  1. Hi and welcome LSK! I hope to see you on Liberty for some Mo Runs!

Yup, i can confirm this is what happened me as I made sure to log out before global servers were activated with my main toon.

I got my global name change though. Looks like @Blue Blaze was already taken by an american which i wasn't happy about as I ahve had that global since globals were launched.

I am now @EU Blue Blaze!

If by some miracle I manage to retain it after the merge, I will be both gobsmacked and a lot happier.

How did you guys find out that your global is bing used on the NA servers? Did you get an email?

I think most would prefer if we get both prepended with EU - so I'd become "EU Master Zaprobo" if there was a conflict. This is assuming nothing else could be worked out.
    This I could live with...

  7. Being Irish, the first thing that came to mind when I read this ' You can **** right off!!!! I want to keep my global name' - cos you know, we irish just have to curse or it doesn't sound right!

But I took a deep breath, held of on my response and took time to read all the posts.

There is lots of talk about what is fair and what is unfair. I think customer loyalty should be rewarded here as that is the fairest thing of all. Months played/Vet Rewards translate into one thing, Money! And you should reward your loyal customers who have paid the most by letting them keep their global. Quick tally and I calculate I have paid NCsoft over €800 for the last 6+ years. Thats not including expansions and perks i have paid for (would bring the total to almost €1000).

If I have the same global name as a NA account and they have only paid $100, I would feel pretty annoyed and i would feel betrayed by paragon studios if that NA account got to keep the global and I had to change!

I understand that the NA player base is larger but it really feels like the minority is getting screwed here. I also concur that the EU servers usually do get the crappy end of the stick. While a single server list will go a long LONG way to rectify this, this name change issue/system needs to be thought about very long and hard before implemented!

    /em, endrant
  8. Like the title says, I'm looking for a macro or Bind that will activate Build Up, Conserve Power, Power Boost and Boost Range from my blasters secondary set (Energy Manipulation).

I usually wait for all 4 to be recharged before I activate them. (they are usually back up around the same time or close to it with hasten and if I am lucky to have a splash of AM). Instead of having to click all 4 powers, i was thinking I could replace them with 1 Marco or a key bind and give me space on my power tray for something else....

Any thoughts if this is possible?
  9. Please keep the criticism/praise coming. I am interested to know what ppl think of the build/alpha slot i have used.
  10. The description of the power is: If, however, you attack while using this power, you will be discovered and will lose your stealth and some of your defense bonus.

Just wondering can anyone tell me how much defense one actually loses from Stealth when you attack? (more importantly, how much you actually retain).
  11. That does help. Thanks!

WOW, it doesn't seem like a whole lot tho does it... maybe when the Paragon slots become available and 2/3's by basses ED...

  13. In Mids this morning and putting in my build for my fire/fire tank. As Mids doesn't support the Alpha slot yet, I was wondering could someone tell me how to calculate its effect?

I am specifically interested in Damage Resistance as I have gone for the Cardiac Radial Boost (Reduces Endurance cost by 33% and Increases Damage Resistance effects by 20%).

I went for this as I usually run about 8/9 toggles along with hasten and find my tank is pretty endurance hungry. I am more interested in trying to up my Res levels for lethal and and smashing Resistance. Current Figures are below. Question is, how do I calculate the extra 20% bonus that Cardiac Radial Boost gives:

    Smashing: 70.9%
    Lethal: 70.9%
    Energy: 47.3%
    Negative: 50.4%
    Fire: 90%
    Cold: 15.8%
    Toxic: 3.1%
    Psionic: 12.4%

    Thanks
  14. Anyone know if this badge is bugged? Swiss Draw arena matches seems to be doing funky things and awarded the badge randomly to ppl.

Just wondering has anyone done it recently and if so how did it work out?

Just wondering has there been any update from the Dev team on this? Je_Saist has posted a topic on the AMD/ATI fourm (I 'bumped' it yesterday as it hasn't gotten any responses).

That's a crossfire configuration. Games will only leverage both GPU's when they support Crossfire. If don't believe me, download GPUZ and turn Crossfire off in the Catalyst Control Center, then play a game in windowed mode and watch the sensors on GPUZ. Only one GPU core will be used.

Then do it again with Crossfire enabled. Both GPU cores will be enabled and utilized.

City of Heroes Ultra Mode is the first commericially released fast-pass OpenGL title to leverage the 3.x API.

Basically that means it's the first Video game to use OpenGL to render graphics as fast as possible using the OpenGL 3.x Application Programming Interface.

The lack of OpenGL 3.x game titles on the market basically mean that neither Nvidia nor AMD/ATi engineers have had practical code samples to optimize their drivers against, which in turn means that Multi-GPU support at the driver level is immature at best. More OpenGL titles are on the way, and driver support for the OpenGL 3.x API, and the 4.x API, will improve as Nvidia and AMD/ATi engineers have more real-life examples of code to work with.
Your kung fu is strong! I bow in your presence!

Where do you get your info?

B: I'd suggest you actually wait and don't buy anything.

Television has a (couple) of multi-gpu modes running on the test server. The Nvidia SLI test mode allows SLI'd GTS 250's to run Ultra Mode details cranked and managed 20~25 average combat FPS in 1680*1050 against Socket AM2 Athlon64's / Phenoms and Intel Core 2 Duos. It's been indicated that there's quite a bit more headroom to be found in multi-gpu setups.

Ergo, when multi-gpu support is stablized and moved into Live, your 4870 Crossfire setup will likely be able to drive a 1920*1200 resolution with all details maxed.
Hey mate, thats for the reply.

My rig is pretty decent. The 4870X2 is one card not a crossfire configuration. I also have a quad Q6600 2.4GHz and 8 gigs of ram (vista 64).

So you are saying that they are still stabilization the code and that over the next few weeks and months improvements will be made to Ultra mode?
  18. Hi All,

I am just wondering has anyone manged to run ultra mode all maxed out and if so which card did you do it on?

I am currently running a 4780X2 at about 3/4 of the full potential of Ultra mode. I am looking to improve upon that before GR comes out but also want to future proof the card for about 6 months from then onwards (up to about Christmas). Anyone have any suggestions?
  19. I am currently running the Gainward Radeon HD 4870X2 2GB GDDR5 which is a pretty decent card (cost me over €500 about 1 year ago). I love this card but my only problem is that AA is not great with COH’s and is pretty noticeable. Anyone know how I can fix this or is it just not doable?

Also – how will UM be handled with ATI cards once GR is release?
  20. So I am thinking about buying the 6 months get one month free promotion. It's a free month at the end of the day and my account is now 4 years old so not gonna be unsubscribing anytime soon.

My questions is if I pay for the 6 months up front, does that give me access to the next 2 vet rewards instantly (1 vet reward for every 3 months) or do I have to wait for the time to pass first before I receive them?
  21. I'm usually not one to b*tch (honestly) but I am a little annoyed at the pricing here. Given the current exchange rate between the Pound and Euro (and the current economic climate), I would have though prices would have been more reflective of said...

    Today’s exchange:

    £ 5.99 = €6.73
    £9.99 = €11.22

    That is all
  22. Sorry to see you go mate! I hope the powers that be see the error of their ways when someone like yourself leaves the game. You shall be missed but hopefully you get your wish......

    All the best!
  23. Happy Bday mate! Have a good one!
