Isn't time we have shiny Energy Vanguard Wings as a costume option to go along with all the other Vanguard stuff?

I have a level 50 Force Field/Electric Defender and a level 38 Sonic/Sonic Defender. Neither of which are seeing a lot of play right now on their respective servers.
I am thinking about moving one or the other of them to my most active server. Ideally, I am thinking of moving the Sonic Defender because I am wanting to get him to 50.
Does the Sonic Defender's bubble work well enough to prevent the stuns that occur on a Mothership Raid?
Also, I think the added resistance from sonic shields would be helpful in the ITF-- and also the detention field for the Healing Nictus. -
I'd be happy if we could permanently buy the alt-colored Goldbricker jetpack for a onetime fee.
-
Just got back from seeing it.
I am not a Seth Rogen fan, but I had a good time. -
Quote:Ugh, when it comes to dates in this game's canon, it's like "roll dice for a date".
And if Ghost Widow can feel jealousy, longing, and whatnot, who says she can't feel love? I'd love to make a video shipping her and Scirocco to "The World is Not Enough" by Garbage.
As for the other ships...
Clockwork King + Penny Yin= "You're Sixteen, You're Beautiful, and You're Mine"
Nemesis + Clockwork King = "Steam Heat"
Statesman + Faultline = "Accidentally in Love"
Fusionette + Swan = "Bad Romance"

Belladonna was a Night Widow before she was a ghost. Night Widows are supposed to be masters of seduction and betrayal. I have no doubt that she could make almost anyone she wanted fall in love with her.
I just don't think she'd return it.
That being said, I don't think she'd appreciate it if anyone turned Scirocco's eye from her. -
For Luminary and Citadel (or Luminary and ANYONE) I'd say their song is Was (Not Was)'s "Robot Girl."

Quote:Eh. I'm just assuming that Praetorian Shalice has been stealing bodies a lot longer than Primal Shalice did.As I recall, Primal Steven was a high paid corporate accountant which means he may have been just as smart as Praetorian Steven, he just didn't study the same field, or perhaps the imminent threat of extinction caused Praetorian Steven to apply himself more. However, it seems mildly odd to get hung up on possible disparities in Steven Barry's I.Q. given that Shalice's birthday differs by decades between the 2 universes.

They've got me interested enough to watch next week.

Quote:Scirocco always wants what he can't have ... he and Clockwork King should get drunk together and commiserate about their crushes.I always assumed Battle Maiden WAS an alternate Valkyrie: But the War Earth one, not Praetorian Earth One.
Btw. I still ship Scirocco/Ghost Widow.
Come on, it's canon!
Also, I always feel sorry for beating up Bobcat at the end of Tin Mage.... We were BFF's!
IMO, Ghost Widow is not capable of love. -
Watching The Cape. It's holding my interest so far.

Quote:Primal Earth Steve is not a super scientific genius, Praetorian Steve is. That's the dichotomy.Actually, it does make sense - all the rest of the Freedom Phalanx and the Vindicators have their evil versions in Praetoria, so there's no reason for Steven Berry not to be Neuron - he's an evil scientist who experiments on other people instead of being a hero who got his powers from being experimented on by evil people.
Not that Praetorian Steve is evil, but that he's smarter than his Primal counterpart. -
That never did make sense to me. I always wanted Neuron to be the counterpart of someone other than Steven Berry ... preferably the guy who gave Berry his powers on Primal Earth. (Professor Null from the Freedom Phalanx novel.)

Quote:I'm assuming the show won't even get a season. Not enthused.
Sure the winner gets a one time prize of $500 but it doesn't say that they will be given any credit for creation of the character. And NBC can use any of the characters they like even though only one person is getting the prize. Sounds to me like they are trying to get a season or two worth of creativity for less than they would pay a regular writer to come up with a few concepts.
Their next contest will probably be "Write a script and win an autographed picture of Summer." -
If the Devs are stating they retconned it then that doesn't mean that it wasn't originally intended to be so. It means they changed their minds.
Actually, I find that sort of a pity. Sort of makes Emperor Cole a bit blander than he was before. Now he's just a power hungry guy like Recluse and Nemesis. Without the "Ewww" factor he's not quite the same Tyrant he used to be. -
Quote:Ah, I see Denial isn't just the name of a river in Egypt.Except that there was none. Other than that attributed by people who should go ask the gutter for thier minds back.
(In the Praetorian Arc in the City of Heroes comic book, written either by Manticore the Dev-- or just input from him; I don't recall which-- even Neuron is weirded out about the relationship that Domi has with her Grandpa.) -
Quote:Most of us didn't grow up with an immortal grandfather.I don't think Statesman's daughter and grand daughter would mind him dating - it's just that Desdemona appears to be portrayed around Ms. Liberty's age, haha. Let's face it, if your grandfather was suddenly dating someone who was your age, you'd be mildly uncomfortable, wouldn't you? XD
And the thought of Marcus dating someone her age is probably not nearly as uncomfortable for Miss Liberty as knowing about the relationship her alternate self (who she met) has with her grandfather's double! -
Lady Grey would chew Marcus Cole up and spit him out.
She's a "By Any Means Necessary" kind of woman. (Vanguard works with heroes and villains, remember? They're only concerned with defeating the Rikti.)
(Besides, I think she has her eye on Dark Watcher.)
(Or maybe Nemesis.) -
Quote:Heh. Well, as far as we know, Marcus has been celibate and single ever since Monica died ... that's more than twenty years now.I'm already dreading how Miss Liberty and her daughter Ms. Liberty will respond to a possible pairing between Statesman and Desdemona. XD
Surely they'd be okay with him dating NOW ...
(Or maybe not. Maybe he's waiting for them to both die before he resumes dating.)*
*Anyone remember Night Court? There was an episode about a couple of brawling older folks. Judge Harry asks them why they haven't divorced, and they reply they don't want to upset the kids and they're waiting for the kids to die before they get divorced. -
Quote:I had the feeling from the original lore of the game that Statesman was supposed to be romantically interested in Shalice (the whole staying by her bedside following the RiktiIIRC, States gave them bottles of wine from the Three Sisters Winery (read the WEB OF ARACHNOS novel for more info). This is apparently quite the gift, considering how potent this stuff is.
There, still, is a couple that mystifies me. I would have sooner paired SP with States than with Manticore (that whole ageless thing). Meh.

War-- and didn't he blow his top when Calvin Scott endangered her life to free Aurora?),
but nowadays I don't think they'd be a good match for each other.
Shalice, like Manticore, is entirely willing to use questionable means to achieve noble results. Sister Psyche isn't like the comic book telepaths-- she's a mind controller.
She would have no problems turning someone's brains to tapioca pudding if she thought
it was necessary. (Witness the fact that she stole a mad scientist's genius in one Redside Arc.)
And her bio states that she preserves her own youth by essentially hijacking the bodies of other people.
In other words, if Aurora had not volunteered to give Shalice her body it would not have been surprising at all if Shalice hadn't "found" herself one ...
The relationship that Marcus and his wife Monica had must have been epic to last as long as it did ... it sort of makes me wish we could encounter Maiden Justice during some time travel events. She must have been one heck of a lady ...
The only character in the game that I get any kind of romantic vibe for Statesman now is Desdemona. She is basically in the same place in her life that Marcus Cole was when he first became Statesman-- leaving behind a life of crime with a possible future career as a hero. -
Quote:Well, to be fair, given that he was talking about power proliferation he was lucky to have one person in his audience. Goodness knows I was disappointed in the topic of his speech.*sniff* In the mission where you need to fight him, if you solo it...only 1 person decides to show up to his meeting, next thing ya know, he gets socked with my Bane Spider Mace, what a horrible day.
Re: States' love life. Anyone else remember how he was the guy who sat by Sister Psyche's bedside from weeks while she recovered from the Rikti War ... only to get pushed aside for the lil shrimp with the bow?
Women. Go figure ... -
As the title says, I am home sick today.
Don't have Netflix and I don't feel like going out to rent something.
Anyone have a suggestion for something to get from OnDemand?
I was thinking about maybe the Sorcerer's Apprentice, but I'll entertain other suggestions.
