Quote:This rather well sums up why I gave up and uninstalled the CoH Beta client. I got tired of being prompted to update an install that was very apparently useless, as far as its stated purpose was concerned. If people feel their feedback is falling on deaf ears, they're going to be less inclined to give feedback in the future.
The last time I experienced this much of an apparently deliberate case of willful deafness, I ended up divorced... -
And as an additional prize, if you 'save options' on that character, it will start all new toons with that preset, and you can 'load options' to any earlier ones.

Quote:My elec/elec dom is level 34 now, and remains a favorite, partly from the power choices and partly from concept. Phrankenshock is one of my "Hallowe'en" characters, loosely based on the Boris Karloff version of the Frankenstein monster. Thanks for all the awesome replies. It's funny, but it seems that I've been playing my elec/elec blaster a lot like a dominator. I use stamina drains and ST holds for control and then mix in melee and range attacks as I fly in and out of the scrum. Seems that playing a blaptroller would really be more what I am looking for (of course, I rolled him back in i8, long before elec control). I rolled a new elec/elec dominator and I'm excited to give him a shot.

Quote:Port Oakes and Cap au Diable are on the same island. A tunnel used to link them. You åre probably right that it is Mercy. Another example is found in Port Oaks. If you go all the way west to where the sub for the Mayhem mission is, you can clearly see the top of mount diable in Cap au Diable. So there is definatly possible to see cross some zones.

This post is going to seem a bit OT for a moment; just bear with me, here.
Paragon Studios has a big freaking sexism, gender-confusion hang-up that I've been fighting out with them periodically for years.
Evidence? Try putting a "Mars" symbol on a female toon's chest. Try putting a "Venus" symbol on a male toon's chest. Go ahead, I'll wait...
...
Back yet? Good. Now ask youself, how ridiculous is that? Want to know what response I get every time I ask about it or request this "bug" be fixed? None. Nothing. Not a word. But this little hang-up of theirs was the reason they were so slow to add the *gasp* gender-swapping option in the tailor. They've admitted to that much, at least, though I forget where; might have been at one of the Herocons, the Seattle M&G I was at over a year ago... it's been a while, but I was there at the time.
All this being said, as an avid MM player, I've wanted pet customization for a long time. ANY kind of pet customization. I understand that the resources may not be easily available, but if I can color-swap npc models in the AE (and I can), granting that ability, at least, shouldn't be too far out of reach. I personally have no feelings one way or the other specifically about female MM pets, but if you (collectively) want to see it happen, you're probably going to have to go after the root of the problem.
I've been trying to convince them that there IS such a thing as being TOO worried about offending someone. Here's to hoping other folks will help hold up the torch, so to speak. -
Quote:My original "Favorite Blaster" has been nrg/nrg for a long time. I suspect rad/nrg will eventually overshadow that at least a bit. Nothing says "pie in the face" like a range and power boosted Cosmic Burst.By the way, Radiation blast is pretty good too. That mag 3 stun in Cosmic is so handy when it comes to soloing.
I have a Radiation/Device. I figure I can at least stack two stuns (Taser) but having no Build Up is really weird... ugh. I can't make up my mind on /device yet. I need to see how Gun Drone is. -
Be that as it may, I've never had a problem landing mobs exactly where I wanted them, whether I'd bothered to -kb them beforehand or not.
There are only two kinds of maps in the game: indoor and outdoor. Indoors, there are always walls and corners to work with, and if a tank can herd mobs to them, so can I. This is quite aside from the fact that I routinely drop mobs around the melee toons even when they are affected by the kb, by simply accounting for that distance in my placement. It's just a matter of remembering whether they can be kb'd at the time, or not. Outdoors, it's even easier. I either launch them straight up, allowing them to drop down where I want them (with the falling damage), or I hover over them and fire straight down. All that kb just turns into an undignified bounce.
As for the recharge on gravity distortion field, your recharge on that might be 4 minutes. Mine's not. Can't look at the moment, since I'm not home, and the base number is pretty meaningless anyway, given the number of +recharge procs I have scattered around the build, but it's certainly up often enough for my needs.
In any case, there's still a big difference between "I've never learned how to use this power well" and "This power is broken/useless/doesn't do what I want/makes me cry". -

Before too many people start "QFT-ing" some serious fallacies:
Quote:Ony if the wormhole user is a moron. The targeting for this power does work. Communicating intent ("I'm WHing mobs around the fire brute, unless anyone has a better idea.") alerts even PuGs, as long as everyone can read (not always a winning assumption...).Gravity has Wormhole, which can't be used most of the time because it teleports the spawn away from the rest of the team and puts it in an essentially random place (as far as the rest of the team is concerned).
Quote:It then scatters the spawn across a broad area unless you have a wall to prevent the scatter.
Quote:And the spawn has enough time after you start activating the power to walk over to you and beat on your noggin.
Dimension Shift, I really don't care about. A largely useless power that ends up being "a place I can fill with an actual power." -
Quote:Depends on why this would be an issue for you. If it's thematic/RP reasons, you're going undercover for an extended period. Or, it never happened, because it's silly to lock power options behind a character morality, so you did it OOC to get access to a power set, not to be some evil schmoe's lackey for a while.I'd like to get shadowmeld but I'm reluctant to go the villian route.
Otoh, if it's a matter of not liking redside maps, missions, whatever... eh, grin and bear it, or do without. -
Quote:Handy link.I would highly encourage any tourists in the Rogue Isles to pick up the Demonic accolade while they're there.

Quote:Incorrect. Just started a patron arc on one of my villains yesterday, when he hit 35.Unless they changed for i21, the Patron arcs can only be done at 40+. The powers unlock sooner, but you'll have to wait to do the arc, then respec. However, you get a special respec token for finishing the patron arcs, so it's not that bad.
There was, for a while, a bug where the patron missions you could take at level 35-39 were still spawning enemies at level 40, but they've since fixed this, as well. -

Quote:Thematically, unless the animation was changed (I haven't fiddled with it for a while), it's because your character is striking the ground with the weapon.]WHY is it a requirement that Arc of Destruction be ground-based? Especially when ever other power in the set can be used from the air?
Yes, I hate that "logic", too. It needs to have a separate aerial animation. -
No, even after clicking the image to see it full-size. And none of them are in the list that follows, either.
-
While I'm not a big proponent of adding more melee character options to a system that already has more of that than anything else, the one thing I've aways wanted was a "reflective" defense set, one that harms enemies that attack you with melee attacks. No idea how one would implement such a thing, but it is my only lasting desire regarding melee defense sets.

That would hypothetically explain why I've never had this problem.
-
My diplomatic answer is "None of the devs bother testing/playing any Incarnate content on Masterminds."
This may not be true, but it's certainly how a lot of it feels. -
Perhaps an increase in Tanker aggro cap, and number of targets affected by the tank's AoE damage, based on team size.
