Quote:Ewww - do I really want to prepurchase GR and anticipate moving my hero to villain and vice versa and create new rogues, only to have the new zone and new characters flash by due to a double XP weekend a month after release? Umm -no..I haven't heard about either event coming up, but with four new powersets on the way I could see a 2xp weekend being on the schedule for sometime after the 17th. Perhaps sometime in September?
And I doubt the devs want it that way either.
just my opinion -
Most of my cohorts from east coast to west coast are on in the evening hours - so from 4pm your time til 10 or 11pm your time. I generally see a large population during these times, and thats 7 days a week (sundays might be a little slower tho)
-
trick or treat - Halloween events
Lord Recluse Strike Force
Rikti Mothership raid
Hami
Giving prezzies on Christmas event -
Yes, but might schedule for that week's friday (20th) instead of the actual release tuesday the 17th (give them a couple of days to work out kinks)

I know someone who was able to re-up their account over the phone so I dont see why you couldnt do the same in requesting to purchase a booster pack and have the code added to your account. - But, I dont work for NCSoft, so not positive you can do it, but you can always try.
-
This isnt actually true.. Vanguard merits can be used for an additional 10 salvage slots on your toon, you can get a 'vanguard heavy', you can buy protection from rikti psi attacks and more - along with vanguard costume slots
-
Only from the NCSoft store... Have you tried simply calling them and paying for the booster pack over the phone?

Welcome to the game !
Most people have so far mentioned trying out a scrapper or defender or blaster...
I would suggest something completely different.
Let your darkside out and become a villain... ! Oh its sooo much more rewarding giving the good guy the beat down, or just stealing from other thieves.. Ahh ... It gives me shivers just thinking about how much fun it is to play a villain and beat up the longbow or complete a strike force from Lord Recluse.
Trust me.. You'll love it.
And even tho it is villains, most of us are pretty polite and helpful to newcomers

completely aside from your question, I find it funny that I ran right past you last night and am now reading a post you wrote. Only reason I remember is because of your toon's crazy look and name
Might have been at university in Cap
"rainbow widow" -
Look for me there ! Hopefully Ill be able to grab a spot. Who knows.. might be enough for 2 MM teams to run it
PS - Ive done this before on Freedom, and it really isnt THAT bad although mission 3 becomes lagfest no matter what your computer's build. -
Sounds like a recurring nightmare of the good ole days right after I8 (or was it I7) when this would generally happen to anyone that was in the middle of running the Lord Recluse Strike Force

Quote:Frankenslot - mix and match til you get the max effects you want or need without going overboardTypically, for any character I make, regardless of build, when given the option to add new enhancement slots every other level, I prioritize the powers I find most useful or have had the most struggles with in performance, to a maximum of 3 slots. When buying enhancements, I first focus on which of my powers allow for accuracy enhancements and fill those up. If all of my accuracy powers have been fully enhanced, I usually try to boost recharge speed on the others I can unless they use a lot of endurance (or unless they're travel powers, in which case I try to boost my speed). If they use a lot of endurance, I decide whether it's more important to increase the effect of the power per use or decrease the endurance it takes from me.
I'd like to pick your brains and ask, is this the most effective way to use my enhancements? Would you change anything in general, or in specific builds? What do you do with your characters?
(5% Toxic resistance anyone)
Sometimes what works for one power isnt what you want on another. At lower to mid levels, I will sacrifice a slot of endurance for a slot of damage, IF the power Im adding that damage to is a major attack power or a nice AoE power. But, If its my first attack power, at level 50, I will only have it 4 or maybe 5 slotted usually since it is the least damaging in most cases. -
Quote:I have done this so many times in the past, and especially before their were respec recipes. It was brutal when you realized you screwed up the build.
But seriously, download Mids...so incredibly useful for character building...I cant waste hours trying to tweak a build....only to come back to 2 days later and wonder what I was thinking as I retweak
Frog
Not too bad these days tho. Easier to get a respec now and with hero planners available, it makes life SO much easier. -
Um yes.. all probably too many to list. My suggestion is jump right in and then ask questions when you arent sure..
edit - I say this because I just returned 6 weeks ago after being away from the game for almost 2 years -
Sorry I missed this one - sounds like a good time had by all - I ended up being attacked and killed by girlfriend aggro last night and was unable to attend.

I actually have my 50 set up on Energize with 3 Golgi 52+ (Hami origin) Heal/End Red, 1 IO heal and 2 recharges= 700+hp heal and recharges in about 45-50 secs. Add that to a maxed out Heal Self of 600+hp (3 heal 2 rchrg, 1 interupt), and I can tank like a S o B by alternating between the 2 heals when needed. Mobs of +2/+5 can be handled fairly well depending on the enemy.

So.... Ive got this toon thats been sitting forever in the low 40s. Broke him out for a while the other day and ran some missions and got him to 43, and am going to break him out again tonite to play, but honestly.. he is soooo boring. Its almost become more of a chore to get him to 50 than he is worth. The damage he deals seems to be very minimal with the blades and thats using lvl 45 straight IOs with most slotted for 2 (pending 3) dmg slots, 1 acc and 1 rchg. And having to follow along the pattern to gain the most benefits when fighting with him is also a big pain.
At this point, I dont know if I should even keep him around. Trying to figure out if I want to just delete him and free up a spot or hang onto him in hopes he will pique my interest again.
Only thing is that I remember it was not easy getting him up to 43 and with only 7 levels left to go, wouldnt it be a waste to delete him? (Heck, Ive even got his level 50 build all planned out when it comes down to respec time)
Thoughts? Opinions? -
Ill back "Dark" as secondary as well. Ive a 50 MercDark and he is a blast to play, and fully IOd out, is a lot stronger than most teams think he is.
