Really, I think everyone is deserving of a shout-out. I want to thank everyone who's ever stepped up to lead a Hami raid, a Mothership raid, a task force, any sort of event.

I had a similar thing happen a couple of weeks back. I looked it up on my wife's laptop, and everything indicated it being a motherboard issue. (Though some sources thought it was RAM)

I read stuff about (I believe it was called) POST procedures, wherein different beeps meant different things. Usually, my fan starts up, then a beep, then everything begins. It usually takes a few seconds. This time, my fans were going for over 3 minutes, then one beep... and nothing.

I tried plugging my monitor into my onboard graphics plug. It worked. (Albeit at a terrible resolution). I bought a sale video card on Boxing Day for $60, and it works just as it did before.

Things I was looking at said to make sure all of your wire harnesses are firmly plugged in. Try removing your RAM, and placing them in one at a time, in the event that one of your RAM sticks is bad.

Do I? No.

However, based entirely on what I, myself, have seen from the operator... I feel it would be uncharacteristic of him to kick you for that reason alone. I would think there's a history of unrest, but that would be speculation. Again, this is based on what I have seen from him for as long as I've been a member.

Though I do feel he was spot-on for silencing Voltaic.

Let me begin this by saying I'm not in anyone's "clique". I'm a relative nobody. As a matter of fact, I believe I have 3 people on my Global. I am a member of the channel in question (really, it's no secret), and I have seen several people getting kicked, and getting silenced, and really... I don't see the issue.

You seem to be forgetting that the channel has a purpose. I'm sure you know what purpose it serves, by knowing its title. The operator in question (who, might I add, is not a friend of mine) is tasked with ensuring the channel serves that purpose. It isn't heavy-handedness. It's keeping the channel effective for what it is.

I love, LOVE random banter.. but that's not what the channel is for. That's not why I joined the channel. Personally speaking, I'd probably get annoyed if when advertising a Task Force, or asking if there was a spot on a raid, if I had to wade through comment after comment about television. This is what the operator is trying to avoid.

What you're missing in your quote, Bud... is the first part. Where your SG-mate, and other people had been asked to stop that line of discussion. As I recall, more than once. Others stopped, and they weren't silenced. He wasn't silenced for asking about DirectTV, he was silenced for continuing when asked to take it to Tells.

People are always making reference to this supposed power-trip. What power-trip? People aren't arbitrarily silenced. People are ALWAYS warned to discontinue the off-topic chatter before any action is taken.

I find it interesting that you make mention of a "cool kids club". I have never seen you comment in-channel on anyone being silenced, until it was your SG-mate. I didn't even know it was your SG mate until this post.So, why did it suddenly become a problem when it was someone in YOUR "cool kids club"?

Your above post isn't helping the server. It isn't giving a voice to the voiceless... it's doing nothing but perpetuating the drama that you claim to want to end. You could have just said "Join Champion United. We're a channel without topic restrictions", but instead, you made it an "us vs. them" post.

My video card died today, and my wife felt so bad that I will be without my CoH mistress while I'm on vacation, that she spoiled the Christmas surprise.

She got me a 1TB external hard drive... and in a few weeks, a brand new PC will arrive.

Unfortunately, I will be unable to join you in-game (not that many, or probably any, of you know me) over the holiday season. I got home from work today, only to find my video card has died. (Perfect timing, since I'm on vacation for a week!) I doubt the onboard graphics can handle CoX

My wife (wonderful woman that she is) got me a branc-spankin' new PC... that won't arrive until mid-late January.

I live in a city called Brampton. My friend used to say "What's up in the Bramphouse?" I figured that being an inhabitant, I would be a Bramphousian.

I use it on a number of sites. Though, looking at Google, there are a few entries which aren't me, and leave me puzzled.

Another question...

Apparently, I'm an idiot. I was not able to re-up my wife's account. I logged into plaync on my wife's account. Her account is not playable. When I clicked on "Upgrade Account", it kept referring me to start a new account. I entered the same credentials and it said the username was in use. The only code ever applied to this account was the GvE box.

When I tried to put the code anywhere where I was able to enter a serial, it said something to the effect of not being able to enter that type of code.

I did not try to apply on my currently active account.

Any ideas?

Well, I'll use one for my account. I'll re-up my wife's account, until she gets bored of it (usually lasts three weeks or so), and my sister's starting an account, so I'll give her one.

None of my friends have any interest in MMOs, and I have no in-game friends. Maybe I'll use one to mule items, or SG invites to my alts. Maybe I'll give one or two out to some forumites at Christmas.

Ah.

I found a pile of CoV copies at a local store. I didn't realise that you could only apply a box-code once. I bought 6 copies at $5 (CAD) apiece. I figured they worked like the monthly time cards. Bah.

The only box code I have applied to my account is the GvE one.

Quick question - am I correct in assuming that if I were to get a boxed version of City of Villains, that the included month would still work?

I didn't know if, because it's CoV-branded, if the code would somehow be deactivated, or some such.
