  1. That'd be an interesting story arc for the Menders.

Save Oranbega, a few centuries before the war against Mu.
Meet and help them, knowing that one day, they will become eeeevil.

Yep. With the long empty towers of the ancient Avilian civilization...

But they'd need to have some quadruped animation models...
  3. Yes, none of the outside missions should require a specific rare spawn that could be farmed or camped for...
  4. I still thing this thread should have been named: 'The once and future Cox'...

Polishing is great, but I think whole new shinies are needed at regular intervals to bring in fresh blood.

I'd like them to connect the base building system to the MA so that players can design their own unique maps for their missions.
And, once again, I'd be excited if the devs were to actively plunder the MA architect for the best missions (and map, and custom group or villains) to transfer to regular CoX.
  5. That'd be interesting, but not everybody will be pleased as, in effect, it deprives the player of a ressource (Wensworth in KR) or forces them into taking time out of what they wanted to do and fight GM...
  6. Maybe make some outdoor mobs drop 'clues' which allows you to start a story arc...

I do what I can, and expect everyone else to build from there. I wasnt even thinking Mayhems or safeguards... but how nice would it be that if red side and you're robbing a bank, your nemesis shows up EVERYTIME to stop you!?

Of course if you side switched, you'd have to create a new nemesis... and your old one becomes obsolete.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Why would you need a new nemesis? Can't handle a little competition? (if you go from good to bad) If you become a hero, who's to say your old nemesis won't show up on your missions to make you look bad, or even help you, depending on the how he / she feels about your "redemption"?

    [/ QUOTE ]

And, if you are a hero, I'd expect your Nemesis to still try and kill you.
I don't think the joker would give Batman a pass simply because they are on the same side now...

After side switching, that many people wanted and Power Customization that even more people wanted and might be on its way, a personal Nemesis would be the next very long term shiny mechanism for me.

I'd also more options for the MA (for example, the option to hand pick every single mob within one spawn so that my Bonnie and her Clyde would spawn together) and more integration of the MA into mainstream CoX (having the best arcs transferred as regular story arcs). But it is not a new shiny, is making an existing shiny even shiner...
  8. Ho yeah; any Safeguard/Mayhem would have a chance of puling your Nemesis. Good idea.
  9. I'd like a way to design our own personal Nemesis.

Maybe have the game generate random missions so that everybody's experience with their on Nemesis would be unique...

So, obviously, Posi is promising us a moon base in the next issue. Obviously.

So there's no way to start at your level and go up as you move toward the back of the map?

I guess ramped-up with a higher difficulty setting would allow to achieve that...

I would be interested in the OP to giving some details about how precisely "that other game" is doing better real world content than CoX and what would be his wishes.
-Is that more unique or varied landscape, for example, adding a 'Chinatown' or 'Little Italy' district (or replacing a few blander districts?). Being able to visit the Freedom Phalanx headquarters or the 'Paragon museum of heroic history' would rock.
-Is that more immersive in game events? Some points on the map have a chance of spawning an event that the player can participate in (for example, passing by a bank, you notice a robbery in progress, defeating the thugs outside and clicking in the door port you to an instance mission spawned for the occasion)?

    [/ QUOTE ]

    I'll give you examples.
In RWZ there are forts (little round top) that get attacked. In other games there would be a quest giver who would ask you to help defend. You would have to defeat X number of enemies nearby to complete the quest.
There would be missions to go to the Sky Raiders base in Striga. There would be a whole story arc of fighting sky raiders and having to get something from the base. You wouldn't just fly by and avoid it.
Note that there is a tiny bit of that in Striga - you are sent to take out the turrets and invade Wolf's Throat of the council base.
CoX has a lot of cool stuff lying around. In other games someone tells you a story and details about them and you interact with them.
Faultline now has a story, and part of it actually has you running around in the tunnels in the far side. But for the most party you ignore actual Faultline and just do instances.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Sounds interesting; and not much extra work for the devs.

  15. Nope, as far as I know, you need to unlock them separately through tickets.

Similarly, costume pieces that you unlock through the mission architect are not available to your characters...
  16. I don't know if we have that many informations, as the skulls are quickly out-levelled.

    Have you tried here?
  17. I see.

Mostly, it was to have a funny bit of dialogue between a wife and husband...

No big deal but maybe, as the mission architect keeps on being popular, the devs will keep on adding editing options.
I'd love, for example, to use something similar to the base designer to design your own maps...

    Thanks for the answers, anyway.
  18. Smurf...
Woud downgrading one of the boss to a lieutenant status work?
  19. I designed two custom bosses. Is there any way to make sure they spawn in the same group?

I tried several things, but the best I can come with is the same one boss spawning multiple times...

iii) Statesman as the signature character will be determined, if I had my druthers it would be something the Community Team would acquire rights to, one can dream right?

    [/ QUOTE ]
States should continue as a signature character - and appear as such in game in missions and taskforces, etc... But he should never appear 'live' again.
But the redname? No, that too should be retired with honor.
That name and character belongs to Jack Emmert (no matter whose IP it legally is), and to see it used as a sockpuppet (no offense, I just cannot think of a better term) is an insult to him and to the collective intelligence of the players.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I agree that the redname thing is probably necessary.
However, I think that States could still be invited and log on as... well himself as a special honorary guest in the case of these events...

Where are the new zones for the core user base of PVE people.

    [/ QUOTE ]

And, to be fair, just adding new zones will cause a problem of dilution of the population which will make finding people and a team more difficult and will give us thi 'ghost town' feeling that people dislike and that is always bad for the game's image.
Improving the zones is actually a good solution to avoid all that while at the same time, keeping the zones up to date in term of techniques and add everyuthing they learned since the game launch (zone wide story arc; more dynamic and unique looking zones...)

So, I would not be expect them to add any new zones anytime soon.

  23. I think Lovecraft underestimated the adaptability of the human mind.
i htink, in the worst cases, Post-traumatic stress disorder if the way of the mind to say 'screw this I will come back when I come deal with that'.
It is also fairly common for people to lose traumatic memories (abuse, etc...) to lock them down and never remeber them rather thant to deal with them...
