  1. Stupid thread title now has the song ♫Video Killed the Radio Show♫ stuck in my head. Thanks.

Other than that, not being a Mac user, nothing to suggest, other than that a game reinstall will (I think) effectively uninstall/delete the vidiot files, putting you back at ground zero. Might still be preferable to a borked game...
  2. Honestly, my d/d/d corr (respecced from d/d/sm) went easily from 1-50, but out of personal curiosity I took a "different" route with him - I slotted nearly everything on him except Twilight Grasp with -to hit. I was soloing +3 Ballista EBs. If they were lucky, they managed to hit me 1-2 times in the fight, while I just ground them down. My fights with GW and LR were much the same, if a bit longer.

    A build fascist.

Next time, ask them to instead kick everyone else from the team that doesn't have Recall Friend and see what they say. Hilarity usually ensues.
  4. I still think we should delete all the level 54 signature characters; that'd have to free up something.

    I blame Oroborous.

    And Canada.

    And Recluse's earwax.

It was getting late, and I don't play a lot of Scrappers. Yes, wrong side of the powerset combo on my part.

Brute?.. I think my sleep-deprived brain was dredging up my "lack of broadsword" gripe again. Not sure.
  8. A brief conversation pertaining to my main, Blood Speaker, necro/dark engine of inevitable doom, in the last room of an LGTF.

Random team mate: Blood got separated!
    Tank: So?

I'd built him up as a "tankermind" before I even realized there was such a term.
  9. My only quibble is that I've never seen Thor (or Superman, for that matter) as Tankers. I see them as wm/inv and ss/inv Scrappers, respectively. Neither of which are possible (no /inv Scrapper set). I'd be fine with building Thor as a wm/wp Brute and "convert" him... but THAT isn't possible either (no wm/ Brute set).

Never mind the fact that, to me, the big hammer looks... stupid. I'd sooner build an evil clown with a brightly-colored squeaky mallet with that thing. And, as bad as it is, nothing else comes closer to the correct hammer style.
  10. Or you were the "victim" of someone's generosity. It's happened before, mostly in cases where the item purchased is generally cheap and innocuous. Unless it seems more like a case of someone adding to many zeroes (e.g. the item normally sells for 2,000,000), I wouldn't lose sleep over it.

There's also the improbability that the purchaser uses the forums and will happen upon this thread.

Extra credit for superior reading skills. Didn't think I was being that vague.
  15. Still, the only "win" I'm interested is is genuine developer interest in expanding/updating the SG base system. As opposed to the many, many layers of wish list requests wrapped in feigned developer interest. The base building community has thrown literally dozens of base wish lists at them, some at their request. Nothing has come of any of them. When they act on the lists they already have, I'll take new ones seriously.
  16. Of course, they could always decide to add a required regional prefix to EVERYone's globals, making all NA accounts @NA_Global and all EU accounts @EU_Global, making said prefixes permanent. Then everyone "loses".

See? Fair. Even irrespective of vet status or whichever customer can manage to log in first. Less work even for those that have both NA and EU accounts, since they're both discreet and unalterable.

    As previously stated.

Perhaps, but at the end of the day, if they've taken players' concerns seriously and decided that the implementation as stated IS the best way to go, will you still assume all they actually did was mouth platitudes? Sounds as if you've already decided.

Because a lot of the EU player base normally stick to their home server, actual toon names are hardly ever used is this the same on NA?

The first thing I do when I join a pug, is click on each team member and Add note, immediately I know whom I am teaming with, even if I have not teamed with them for some months.

I know people have taken huge amounts time building there global name and their reputation as either a good player, nice player, helpful player or those that like to RP, TF or even PvP. We even know the globals for the bad apples on the server and use this as a means to avoid. Basically what they are doing to Defiant will be taking 6 years of history of hard fought reputations and close bonds and dumping it in the trash without giving us a chance to defend ourselves and that is what hurts.
And... how is making a mental shift from "Slazenger" to "EUSlazenger" a problem, for you or anyone else on the EU servers? I seriously do not get this. Not picking on you specifically, but a great many folks have gone on about how this is going to "impact their online identity" to the extent that I'm glad I rarely drink soda at my desk. I hate having soda in my nose, anyway.

And honestly, this question is largely rhetorical. Any of you can try to explain it, but I'm highly unlikely to ever "get it" well enough to sympathize. At this stage, I'd be perfectly happy to go by @NABlood Speaker and let a potential @EUBlood Speaker keep the name, regardless of vet status. I honestly don't think any of my numerous server and global friends are going to be the least bit confused.

We keep seeing this type of question because folks still can't figure out the difference between a server merge, and a server list merge. Even when the definition is right there.

Regarding some of the ideas put forth:

    1) I definitely think that active accounts should take priority over inactive and trial accounts, and quite probably over accounts less than 6 months old when the merge goes through.
    2) I am NOT in favor of vet status being a determining factor. Honestly, I get tired of some twit invariably saying "I'm a 75 month (or whatever) vet, and..." because my knee-jerk reaction to such statements here has, by experience, become "...and no one but you gives a sh**..." I can't easily count the number of times someone's argument supporting their sense of entitlement has been prefaced by almost that exact statement. Who gets to say that a 60 month vet has anymore right of consideration than I do as a 51 month vet? Who's to say that my 51 months entitles me to anything more than a 36 month vet? One of us had the good fortune, or foresight, or what have you, to subscribe earlier than someone else, making us a "more loyal" customer? Seriously? F*** that.

And to reiterate again, my second point has nothing to do with the notion of "losing" my name to someone in the EU. I'd be absolutely FINE with the decision that it be the NA customers that take the hit INSTEAD of the EU customers. At least that would foster a more "welcome to join us" feel about the whole affair. I will NEVER support the notion that simply being here longer entitles ANYone to ANYthing beyond the vet rewards that are already part of the system.
  22. I want the Omega slot for my necro MM to be the ability to cause zombie invasions at will.
  23. There is, of course, the option that adversely affects no one (as a few folks have hinted):

Scrap the notion of a server list merge.

Am I advocating this? No. But sometimes, you DO have to ask yourself what you want more. I understand people's frustration, but if you've been asking for this for as long as some people have, then you've tacitly proven willing to accept the inevitable inconveniences.

And before anyone bothers asking, yes, as a matter of fact I would be fine with this if I were in the affected group. Because, yes, I do ask myself what I want more.

Some folks have already claimed to prefer to quit than to (presumably) get one of the things they've been asking for all this time. Since there never is (and never has been) a way to please everyone, all I can offer is "farewell".
  24. Is there an image or link I'm not seeing there, Scooter?
  25. I have 7 level 50s, and will probably be picking up 2-3 more in the next month or two. I run the Ramiel arc for all of them simply to reap the shard rewards when I play them, but only one of them thus far has a tier 3 or 4 Alpha slot, and only two others have ANYthing slotted. And I still play... whatever darn toon strikes my fancy at the time, out of a selection of approximately 50 alts. They're all different, in some way or another - I rarely become bored with ANY of them. All of the boring toons, I've already deleted... a list MUCH longer that the toons I've kept.
