Late to the party here, but The Issue looks pretty damn good considering it's being done alongside an expansion, plus the fact we weren't supposed to get any issue released before Going Rogue.
I want to say thanks to the devs for the extra effort that is being put in. -
Quote:So, what does that mean? Influence doesn't translate to infamy perhaps?Quote:If so, that might be another reason why we're getting the ability to mail Inf to alts in Issue 17.
... and the more I think about that, the more sense it makes. We can't mail Inf across the hero/villain divide, but we can send all our Inf to an alt before we make the transition.
Does this mean we're looking at a third currency, and what about Wentworths, will there be another market not connected to either hero or villianside? -

Getting a temp travel power at level 6, a more player friendly Hollows, and being able to run 15 - 20 in Faultine, makes the early game enjoyable enough for me. New leveling path options are always welcome, so another way to go from 1 to 20 gets two thumbs up from me.
That being said, I'm still hoping for more than that. If it is only 1-20 hopefully it's being designed with the ability to add higher level content, and not be locked into a 20 level limit that can't be changed like our level cap of 50.
The thought of having our higher levels "Ouroboros" back to level 1 to change sides is very meh to me, so I'm hoping that that's not the case. -
Yeah, I'd have to say that article hit the nail on the head. It's time to address the biggest longstanding criticism of the game , which is repetitive warehouse and office maps. I disagree with the opposition to re-skinning, I think even a map re-skinned is a nice change of pace. Today I ran the troll rave mission with the disco warehouse, and even that small difference in the map made it more pleasant to play.
Yes Posi did a wonderful job with very difficult additions he implemented, but the repetitive mission maps are a problem. -

Content and End Game First and foremost, we want to support the things we've already implemented and continue adding content to them, like missions, zones, badges, etc. Not every issue needs to be a brand spanking new system, though these are things that keep us ahead of the curve, and we've done a lot of that during the years. So in the next several months our players can expect more of what they already love -- content ...Players love our missions and zones, so we need to give them more of that. Quote:And as for the rest of 2010, our players can expect content, content, and more content. We're already working on content for our issue post "Going Rogue" and it's some of the most exciting and challenging things we've ever done.
Enough labor intensive new systems. We want to get back on the streets of the city fighting our enemy, and not just standing in a building running simulations.
Bring on the new content -
The Aion Forums made mention of Becketts' taking votes for their Readers Choice Awards. City of Heroes is in the nominations for the best in the scifi/superhero category.
Head on over to massiveonlinegamer.com and vote!

Quote:Aion has a LFT global channel that is on by default, and it works well, with both people looking for a team, and also teams looking to add more. Sometimes it does get filled with off teaming chatter, but all in all , it is a big plus to have.It probably could be a very easy addition to the game.Teaming is another big issue. The game makes you think it is done by the team finder tool, which makes you think very few people are on and hardly anybody is up for a team. While in reality many are hidden from that list (very stupid feature for community aspect imo!), and everyone is on playermade channels that you have to know of instead of using the official team menu.
(The game should have a cross-zone Looking For Team channel that is on by default imo. Only showing talk from your faction and coop zones and not showing in the tutorial zone to not spam when you read.) -
Quote:My observation stands unsquashed.Don't forget, the "usual cast", IE. Forum Cartel, came and squashed his poor widdle observation.
The usual cast refers to those who are instantly defensive when someone mentions the dreaded words "low population".
I don't normally post such things, but the topic was server transfers, and seeing just how low the population of Triumph has dropped, I was curious how things would turn out. More players there, less players there, or things just averaging out.
Being able to admit that the server population is very low, and wondering what the effect on it will be, is not the same as whining about not finding teams or demanding server merges.
I do have to say that I enjoyed the news article 'twas funny. -
I knew when I posted that there would be the usual cast , stating their usual responses. I never said I couldn't find a team, and certainly could have assembled one if I wished. Secondly as I stated originally, in 51 months of playing that is the first time I saw the team search not even truncated in the afternoon. Yes there are more players on after school and work hours are over on the east coast, I didn't say there wasn't.
I'll say again that the game itself did not show enough players to truncate the list at 1 that afternoon.
I switched to Guardian directly after, and lo and behold, enough players to truncate the list. Sorry, the sky is blue whether you say it is or not. -
Quote:42 people found in LFT server wide, just me and 1 other player were in Peregrine.. I thought it was a mistake so I searched zone by zone, 6 Atlus, same for Kings, Steel had the most at 9. Pocket D even had less than 6. Pocket D on the second day of the chalet opening. Not a meaningless observation at all, and I'm sure that the Devs ARE aware of Triumphs population.I was on triumph battling it out with the winter dude with 20+ other players last night.
As always, player observations of server population are meaningless as a measure of actual population. Only the devs know that.
I've never had problems finding people to team with on Triumph and I've been there since the doors opened. It's not Freedom, but neither is it a deserted, dying ghost town. -
I don't know how this whole server transfer will play out, all I know is yesterday at 1pm eastern there were only 42 people on Triumph. Ya know the little "(this list as been truncated )" on the bottom of the team search window? ... It wasn't there, the first time in my 51 months of playing that I've seen that. And during the start of the Holiday Event no less. So even appreciating the gift of server transfers given us, I'm curious how it will pan out.

IGN has listed CO for the Xbox 360 as being in critical condition, they have an interesting quote from Jack in the article :
"Jack Emmert, Chief Creative Officer at Cryptic, told me in February that the technical hurdles to getting a cross-platform MMO up and running were quite high. "I think once there are some standard engines and technologies available, this might change, but I'm unsure that'll happen anytime soon."

Wonderful job Dark_Respite !

I too am happy about being able to walk the walk! Thanks for all these tweaks you guys are adding to the game.

Quote:Two thumbs up for the cross-game PvPing idea.
9. Unfortunately the ''tech'' necessary for cross-server pvp is not here BUT rumor has it that we'll have cross-game pvp. For starters we'll be able to pvp with CO players and show'em who's their daddy and after we're done with them we'll move onto WoW noobz, each issue alowing us to pick on every mmo out there. -

City Life - CoH & CoV General Discussions This forum is for City of Heroes and City of Villains game-related discussions ONLY.
I'm enjoying reading the back and forth between the faction supporters, and also the nudging of Devs for both new maps, and new info! Both of these topics are game related. -
Or even just new map artwork. I always find missions like the Carnie warehouse enjoyable, even though it is a routine warehouse map re-skinned, Any change of pace is appreciated.

Okay last guy behind the rock, you're toast now!!

Maybe it was supposed to be a contraction for " Pet is Now Zone ?!"

To be able to have a few people gather around the card tables in Pocket D, or the Golden Giza and play poker together.

Best of luck in college A_C , and kudos on being the 1st generation , it's not easy starting from scratch.
