Quote:Wow loads of wonderful replies...
thank you everyone... I love the ideas you gave me in the 1st one Dechs ty,
I am now thinking about the sets, would I be better taking your /dark advice and
mixing that with perhaps Thugs as a primary?? Or would i still have trouble in zonal pvp?
Thugs would be stronger against ranged opponents, while Zombies would slaughter in melee. Because their attacks are on longer recharge timers they hit much heavier than most primaries, thus you've got the second most damaging melee primary next to Ninjas.
I will admit that Thugs would probably preform better due to the defense stacked with the -ToHit (even if there is very little of it actually making a difference due to DR).
Stick with what you want/what you like. If you really enjoy being in melee go Zombies, and if you want stronger ranged damage go with Thugs. -
It would be game breaking both in PvE and in PvP (PvP being the lesser issue).

Name his Red Ranger and leave it at that. The Arsonist is just suicidal is all. If you wanna counter-act this always jump into melee with an aggressive trapper mindset.

I'm going to be frank with you here: Necro/Dark is not that powerful in PvP. Yes, I said it, Dark isn't that powerful on a Necro Mastermind because of the need to be in melee almost constantly. No, Grave Knights do not do enough range to compensate at all. In a duel you'll be nigh-unkillable, but in open world, fast paced PvP you'll fall behind.
As for Soul, you picked a decent one. Soul Storm is a heavy hitter in PvP, especially with the end-hold animation. Still wanting to stay Necro/Dark? Fine. Here's a tip, though: Take gloom. I don't care if people say Personals are nearly useless, this thing stacks like a beast with Soul Storm. The DoT you'll pump out with both powers combined will be unholy at best.
Melee is where you'll wanna be, and Blasters/Defenders will shred you if you don't understand how to fight them. Any more than 2 Blasters or 2 Defenders (this is assuming they're intelligent) and you've got yourself a problem. If you're looking for something more along the lines of the occassional duel with a melee AT, then go right ahead. This combination absolutely destroys in melee.
It's a decent combination for ranged IF you build it right (decent being, I guess, more credit than it deserves), but if you build it for melee support then you've got a homerun.
Let me stress this one fact, and that fact is that will want sets despite what others may say. Certain bonuses help certain Masterminds, and in your case you'll want a good amount of recovery bonuses. If you can shell out enough cash for a +Endurance Performance Shifter, Miracle +Recovery, and Numina +/+ you should be ok.
Here is my Pet slottig plan below:
Zombie Horde:
1. Blood Mandate: Acc/Dam
2. Blood Mandate: Dam/End
3. Blood Mandate: Accuracy/Dam/End
4. Sovereign Right: Acc/Dam
5. Sovereign Right: Dam/End
6. Sovereign Right: Acc/Dam/End
Grave Knight:
1. Blood Mandate: Acc/Dam
2. Blood Mandate: Dam/End (or a HO that enhances Acc/Dam/End)
3. Blood Mandate: Acc/Dam/End
4. Sovereign Right: Acc/Dam
5. Sovereign Right: Acc/Dam/End
6. Achillies Heel: Damage Resistance Debuff Proc (optional, could be replace with another Acc/Dam/End HO or a Dam/End Sovereign Right)
Lich:
1. ToHit Debuff IO
2. ToHit Debuff IO
3. ToHit Debuff IO
4. Acc IO
5. Acc IO
6. Acc IO
(Lich slotting is optional in this case. Most people like to use HOs for the Lich to maximize his control factors. Depends on how you want yours to preform in PvP) -

Tired of always wanting to just joke around but are unable to because of the current channel? Looking for a place just to be social and have fun? How about make a racist white joke while I'm not looking?
Then try Infinity Socialites! This new channel is dedicated to letting Infinity users of both sides chat it up, joke around, and team up (although that usually results in a laughing stock of debt, especially when Dude 1 is laughing at how Dude 2 face planted right into Dude 3's crotch).
It's not only a social channel but it's also a place where you can ask for willing sucke- Ahem, I mean fellow channel members (whew, nearly lost it there!) to experiment with content in almost any way. What do I mean by that? Monster hunting in the Abyss/Hive, attempting to duo the Eden Trial, longest ITF ever (my current record is 8hrs 32mins), Stalker-only Strike Forces, and much, much more!
So what're you waiting for? Come on down and be social with the rest of us! -

Thermal is gonna be more of a tanker than Pain. Good resistance debuffs, amazing Single Target debuff, heals, Shields, Nuke Rez, etc.
Not as powerful healing wise as pain, but it'll certainly be slightly more well-rounded, especially since the shields themselves are perma out of the box. -
It was so pretty and strong it survived the Forum purge AND the Forum shift.

Necro/Thermal
Necro/Traps
Necro/Force Field
Necro/Dark
Necro/Storm
Necro/Pain
Necro/Poison
Necro/Trick Arrow -
Go to the Test Center, make a Necromancer Mastermind, and check the powers using the powers tab in the costume editor. It will allow you to see what they look like.

I've read over this and see no point to his idea of "balancing". The current game is balanced as it is across the ATs.

Quote:Protectors heal enough on their own to satisfy the amount of hits the enemies will be smacking through with (very rarely at that).Hmmm...thinking about it, maybe I will skip Repair. How reliable are the pets on healing? I have Fluffy on my D3 and he heals a bit, but I have no experience with the Protectors. I kind of wanted a slot to fit either Vengeance or Hasten, and I think Repair would be the power to drop.
Do you all recommend Hasten for Robo/Darks? I like Hasten, but I've never really felt necessity for it on many other toons before. Plus, I don't like the pinkish hand poofs lol, but I've taken it before on toons with Recharge problems.
Don't worry about excessive healin because you, fluffy, and the Protectores will be PLENTY.
Oh, and hasten is very, very nice no matter you're pairing dark with. Plus it helps keep pet summons up just in case something should go wrong.
