon Studios. Especially if they landed advertisers who were willing to customize the advertising to the market and not just run their every-day TV ads.
You know, I had in game ads turned on, and never saw one.

I even went to one where a SG friend was looking at one, and I didn't see it at all.

Now, that is not to say that you need a certain mix of powers to win. This game is great at letting people play what they want to play and still have a great chance at success.

Now, if you want to argue that perhaps Empathy should be updated in the wake of all the "shields" that were converted to AoE instead of single target, then that is something I might agree with. But, to say that Empathy is useless is just plain ignorant of the facts staring you in the face.
I don't know. When teamed with 7 IOed out, defense and damage machines. What's an empath to do if they only have 2 attacks, have no need to use the aoe heal (except maybe on themselves) and thusly no need to use the ST Heal.

Sure rock those Regen/EndRec powers, but that still doesn't mean the team needed them.

So, can +DMG the one person for even more damage...and then attack...with just two attacks. o.O

There's probably others that could be used as well.

As far as the "becoming their sidekick" part goes... Did you forget the part where you betray them, beat them up, and TAKE their power?

EDIT: And to differentiate the Hero ones from the Villain, a new term, like "Tutor" or "Mentor" should replace "Patron".
Now you're just trying to change it to a term you'd think sounds better. In the end, it's still sidekick.

Also, one doesn't have to not have a TF to not be the contact.

They can just as easily make all the Freedom Phalanx members in the Fort Trident base, as the contacts to gain sidekick status.

Nope. Still disagree with the idea of becoming sidekicked (as that's what it is if you're going to do a hero equivalent to patron), and still think it should remain a redside exclusive.

This is just sounding like "I want Gloom/Shadow Meld/awesome Patron Power" without ever having to go redside.

In which my opinion is, then stay with Ancillary which besides lacking a few sets for each AT, covers a lot of grounds on concept (more so once they update them)
  19. And out of those shown, I'd have to agree with their choice, though my namesake would sigh to herself on the product.

I picked up Ageless on my tanker now though, so that has pretty much closed that gap.

As to the two sets, I have to stick with my original comment, both good, choose by personal preference.
How does your WP get in danger from end drain? On my WP scrapper, if any of the -rec/-end powers do land, I have 3 +End Procs, and Stamina/QR working to keep any of it from being a real threat.

In fact the only time I did have a problem with END drain was in an AE mission up against enemies designed to drain the blue bar rather quickly.

And the getting shot full of holes while falling asleep in the middle of combat has never come up?
  23. I love the concept behind Stalkers.

I hate that my Scrapper equivalent can do so much more than the Stalker.

Now for me, my only complaint is the damage. Outside of PvP, I really don't see why a Stalker doesn't just match Scrapper damage mods. They'd still play differently, the Stalker would just dish out more damage.

The lower hit points? I can work around them.

Not to mention some of the powers they removed from the Primaries make me sad. Really, even before the MA buffs, I would have prefered Dragon's Tail to remain and Thunder Kick to be take out.

Now with the buffs, I'd like that change EVEN MORE!
  24. I'd like to see a few more Patron Pools added to cover a few concept areas, while keeping the Patron Pools redside, but just more awesome than the Ancillary Pool.

What really? Hero Patrons? Why would you want that at all? Does no one remember the complaints there were about tying Epic Pools to Villains before?

Not only did you have to unlock them, you have to become a lackey to a villain.

So what now? You want to jump on becoming Statesman's sidekick?

    /unsigned to the OP

I'd say they stack up pretty evenly with INV rough spots being easier on a WP, and WP's rough spots being easier on an INV.

If building strictly for defense...hmmm...I might think INV nudges ahead, but not by enough to make either set a deal breaker.
