    Plant/Psi query

    [ QUOTE ]
Shockwave at 38, has a great big nerf target attatched to it (it wont be, but it should be!). It does more damage than anything bar my melee attack, recharges quickly, is a large AoE.. AND does stuns...

err.... right... thats blanced.... *whistles tunelessly*

I think the reason Psychic Scream is dismissed is its sooo bad compared to Shockwave.. but thats only 'cos Shockwave is so gooood.

Psychic scream is what an AoE should be... lowish damage, reasonable recharge, longish animation. Bear in mind psi damage is the least resisted damage in the game.

If you team (and as a dominator, you should), I wouldnt miss either and slot them both up to the max.

    /em nods in total agreement
  2. I'm with carni. I've got several toons with procs in DoT powers and never ever have seen the proc hit more then once per activation in a non-toggle.
  3. But the accu debuff of hurricane works differently then def buffs. It's a superb debuff, but works only up to short range and doesn't offer protection from ranged attacks anyway.
A lot of times you don't even want it activated unless you have the mobs nicely cornered/in a very controlled environment or to keep a stand protecting the support troops/squishies gathering around you (when swarmed)- as it scatters the mobs all over the place. And ofcourse herding the mobs with hurricane can be very effective, but also tricky as it get's you loads of agro and can cause annoying and dangerous scattering of the mobs instead of bunching them up (preferably in a corner with a freezing rain patch slit under them). It's hard to master, but very rewarding and fun!

But all in all it's indeed not worth using mist to ramp up def. As said mist is better slotted with +res, although when short on enhance slots imho those slots might even be spend better elsewhere and just stick to the 1 or 2 end redux.
AIM would be nice extra, but not as much needed as you don't really need the +tohit with all your def debuffs flying around, but the +dam is nice -your ligtning storm will be buffed by it too Although seeing your current build is pretty light on attacking potential it might be a bit wasted.

Personally i'd take hasten way earlier and go for SS as travel. mist+SS stack to lovely invis. You can use the fly and jump travel temps for vertical movement and thus freeing up 2 power picks... Now you can get neutron bomb earlier which is currently quite late at lvl 47. And maybe also look at taking the cool looking X-ray beam for some extra attack potential.

Also i'd swap gale for O2 boost (or take it as extra instead of the leaping pool) It's a decent heal and very valuable to protect team mates from stun/sleep and also from end drain (sappers? Pffft!)

Go go stormies! You are the undervalued rockers of Paragon city!
  4. Fire/rad is a tested and proved very effective concept indeed. But being open to NEW ideas isn't a bad thing though. Besides it will get boring only fire/rad. Having some other secondaries -/kins would be great- (and some primaries) WILL add to efficiency, variety, effectivity, fun and more.
But do as you please and go stick with the plan you think is best. Fun is foremost and all priority!
  5. [ QUOTE ]
...I would still prefer if we all go fire/rad for simplicity and max bonus, but the most important thing is that we all get the leadership powers methink... mind, Kin, ff etc doesn't really contribute much in this kind of team.

    ...

    [/ QUOTE ]

/kin would be a great asset to a team full of /rad. The heal is much better, SB gives better +recov and +rech then AM. FS (+Siph power) gives way better dam buff then AM and ID takes care of almost all mezz protection and KB prot as well. On top of that wit IR + SB you can skip travel powers making more room for other powerpicks (i.e all the leadership).
You'll be a bit lighter on the debuffs indeed, but having at least 2 kins to spread the buff load leaving 6 rad is good enough RI/EF/AM/LR/CC and you'd be killing so fast that anchors don't live long anyway.

*Argh, you were faster then me Fu Arch. I was just editing the mix up of siph speed and sb +rech

    howling twilight

Hehe. It was more a retorical question, but good to see it livens up the imagination. This experiment would be nice.
I got a dark def on union for offer...
  7. Aye indeed. And fear can be broken, holds not.

    howling twilight

Is there a cap on it anyway?
  9. Screech!!! Having a mezz -stun in this case- is always nice Can stack it with (before) your nuke to stun bosses too.

Scream is nice for stacking more -res and dam output, but if you think you have too much to do already and can't fit it in your chains, then it's not an option i reckon.

Again Screech; just take it and love it. And it also helps to stack the -res. Put some nice stun set IO's in it (2 of those sets can provide you with a +recov bonus from 2 pieces each -razzle dazzle +2% and stupify +2.5%)
  10. Ofcourse you do and there are indeed, so?
  11. Nice combo. Good control, excellent debuffing. Very good in teams, boring safe but very slow solo.
And the AoE hold is imo the best of any troller primary, but it doesn't work like Spectral Terror at all. That's a fear, gasses is a hold.
  12. PB is bril and if you think you don't have big end probs without CP, it's really worth taking it asap.
Despite it notoriously being bugged, PB seemed to work constantly with transfusion on a kin troller when i took it for a spin recently on testserver...then again maybe it was a lucky day
Anyway it might not work well on heal, but it doesn't work on your res debuffs either, so for you being /sonic PB it's loosing a great deal of it's excellence. Only the stun from the nuke and screech are increased and making able to you one shot drain bosses ofcourse
Still a nice dam (and accu) buff though!
  13. I agree, being an exclusively squishie player the unique KB IO's are a pure bless to me
Oh and as far your stealth pool concept goes, maybe a stealth IO in IR would do?
  14. Must have been before they increased range a few patches ago. The range on it now is decent. Admittedly shorter then the other blasts, but manageable and it does very high damage. Being a kin most of times you should be close to the mobs anyway. And the recharge isn't that long. Also it works well to stack the -res more.

Siph power gives nice (multiple stacked) extra dam buff and that's what you are all about after all. And indeed it does great debuffs to boss/EB/AV types and able to stack it nicely thanks to not so long recharge. You can use it from range just the same without having to go in melee as you have to for FS. (making smoother positioning for your cones)
  15. You missed out on your best attack: shout (and siph power too)
Since you have 2 travel powers you could swap one for it, unless it's needed for the concept ofcourse.

    GRATZ TO ME

Congo Rats on your first 50 flame fire!
I remember you because you left the team in the middle of a mish right after you got your big ding...
  17. That's why we call you 'teh ubah pawnstar'
  18. Aww, you got me there. Never thought of that. I always like them chimps tagging along. They are on a short leash though, because when they break loose...

    Sentinel

Just fumbling around in mids hero planner with a kin/elec and wondering about a few things on the sentinel.
Since it's a non-affected pet i guess it's not buffed by FS AFTER the pet is casted, but is it buffed if you hit FS BEFORE you cast it? Mids planner says so, but i like to have some testimonials from the field.
Also iirc it being non-targetable you get all the agro it generates right? And i assume it doesn't need accu slotting?

Seems nice to me to have some extra 'fire and forget' dam since being a kin is a pretty busy job already, but all in all im not sure wether it's worth it on a kin/elec.

    Opinions!?

I have seen plenty of kins not using SB and plenty of empaths not using fort.

    [/ QUOTE ]
    >.>

Just because I forget to SB alot doesn't make me bad! It's just that other things I do benefit the team more

    [/ QUOTE ]

Oh yes, it does make you bad. Prolly you are just too busy sb'ing your chimps all the time. ("No spirit you can't stack sb on your imps"... "But plz, let me try..." "I'll tell you for the last time, not even sb'ing your pets 5 times like you been doing all along won't help. Instead go help and sb the team pls" "Okay")
SB cries out to be passed aroud the team continiously, except for some poor ppl who can't handle the speed.

BTW to top it all i've seen a kin WITHOUT sb. Think he was lvl 41 or something.
And that was apart from the funny and team unfriendly build /kin corrupter experiment running around on union with tough+weave
  21. I think MA might have been mentioned because of the stuns for toggle dropping, including any shields.
  22. *Cough cough. Aww it doesn't? Must have screwed my head on upside down after my siesta. But /TA does have a slick surprisingly and coincidentally convenient.
Anyway Son will get a slick in the future, mark my words!! One day... and then we'll see whose laughing last.
  23. In (bigger) teams ill/storm is really bad unless you have some other troller(s) spamming -KB immobs a lot. All the KB just makes it awfull for the melee types and AoE massacre as well as control is just totally ruined by it.

Apart from that it's a very nice combo

Fire/son. Very yummie on paper, now if they just ffs fix oilslick after 1,5 year of us asking and asking so it doesn't render your nice little gimps near useless.

And as far solo goes as said:
    prime--> fire/ill/mind/grav
    second--> rad/storm/kin
For teaming: all is good as much as you like it. (ah except ill/storm as said above )
