    Coin, nice that you are spread about, we do need you sometimes though the new blood is mainly spork, major pain and fire-beetle, but a few is sorta know IRL have come back after they had to change accounts etc, so should be good.

    ON A FANTASTIC NOTE!: Sin and I tested last night and when people leave the SG their prestige stays it seems, whichis what i had hoped for but didnt think happened : /. well now u can keep a main in the SG if u like, but i dont mind too much which one,we can boo up the alt SG and keep toons there, but if a toon becomesa "active" then pull them back to the main sg. none of this is set in stone yet, but we'll talk abot it some more, when the people i really need to har from post their thoughts here (hint).

    base news, spent 1.5M or so on an 12x8 plot, swapped out the small tp room with the arcane raid pad and put in a tech raid pad (same costs but tech is bigger), fiddled with tp rooms for HZs so that they are adjacent and linked. made the base uniform (by accident, feel free to put it back how it was lol).

    note, when we put more rooms in (second control room is priority if possible to put one in our sized base, we may well need to cut the 2nd tp room down to one doorway to allow it to be a 4x4 room, not 6x6 or whatever it is now. Dreamer I hope ur taking notes.

    HEAL PLZ1! we need 10M hps healed for the autodoc, and i still dont know which criteria need to be met for the robo surgery tech badge that allows increased hp on reclamator rez.

  4. Mega, its great that your doing this, i really love personalised fan art etc, I'll defo send you some stuff, I know most of the others will be up for this too!

    Cameraman, your help is appreciated We are currently using a whole 7 badges iirc, all the teleport beacons. The ones I really want are the 10M hps healed for the autodoc insp dispenser, and the (no idea what) badge to allow us the robo-surgery which improves your hp when rezed to base. If anyone finds out what this is (it'll be on the net somewhere), please post it here for referencce.

    EVERYONE, major issue, the SG is now full of alts : /, i abandoned the mains + 1 alt rule as we had lost a few regulars, but they are coming back and even I am making alts now. It's got to the point where I am gonna be looking to remove the last few inactive for over a month players, and even some alts. The question is, what about the alt SG? It's still there, but do we do it, we all know that 15 players new alts will make enough prestige for a new base fast, but what about the main SG? What are peoples thoughts on this, would it be better to have an SG for 1-25 and 26-50, i rEALLY dont want to try and split the SG again ,as for us, and last time, it just didn't work. Times are a-changing.

    On the upbeat, i7 and CoV! I will be making my elec brute and so will Mars, I think Ed will be back, Mega should have his PC fixed Meddler will be going thugs MM and Dreamer has a dark dark corr iirc at about 7, Sin will have about 500 new alts no doubt, so we can coalition with Sinergy SG Inc . Also, PvP!? I would like to designate a time period (say 7-9:30) when the SG goes predominantly PvP for the outset of RV, I know that many people including myself want to get in on the action, however I would really like to see a group levelling curve with the villains, and the more experienced CoV players helping us less informed players through the arcs, badges, SFs, GMs, badges etc. This will mean more levels, teams, fun andc prestige for everyone - which can't be a bad thing! Fear not though, the hero SG will still be alive and I expect people to help newer players ike Fire-Beetle work on his main, I don't want to see him hit 40 then have to do the PI grinf without his SG, but I'm sure it won't happen .

    Let's keep it real folks (or not as the case may be).

  5. We see your crossposts, and we follow the newb to see where he goes

    I know everyone says go scrapper, and boy it can make you feel powerful, but blasters can be fun too, and not much more complex than scrappers, most do have more utility tho (holds/control type powers).

    may i recommend the sets to avoid imho

    dark secondary scrapper - generally weak, esp in pvp
    (claws primary scrapper, in the soon to be released patch they are far better and viable again)
    fire primary for blasters - total lack of utility, nothing but damage, esp useless in solo pvp
    fire secondary for blasters - again almost total lack of utility
    (assault rifle primary for blasters - great fun to watch, but not a minmax thing really)
    (devices secondary for blasters great fun to play, but doesnt really do the whole team/huge damage thing)

    pick anything other than these and even if you make a pigs ear you can respecify your powers at 24+, 34+ and 44+, go with theose sets and you may be wishing you had different sets.

    as a rule in teams, ANYTHING works, but solo and pvp some things are just 'inefficient'

  6. i think this is a great idea, villains and heroes alike us pocket d to move thru the maps, and i know some ppl just hang out there, 'DJ Zero has gone to great lengths to make srue there is no fighting here', but arena is for entertainment! i'd like to see this so that after hero/villain fights u can talk on the same map without using /ac, it does some ppls heads in etc.

  13. random third post now, read it all. in my humble and very limited experience of pvp... NO epic is as good as elec;

    PFF: pvp blasters should have tohits in their buffs, hit thru it, stunned/slept/detoggled/held ->dead
    FoN: a true pain, for 2 minutes, in almost every case i have fought this power it's simply a case of geas/arch mage -> win, btw, all this time, my shields were up, and then afterwards too, for the rest of the time, not just 1/6 of the time.
    repulsion, irritating at best, blasters at 50 should have enough dmg or utility to destroy things at range and in melee.

    i agree with not taking powers like EMP and powers that offer little your build already does, the ice eic is appealing with its -fly and hibernate, but they are far far from overpowering, situational at best

    body armour, not worth it, not even the fact it cant be dropped, sorry dreamer , but im pretty sure its one attack chain = bye bye still

    LRM, zone kinda power, nice in pve, but this post are for teh duelz

    fire, well the less we say about fire the better really

    Given that APP holds are mag3 - same as controllers, it doesn't take much to overcome a melee AT basic mez resist, 3 holds for a stalker, 4 for a brute so I don't think the holds are irrelevant.

    [/ QUOTE ]erm, no trouble doing mag 12 here if i take all 3 holds actually, atm i have the 2 ranged and not the melee but can happily hold a lvl 50 scrapper straight thru his protection (SR is harder, but only cos its hard to hit, not the click), due to recharges, this takes a whole 13 seconds or so to stack.

    I'm slowly coming round to the fact that FoN is 'da uber' power and Force Mastery the epic to take.

    With the mez resists and damage resist FoN gives - you wade in - do tons of damage till it runs out then leg it.
    With the toggle dropping changes it's hard enough to do sustained damage against scrappers or tanks even without being clobbered, so is this going to be the 'only' viable option for blasters who PvP.

    (For 3 slotted shields)

    Munitions mastery
    'Epic' shield gives ~13% resist to smashing/lethal - something that 'tough' also gives, albeit in toggle form.

    Pyre mastery
    ~30% resist to smashing/lethal and some resistance to fire and cold

    Electric mastery
    ~30 resist to smashing/lethal and some resistance to energy

    Is there really any point to these other epic shields if FoN is soo good?

    Don't get me wrong - the other pools have some good powers - especially the holds - but in PvP these are largely irrelevant against most melee toons.

    With the 'balancing' that I7 brings for villains - isn't it about time that blaster epics got a bit of a lift (why not resistance to ALL types??) - even if FoN has to take a nerf!

  17. Ahoy, sorry to take my time replying!

    Indeed, welcome Fire-Beetle! Top new recruit if you haven't played with him yet, in the space of about 17 days he has become 4th best prestige earner (stop leaving the sg ppl :s ) and is one of the better new tanks I have seen. As you say Fire, community make sit here, and it's a good job I started playing more again lately or we wouldn't have teamed. So keep the good work, and let us know if you get strapped again .

    In other news. BASE: I have removed the anchor room to make room for a new telepad room, we now have teleports to all zones except the RCS, I will try and sort this out later with my blaster, but if you don't see thebeacon next time you log your high main on, go in there and grrab the badges in sgmode. We also need the Hive one, if there is one?? Reason I did this was a) I thought we could get main zone tps like in CoV and b) at the moment we aren't likely to complete and IoP trial tbh, so let's get some newbs in and train em up and keep our main alts with the SG please *cough* I'm not the ONLY person who has sg running rights remember.

    Next port of call is a full on insp despenser... what do we need to get this bad boy up and running?? if it's a healing badge, then get healing, if not, someone please let me know. After that it's gonna be expannd the base time, put all 4 telepads in one room (600k prest instead of 2x150k but you get defence slots), get the anchor room rebuilt and get a base raid teleporter for whatever lovely TFs become available.

    Few other points. Refine your salvage into tech power/material until you have 20, then stop.Using the most common salvage will give you room to carry on picking more up as 20 is the max per item, after you make 20 refined items though, you just burn your salvage. Refine higher level stuff too, no doubt it's needed for something I just haven't noticed yet. If the wrong benches are in place (atm tech basic and advanced) then ask someone with privelages to edit in what you need, if none online then gtell to one of us and let us know, it should be done next time you get online for you .

    PRESTIGE: zomg, earn some!! the villain base is down apparently, this will change in i7 but for now let's worry about he hero base, we have to have enough prestige for rent AND we need to be pulling more in. SO sgmode permanently pls ppl

    also dont spend any prestige without letting me knwo 1st pls

    How owuld slotting slows floor the opponents recharge? all that a slow enh does is enhance the -speed of movement (also quite useful in some cases). The single best way to floor recharge as far as i understand it is to slot recreds and stack the -recharge effects.

    slows are a total killer if you can survive your opponents 1st chain.

  22. Saw the topic title and didnt need to read the posts

    weak primary in termns of control, great damage but not enough to warrant fire unless u just plain fancy it.

    strong secondary for control, overall not a bad choice. imo it is on the side of the 'viable' secondaries

    conclusion: if it isnt elec energy or ice dont bother with it if you are looking to pvp or solo, otherwise, go for whatever.

Body Armour also has weaker DamRes than others - but it's a passive, no-END power, so if you have an END-hog attack chain it's worth considering.
