Gratz to DB and all competitors. My plan of using a kin to use Syphon Speed got off to a great start, popped a couple of yellow infs and got a succesfull hit on a purple troll. Racing way ahead of the field everything was looking good for a podium finish, until I got Tesla caged by a clockwork, and then killed. Lying on the ground saw DB race past, ressed self, tried to SS clockwork, and promptly died again. Gratz to all who took part, and thanks to Magma Man for acting as race supervisor.

well 1 of the runners has just quit, 6.17 pm, skyway. not looking good for the rest of us.

I might well have been playing this game for nearly 4 years, but this thread just goes to show you can always learn something new ( rushes of to drop really outlevelled radio mission )

well, just got my alt ready for the skyway dash. Decided to go with the kin. defender, so I'll either leave all others behind in a cloud of dust, or ( more probably ) die in about half a second.

i've got my grav/rad to 27. Started it because i teamed a long time ago with a grav and thought 'wow thats cool' as bits of furniture flew all over the place. still love it, crawling slowly upwards. Just play what feels good, stuff the 'fire/kin' fans who only do what is 'now', tommorrow they will be doing something else.

OK, my fire/fire is rapidly approaching lvl 32, so the question is, is Rise of the Phoenix any good? As i understand it, big blast knocking foes down, rez with half HPand endurance and invulnerable. It sounds damned good, but is it?

drop the whole CJ/SJ/acrobatics, dont need it. Get an IO called Karma. Get taunt,the aura is not auto hit, and get Burn into the build, it is the most serious damage

Yes its true unfortunately.

Has to be said though as others have pointed out that getting a team on Defiant is far from hard....just don't expect people to randomly invite you all the time.

well i have only got my F/F tank to level 17, but here are my thoughts.
I love it, the sets combine really well, damage output can be impressive, and anyway the graphics look great. Will take burn at 18, looking forward to it.
Possible downs, very endurance heavy burt that can be offset by good use of consume. Watch out for that Blazing Aura, it is brilliant for taunting and getting people around you, but be carfeul with the aggro management.
My concept build does not include firesword, Ive used it on test and was not that impressed, but it certainly fits your character concept.

thanks for all the advice guys ( and gals ). Think I will give it a go, maybe copy myself onto test and do some alternate builds. If my 'concept' is to gimped, I may have to revise it.

Just created a fire/fire tank and ambled to lvl 6. Looking at the available powers, I see a lot of scondary ( 3 I think ) involve a fire sword. Now the problem is, a fire sword does not fit my character concept. So the question is, can I create a viable tank without taking any of the fireswords, or will my damage output be awful ?

Damn it ! Just changed my cossie to all yellow, wasted one of my free costume changes Oh well, only 20 free ones left

Been meaning to do a raid for a while, and wednesday looks good at the minute. I'll go get the yellow spandex on .
Note : first time on a raid so may require gentle leadership or shouting at.

Thanks for all the advice one and all. Just hit lvl 6 and took siphon speed, really impressed. I like the sound of hover in combat and may go down that route. Once again, thanks to the best MMORPG community.

Just created a kin/dark defender. Looking at the powers, do I need to take a travel power ? Inertial Reduction sounds a bit like SJ, can I survive until lvl 18, or is it better to take a travel power and then respec it out ?

just got to the position of being able to take this, is it worth it

it does not matter how fast it is, it's did you enjoy the journey ?
