Sonic Defender for Mothership Raid and ITF

I have a level 50 Force Field/Electric Defender and a level 38 Sonic/Sonic Defender. Neither of which are seeing a lot of play right now on their respective servers.

I am thinking about moving one or the other of them to my most active server. Ideally, I am thinking of moving the Sonic Defender because I am wanting to get him to 50.

Does the Sonic Defender's bubble work well enough to prevent the stuns that occur on a Mothership Raid?

Also, I think the added resistance from sonic shields would be helpful in the ITF-- and also the detention field for the Healing Nictus.

I'm not entirely sure what magnitude the Rikti stuns are but anecdotally I've never really noticed getting stunned by them when I'm standing inside a bubble but I guess if they managed to stack a few it might get through.

The magnitude of the stuns isn't too bad, but if the raid group isn't keeping on top of the Magus spawns, you might be facing a *lot* of them. In a typical raid, the mag 6.9 protection from my Mastermind's FFG is enough to keep people going, so the mag 8.6 from Sonic Dispersion should be sufficient as well.

Sorry, from experience with my FF/psy and what others have posted, caging the healing nictus isn't gonna happen, either by forcefield or sonic defender. However, it has been reported that in the Statesman TF the cage powers work fabulously on the Lord Recluse pylons.

The bubble is pretty good at stopping the stuns, but the Rikti toss a lot of sleeps around as well, and if you are slept the bubble stops working, even though it stays toggled on since its defensive. Bring breakfrees. Otherwise, people love having one or two bubblers on MS raids, not only is it a handy focal point to stay under but it tends to keep the other support from getting constantly mezzed, which means they can keep debuffing, buffing, healing, etc. and everyone stays alive better.

FYI Force Field makes out better against sleeps because they can be deflected with Psi Defense. The Rikti version are pure Psi attacks (at least they are if they are based on the player version of Mind Control), so Ranged and AoE don't protect you. Luckily, Dispersion Bubble has some Psi defense built in. Capping to Psi with IOs is very possible with the right slotting but also very expensive. I have a build for Elec/FF that is capped to everything but Melee, although I've never bothered to take things that far.

I love bringing my Son/Son to MSRs. Not only can you protect from stuns w/your big bubble, you can also cast Clarify on your teammates (not to mention shield them) to protect from sleeps as well. Clarify + Dispersion Field should keep all your teammates very safe, as long as you don't get hit yourself. Unfortunately, you *will* get slept, and prolly quite a bit, so bring BFs. Any time I announce I'm a Son/Son on an MSR, I'm snapped up in a hurry.
