All I want as a dialog option for every one of Graves' missions is "You're a self-important imbecile, Doc. I'm just going along with all of this because you're amusing, too..."

Quote:I've been wanting a "commando training" style melee set for a long time myself, one that does NOT look like a formal "martial art" per se. This will work well for that.Many. many people would disagree with you. Martial Arts and Super Strength both bring specific concepts of fighting style to mind which don't really fit the "unskilled/non-powered brawler" style, and as such many feel limited by them.
There's been people asking for a street fighting type of set for years. While I'm not terribly interested in it, I think it's a nice, polished looking set. -

And, like, http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showthread.php?t=274063 even.

Pull off one leg and toss it outside. Repeat as necessary.

Also considering a demon/poison MM, with the updates to /poison and the debuffs put out by the pets.

Quote:I was actually seeing this, or a related issue, LONG before i21. Possibly as far back as i16 (or farther), my wide aspect load screens were getting distorted/narrowed to fit a smaller screen... on my wide-screen monitor. This was reported during beta and it was said that we would see a fix for it soon after the launch of I21.
Well.. we're well after the launch of I21, and the aspect ratio still annoyingly downsizes itself to a non-widescreen state whenever you're at character creation/selection, or costume creation.
I eventually gave up seeing a fix for this as a "non-game-breaking bug". That's a long list, by the way... -

Yay, didn't forget, and yes. it works now.

Again, I never was under the impression that the Test server was anything OTHER than temporary, and I'm quite sure this notion didn't pop into my head from nowhere. I had my share of level 50 characters there that existed nowhere else, and I got a lot of mileage out of using them to test stuff... because I always knew that's what they were for, so whether they still exist or not is irrelevant to me - I got what I wanted from them, and will do the same with the next batch.
I can understand being disappointed, especially if some of the now-wiped characters had been there a long time. Some of mine had been there almost four years. But in the end, no matter how long they were there, being blind to the fact of their eventual deletion is only the fault of the player, not the Devs. -
Possibly because, every time I've read the information regarding stuff on the Test server, it's said "without warning" in conjunction with the whole "could be wiped" disclaimer. Don't remember if it was specifically in the Test server EULA or not, but I've never had any illusions about the permanence of anything I did there.

I've been known to play the market when I wanted the cash for some specific project, like finishing an IO set, but it's hardly a regular thing for me.

Much the same reason that I built my necro/dark MM up to being able to solo GMs, pre-Incarnate. Had beaten 7 (incuding 2 Paladins at once) before Incarnates happened, and stopped trying after that. There were bigger, cooler challenges to move on to, at that point. And yes, while I play quite a bit, I'm still a "casual player". I sell the drops I get, I cash in on A-merits across several characters, and my top three inf earners fund every other character on my account, starting with the 42 characters I have on Justice alone.
It may all seem daunting, but with a regular group, you adapt, and a lot of this just happens naturally. -
If I remember, I'll pop on and check with my main, who has the AA proc in Oppressive Gloom. Won't be til around noon today, since I'm at work, so if someone beats me to it, I can forget with a clear conscience.

Quote:Presumably, they had a good reason. So I felt fairly confident you'd have a good reason if you ever did need to permanently wipe it.
Whether all the work you did there was a waste of time is something only you can decide. Posting on the forums about it when, by your own admission, you've always known the risks, probably is since, due to the previously mentioned good reasons, they're not likely to say "Oops!" and put everything back the way it was. -
By collecting the art outside of the forums, and only posting them (making them available for voting) after the deadline.

Some thoughts on maintaining structural integrity for this sort of contest:
1) Keep the submissions private until judged. People will drop out solely on the basis of comapring their idea(s) to others' already-presented work. No submissions should be visible to other contestants until the judging is complete.
2) Set a standard that no contest will be judged any earlier than (for example) 14 days after the 5th sumbission is received. Obviously, you may want to modify both numbers for various reasons, but make them a permanent standard thereafter. This will give you a decent, attainable pool to judge from, and you just need to make sure that, once the minumum number of entries is reached, the closing date is announced and remains unchanged thereafter.
Just some brainstorming I thought I'd throw out there. -
Which would still involve the devs doing... anything... with bases.
Not getting on that broken merry-go-round again... -
Blech! I don't like butterscotch OR caramel. Dark chocolate for me!
