Quote:We don't know exactly what that's showing however.Wow, not only is it more damaging than most weapon sets' biggest hitters, it can fit PBAoE sets, defense debuff sets(possibly), has -res, and does smashing damage on top of that?
Why do I have this sneaky suspicion that both Katana and Dual Blades are going to be left in the dust DPS-wise? Heck it might already be the case with StJ.
Momentum was about the same attack having a shorter animation time when momentum was built up.
So, for all we know, that's how the numbers look when you're non-stop attacking, and not at a dead stop and then swinging. -
Quote:^This. She's alive and dead at the same time - the same way that Frostfire is leading the Outcasts in the Hollows while also being a Hero on Peregrine Island.
It's all based in level progression - events from one level will sometimes change by the time you get to another level.
I don't see why people have that hard of a time understanding it.
CoH isn't a static time line, where if they kill of a character at lvl 50, it means they died at the beginning of game for the new character who is now on the same path your character took.
They're giving a story. It's a story based on 1-8 (generally) characters going through the times.
What you (Oedipus_Tex) seem to be asking for would have the game changing with every change they made.
Frostfire was a villain who has become redeemed! We must now eliminate a lot of the Hollows Storyline!
I mean, sure they COULD, and maybe they will at some point, but I doubt it will happen to often.
Look they did that with Galaxy City and people are upset with it (my only complaint is, why can't my level 50 incarnate hero get back and help try to save it/rebuild it when they only have the police to stop you, who I would think would welcome the help).
The game assumes your character found out Hero One became a rikti. Do they end the TF when the first team complete it? -
Quote:Actually. I think that's what people are missing.Well when you toss out the precondition that "such-n-such would be very unlikely in real life" then yes, almost anything within the context of a movie can be taken as plausible.

In real life it's not likely to happen but has and can easily happen again!
They are extraordinary situations/people that pull this off.
You see it happen to Kirk and think "that would never happen or it's so rare it wouldn''t" without thinking "the movie/show is about that extraordinary situation/people"
Yeah, it's a common happen stance in movies. But then again, not a lot of people want to see "Star Trek: The Average Hum Drum Boring Adventurers"
Arrogant But Run of the Mill Captain: All hands to battle stations!
Vulcan 2nd in command: Captain we have a 5% chance of surviving this encounter, with only a .0001% chance of actually winning.
Captain: I like those odds!
*ship blows up*
Kirk is the extraordinary captain. Prime Spock knows this. In fact, watching the movies, all of Starfleet, Klingon Empire and the Romulus Empire knows this. They know it so well, that 70-80 years after his death, they all still know it. -
Quote:Well, the tier 9 looks to have a faster animation and do more damage than Eagle's Claw (I could be reading the in game numbers wrong however...I do better see them laid out in midsSo, any of the number crunchers get their hands on the set yet?

)
But at a quick glance, I THINK the set is going to be less DPS than Martial Arts. But there's also other factors, like are the in game numbers showing the damage on the finishers as if they're being used regularly or with the additional +DMG of being used as a finisher.
The set has more AOE than Martial Arts in that it has a melee cone (50%) and a PBAOE, while MA only has the one PBAOE.
Both the AOEs are finishers, with the third finisher being the Crushing Uppercut (of course).
However the set has a -resist power, and can slot both the -resist procs (however not sure if using the Cone attack is worth it in the ST DPS chanin).
Just playing on feel, I think it's going to be less than MA for sure in ST DPS, but that's just up to level 7 play, so it's later attacks can make up for them for all I know.
The animations look very well done however. It's not like people haven't choosen and done amazing things at Scrapper Primaries that are considered middle of the pack, so if that's the case with SJ, I'm just those who still want nice animations will be okay with the set.
From a strictly min/max PoV, I think some will be let down.
I do think the devs need to get the set as it should be (or where they want it to be) right now however.
I can only imagine the complaints for purchasing a set, and then having it be nerfed if it's to good.
Which I'm sure people will say it needs to be exceptional if they buy it without looking at the numbers first, but the devs can put that at the players feet for not seeing if the numbers fit their criteria before they bought it.
I know the BU power automatically fills up the combo meter, but I have to say, a bit disappointed that SJ doesn't get the +100% Damage on BU (believe it was 64-65%) and not sure if filling the combo bar is enough of a reason to downgrade it's +DMG. -
-
I think people need to look away from the name of the set. They see Street Justice and think BABs! Instead of thinking, is this the type of fighting BABs would do?
Really I don't imagine BABs being much of a fighter that relies on kicks and a spinning back kick (if he tried it, I imagine the effect being something akin to Detective Murtoc in Leathel Weapon).
Super Strength fits his style of fighting, that goes hand in hand with his power gauntlets. -
Quote:Well there's forcing through brute forceWhich . . . I find silly for a bit. The Well is powerful enough to take over individuals across dimensions and fuel Incarnates that (as GG above claims) can fight the Hamidon to a standstill, yet it's not powerful enough to force others to do Cole's bidding. The same Well that allows Cole to give Nightstar, Maurader and others the Incarnate power to stand up to at least 12 to 16 near Incarnates at once. Ummm, lol?
Something doesn't' add up, or there is waaaaaaaay more to the story. (I pray it's the later).
But then I think Cole realizes he can be out numbered just as well, and people may not fear him as much as Hamidon?
Also a difference of "Hamidon is just trying to kill us, you're trying to enslave us!"
The well may also beable to take over a person, but that seems to be limited in how one "accepts" the Well, as well.
Of course it could just be sloppy writing (not saying I could do better mind you) and not paying attention to past elements.
We won't know for sure I guess untill they fix stuff or show us how it all comes together. Or both! -
Quote:Agreed! When looking over the DP/TIME combo, I want lots of the DP powers that I feel are MUST HAVES if for nothing else than I like the powers animations, whether I use the attack often or not.Fire/Time works quite well on corruptor. You don't need many powers from Fire/ , and I felt like I needed ALL the powers from /Time.
Really liking /Time just for the activity it brings. Definitely rolling a Fire/Time on live.
Fire Blast however, go with far fewer attacks, be okay with skipping more of them, and have plenty of room for Power Pool powers/Epic Pool Powers I want to take as well. -
Okay, testing it right now...
Always seems to be a 1-2 punch HOWEVER, the 1-2 punches don't look to always be the same.
Looks like a Jab - Jab and a Jab - Hook animation, and either animation looks like it can be left-right or right-left. -

Quote:Agreed! I think it would be awesome to see it be a 50/50 mix of Smashing/Lethal damage, just because we don't have such a set. I don't think it would give any distinct advantage over any set myself (but I don't know this for 100% certainty), I think it would just make the set just a bit more awesome/unique/interresting and allow future people to say "OMG! Not only is Smashing and Lethal the most resisted damage types, but this set does it both!"It seems odd to me, as well, but the damage type difference between Smashing and Lethal is academic enough for me to let it slide. We have to account for objects as disparate as a sword and a sign, so I can see it, and it won't make my excitement that much worse.
Still, I'd have liked to see it be a mix between Smashing and Lethal, if only because we don't really have that as a set's thing.

Quote:Only if the one of the other universes don't beat us to it.And if we can peek into these other universes will we be able to tape what is seen and broadcast it as uncensored reality TV shows?
And if we can peek into those alternate realities will we eventually be able to cross over so we can dump our garbage and harvest their natural resources?
And if we can cross over will we be able to snatch our alternate selves from those realities so we can use them to harvest organs for transplants? Or use them as test subjects in medical experiments or for testing cosmetics so we can stop the mistreatment of innocent animals.

It won't have an effect on these things happening (V-Ger and the Whales) however, I believe Prime Spock will also give them information on the things to be avoided (it would be the logical thing to do after all).
Get that cloning process started on humped back whales! Take care of V-Ger now! Ect...ect.
Hmmm...curious, didn't Kirk meet the mother of his son in Star Fleet academy? And judging by the movie and the original series, Kirk joined Star Fleet later in the movie than he did in TOS, correct?
As to the worries about Finnigan and the Farugaut, with the time changes, and a lot of the fleet destroyed, these may be non options anyways. Finnigan could be dead now for all we know. The Faraguat destroyed.
Wonder if Spock will tell them to eradicate all the tribbles now, instead of letting them cause a problem later on. -
Making it completely Smashing damage seems odd to me, when you have Buster Sword and a big piece of wood (?) with lots of pointy opjects in it.

Quote:I think so many people dislike Jack they let it feed into Statesman and his counterparts.I think some of you are downgrading Tyrant's power a bit too much - the Hamidon only agreed to the truce because it wasn't able to defeat Tyrant - it didn't go rampaging through South America, Mexico and parts of the South, wiping out whole cities and teams of superheroes sent to stop it, and then suddenly decide to back off a bit because it had a change of heart - Tyrant forced it to agree to a truce by being too powerful for it to defeat.

Of course, Cole may know that in the end he can't beat Hamidon. And a draw when all that's left is Hamidon and it's creations and himself is really a lose.
Though, I would think if Cole could fight it to a standstill, why he couldn't get some backup and take it head on as a group. Unless those in Praetoria are the types to know there will be loses, and they don't want to be part of those loses.
Muarder: Sure! I could help you to defeat it, but the chance of me coming out of it alive is small enough that it's not worth the risk. I plan to stay alive as long as possible.
Others in Praetoria: Yeah. We agree.
Cole: *facepalm* Okay we'll go about this a different way. -
It looks like it's both the tier 1 and tier 2 that have rotating animations.

Quote:soon!sweet!
Nicely done.
So when does the jrpg based on this event come out? With the world being saved by a couple of teenagers, you know it's inevitable. :d

Quote:I thought it was recommended more because it's unique to StalkersYou will definately notice a change in damage the higher level you are when using Martial Arts....it has very nice animations but its smash damage starts getting resisted by everything....in comparison to the Dark Melee you mentioned...you will notice with dark melee you do both smash and negative energy damage....thus it will continue to improve as you level.
All in all though...when playing a stalker you should take a set based on its graphic and play feel more then on statistics and numbers....
As any stalker will tell you...especialy ones that have played alot of the choices...they are all pretty much the same...with small difference...like Martial Arts is single target only for example.....and claws is a tad weaker for damage but hits faster and uses less energy....
As for the Armor.....the Nijitsu Armor set gives you a heal and you dont have to use as many toggles as Superior Reflexes....but they both have the same defenses mostly....but you will find the added toys in Ninjistsu a little more useful...thus the reason most people recommend the ninjutsu defense set.
Ninjitsu also has lower defense than /SR by a noticable amount.
Ninjitsu, EA or WP would be my choices. And EA on a Stalker looks to be quite nice. Easy to softcap, self heal, +RCH, and +END Power. Yummy! -
Wait a minute!
It took Regen getting ported to Brutes to get buffed!
I thought these things worked the other way around!

Quote:I don't know if he made a mess per se. The truce was based on the people acting a certain way, and I doubt the people would act the way he needed for the truce to stay in place any other way.HA!
I knew it.
*feels smug*
Though I gota say, I almost respcet Cole for this. Facing an overwhelming enemy he could have gone down fighting (and taken the world with him), instead he sought peace, he sought a comprimise. Of-course after that he made a real mess of things, but well, there you go.
Also it does make more sense now that there was an army practically ready to go when us primals started showing up. He was preparing for when the truce enevitably failed.
Of course I'm sure the power went to his head. -
I didn't catch all the new power settings, but Chrono Shift seems to be on a 600 second recharge with a 90 second duration.
Surprised no one has mentioned Time/Fire Blast (or Fire/Time Corr).
MM's look to be awesome with the set if they stay in melee range of enemies. -tohit/-dmg/slow resist AOE toggle? AOE Heal? PBAOE +Defense/Regen? What's not to like?
Going DP/TIME myself. A set that will help with DP's lower damage, and help survive in melee?! YES PLEASE!
A bit clickie for a weapon set, with all powers being click except for one, but I think few of the powers will be used often in regular content. -
9.38% Resist to ALL from Resilence and 11.25% Regen Debuff Protection.
Not so sure how the Regen Debuff Protection will play out, but the Resist to ALL is nice! -
OMG! Saw the animations and couldn't decide!
Reroll namesake into DP/TIME Corr OR SJ/Possibly Regen Scrapper! LOVE LOVE LOVE THE ANIMATIONS!
Spinning Strike is probably my FAVORITE animation. -
Quote:Belladonna didn't seem insane to me. Of course you don't really don't get a chance to know her. It's no excuse. Tyrant could have been open about the situation, appealing to his subjects' better nature. Instead he chose to believe they didn't have one, and murdered people he was supposedly trying to save.
I haven't gotten to the First Ward stuff yet (I just started leveling a Praetorian character for the purpose), but this bit with Katie is pretty bleak and doesn't exactly fill me with confidence. By killing off DeVore (pretty much the Only Sane Woman in the Resistance) and forcing the player to throw Katie to the wolves it sounds like the devs chose to erase anything in the 1-20 material that could be considered a victory. -

Two teenage girls save the world!
BrandX (DB/WP Scrapper) and Emiline White (Dark/Dark Corr)
3 hours! Less than 20 deaths! Every mission completed successfully!
Discovered I wouldn't beable to solo it on my Scrapper!
