Not that Praetorian Steve is evil, but that he's smarter than his Primal counterpart.

That never did make sense to me. I always wanted Neuron to be the counterpart of someone other than Steven Berry ... preferably the guy who gave Berry his powers on Primal Earth. (Professor Null from the Freedom Phalanx novel.)

And the thought of Marcus dating someone her age is probably not nearly as uncomfortable for Miss Liberty as knowing about the relationship her alternate self (who she met) has with her grandfather's double!

I had the feeling from the original lore of the game that Statesman was supposed to be romantically interested in Shalice (the whole staying by her bedside following the Rikti
War-- and didn't he blow his top when Calvin Scott endangered her life to free Aurora?),
but nowadays I don't think they'd be a good match for each other.

Shalice, like Manticore, is entirely willing to use questionable means to achieve noble results. Sister Psyche isn't like the comic book telepaths-- she's a mind controller.
She would have no problems turning someone's brains to tapioca pudding if she thought
it was necessary. (Witness the fact that she stole a mad scientist's genius in one Redside Arc.)

And her bio states that she preserves her own youth by essentially hijacking the bodies of other people.

In other words, if Aurora had not volunteered to give Shalice her body it would not have been surprising at all if Shalice hadn't "found" herself one ...

The relationship that Marcus and his wife Monica had must have been epic to last as long as it did ... it sort of makes me wish we could encounter Maiden Justice during some time travel events. She must have been one heck of a lady ...

The only character in the game that I get any kind of romantic vibe for Statesman now is Desdemona. She is basically in the same place in her life that Marcus Cole was when he first became Statesman-- leaving behind a life of crime with a possible future career as a hero.

Well, to be fair, given that he was talking about power proliferation he was lucky to have one person in his audience. Goodness knows I was disappointed in the topic of his speech.


Re: States' love life. Anyone else remember how he was the guy who sat by Sister Psyche's bedside from weeks while she recovered from the Rikti War ... only to get pushed aside for the lil shrimp with the bow?
