Quote:It was NOT just a retextured office map. You've never seen anything like it in game. The closest reference is if you could imagine the care taken to design Praetoria, now take that to make an all new interior map.I never got to run around in it, but it was more about open spaces than corridors. That's another thing I liked about it.
There were things such as open, multilevel stairs without railings. Wide spaces. Very sleek, modern decorations.
It's more akin to the type of office you'd see in a Bond movie or even the Matrix.
The interior design was vastly superior, and much more conducive to using powers.
EDIT: I really don't mean to be a tease. It's just that Don Pham put his heart and soul into that environment, and I really wish you guys could have seen it. -

Quote:There were a few things I learned almost immediately upon joining Paragon......
I was, however, surprised that it took them that long to get around to fixing it.
1) Pretty much every idea I, as a player, ever had was thought of and evaluated in-depth already.
2) Nothing was ever "that easy," even if I was dead-on sure it was "that easy."
3) Nobody wanted bug fixes and gameplay improvements more than a COH dev.
4) Nothing was ever "that easy." (Including the Hami-O exploit)
It was an incredibly educational experience. -
So as for my regret, I generally don't have a lot of regrets about anything, really.
But one thing I wish I had the time to do was join an active Super Group in game. I had a lot of fun running TF's, iTrials with various people, but I do feel like I missed out by not being in an active Super Group. One of my characters was (and still is) in a SG that I got a random invite for, but the bulk of my guys run solo.
The global channels were great for finding groups. Less so for SG's. Which btw was one of the projects on the big list of things to do at some point - make it easier for people to find and join SG's. -
Thank you so much for the kind words Scarlet, Lucky.
I actually printed some of your more memorable posts and had them up on my wall, along with various other choice messages from players. Not because I thought you guys were being jerks, but because the intensity of your messages helped to keep me honest. You guys cared about the game and Paragon Studios, and I really appreciated that.
I never took anyone's criticisms personally. All of you guys spoke from your heart, based on what you knew. And I did try to encourage the evil face of marketing image, so you both fell for my trap!
If the forums suddenly turned into a place full of magical ponies and cupcakes, I'd actually be sad, because it meant that there was no diversity of ideas, but it'd also mean that some of the more passionate players such as yourself might have given up.
And as much as I'm glad that I'm able to be more upfront with you guys, a part of me wishes we were back to the "Fire Black Pebble" days, because that would mean that we've reset the clock and everything's all right again. -

Try to do the Admiral Sutter TF while you can. It's really fun, and does a great job making you feel like you're taking part in an epic encounter.

Quote:Independence Port should have some.Okay so I am doing everything I can to finish up my comic and I have a scene dealing with a Vanguard officer on a Naval ship.
1. Do we have any navel ships in the game? I know in North Talos there are tankers and transport vessels but do we have any Navy looking battleships or something that could pass as one?
Quote:2. I have a seen where a Vanguard commander is speaking with a navy officer. The officer is supposed to be at a computer or desk and following communications and radar.
Does anyone know of a set ingame, a map in AE or on a unique map TF/SF/Trial or ANYWHERE I can use, instead of just defaulting to base editing? -
If Matt Miller makes another MMO.....
I'm pretty sure his in-game character will have hair. -
Sort of funny, Wikipedia wouldn't event accept my edits during the Going Rogue launch. There was some incorrect URL's, and I wanted to add the YouTube channel, but they kept rejecting them, even though I explained who I was.

There is no way to respec and use the sorcery powers on live. This is true for any of the unpublished MTXes on beta.

Besides, I'm pretty sure if we all wanted a target for our frustration, we could agree on one WITHOUT picking on each other.
FPARN! -
Last shot guys. Please refrain from name calling, dredging up old threads, hyperbole, or generally anything inflammatory about each other.
I would really like for us to remember the best of each other, and set an example for the entire gaming community.
So please, y'all know when and when not to hit post. And if there's someone who doesn't seem to get it, take the high road. We're all better than that, and that's how I want to remember you guys. -

Quote:Please, I can punch myself out waaaay better than you can, with your weak My Little Pony punches.Ok, 20 minutes are up, I could fly over, or you can just save us both time and effort and punch yourself. In the face, preferably.
Let me know how that goes.
Fortunately for you, I'm going to sleep.
Thus is NOT a cue for the forums to break in half again! -
Quote:If you go to the YouTube link I posted for the trailer, one of the recommended videos below is for a Japanese movie called Smiley. The thumbnail alone creeps the frick out of me. Omg that's disturbing.I know you weren't talking to me here, but I actually just watched it last week. It was pretty good, but I think it requires a bit of knowledge of Japanese culture to really understand.
Beat Takeshi was outstanding in it. As always.
Everyone should take a look for themselves.....if you want to seriously be traumatized. -
Quote:Awright, then go watch What's Eating Gilbert Grape. It really is my favorite movie of all time.I saw it and... I dunno, kinda hated it, kinda tolerated it? The teacher's crush on his VERY YOUNG STUDENT grossed me out more than the violence.
It's a very well-made, poignant movie without any violence or creepiness.
If you watch it, I maaaaay forgive you for devastating me.

Quote:You so need to watch Battle Royale.I confess I totally flaked. In my defense, I was tired. And playing Minecraft.
It's how I imagine high school was like for you. You know, that place you just graduated from last week.

That's punching with emotions. I thought you'd be familiar with that.
Speaking of being on the east coast, this is a true story.
Picture Friday night, my last Friday night in the Bay Area. Out of the kindness of my heart, I invited Keetsie to join my dear friends for a movie and dinner, but she flakes out.
At the last minute, she calls, and I swear she sounds like she's crying.
Keetsie: "Hosun...I....choke....I didn't realize today was your last day in the Bay Area! Even though you told me that last week, and emailed me that today. Waaaaah! I'm so sorrryyy. I can't make the movie, I'm scared to drive alone, :-("
Me: "It's all right little one. Courage is a trait not all of us are capable of, especially you, since you're a girl. But hey, we're grabbing dinner in TWO hours, why don't you join us?"
Keetsie: "I....I don't know. I'm a-scared I may let you down by farting at dinner!"
Me: "Ahhh yes, I remember your lactose intolerance well. How about this, we're gonna hang out afterwards and play some board games, why do you join us? There's no milk to make you fart."
Keetsie: "Oh what a great idea, like every idea you always have! You're so smart. I wish I was smart. I'll be there for sure! Now I can stop crying! See you tonight!"
Me: "I look forward to your wonderful company, little one!"
So guess who DIDN'T show up? Hmmmm? Oh how I cried that night.....
PS, not every line may have been quotes verbatim.
