Tell us what you really think, D_K.

On topic, I ran through some missions with my 20something PB the other night and found that I enjoyed playing her.

This is something that never occurred when I was running Celmor to 50 when Khels were first introduced.

I look forward to getting her to perma-lightform and immortality. Which sucks in a way because I was really enjoying my new WS as well but I'm not as excited about getting him to 50 as I was before learning about the PB changes.

Edit: Hopefully the WS's greater damage output will keep me going on him.

    First Ward

Didn't know where else to put this so here it shall sit.

    CoH Developers,

Thanks for the First Ward. I enjoyed the story, the characters and the zone. The Seed of Hamidon is one groovy looking critter. I suspect that I will run through those arcs more than once.

That's all. Just some positive feedback.

The exception to this, however, is when you are doing max difficulty content. I'm not talking about the itrials here (those you can run with nearly any mix of ATs). When you run regular missions at +4/x8, generally you have a certain set of roles that you want to fulfill on the team, and certain ATs fulfill those roles better than others. For example, if you need someone who can run into the group and soak up aggro, you're best bet is a tank or a brute, and your worst bet is a blaster.

When it gets to that level, what each AT and even what each power set brings to the table needs to be considered.
Or you can just solo at +4/x8 w/ bosses and not worry about it.

Oh, nevermind. I see the scrapper/brute contingent has already spoken.

Edit2: and yea, I miss hearing about the exploits of the Repeat Offenders.
  4. Update: 6 hours to 20 on streets and scanner missions.
Another 11 hours hanging out going through all the contacts in First Ward as I hadn't seen that zone before this weekend. I enjoyed it quite a bit regardless of the progression slowdown it caused.
    Now 28.

Tonight I'll get him loaded up with lvl 30 basic IOs and get back to the scanner missions. I'll probably be 50 before next Monday.

  6. Move Bill Z Bubba to another server so that I could recreate him on Pinn as a brute. Woot!

Now I just need to get him to 50, migrate all the enhancements off the old to the new, get all the power buffing accolades again, then re-incarnate him.

I'm probably gonna need some help on this.

    It's official!

It appears that you have a problem. There are support groups for things like stupidly high post counts.

I still want to see this version of Statesman's afterlife:

Oh hell, forgot where I was posting. Probably considered nsfw. If you want to see it, go to youtube and search for "South Park: Little Boy You're Going To Hell Song"

The devs could datamine that information. Yes, they could!

But then they'd see that I currently have elude. Damn! It's only an LotG mule!

I actually had a similar reaction to the news, but it took a different angle. I saw it as the game continuing to model itself after known comic storylines.

Supes died. Bats died. Capn America died. Statesman dies. It's what was supposed to happen.

I'll still forever call him a wuss and quitter because of how they did it, but oh well.

But I still liked voting up BillZ as the new icon for the next Wade to go after...
Won't work. I won't pansy out, give up and die! Wade wouldn't know what to do.

EDIT: In all seriousness, the more I ponder that, the more I find myself annoyed by it. Heroes don't give up. Fighting until you are incapable of fighting has always been a hallmark of "hero."

    What should have happened:

Statesman gets hit with the bolt from the blue. It initially drops him to his knees, his skin cooking. Slowly, he forces himself back to his feet, step by agonizing step he makes his way to Wade. Costume long burnt off, most of his flesh turned to charcoal, brain being cooked, he gets his hands around Wade's neck and THEN drops dead at Wade's feet.

That's how a hero acts. He doesn't say, "ahh, screw it, this guy may have murdered my daughter, endangered and caused pain to my friends, let someone else deal with it. Maybe that baby-eating, cigar chewing, devil guy will save the day."

If he's a human form Warshade, you can have both! See the build I posted
He's my claws/sr scrapper. Slightly different ride.
  15. I took out a lvl 54 Marauder (with BZB) the other night, but I cheated and popped out an HVAS because I was in a hurry. Now that I'm back again I have three things I want to do before disappearing again:

PB to perma-lightform. (This is why you shouldn't delete old 50s. Someday, the devs WILL make you regret it.)
My new WS to mez protection with incarnate abilities. (I could work on the old lvl 50 one, but he's not as cool.)
Rebuild BZB gearing up for mitigation instead of damage output.
  16. I remember that now. Was during my last break but I was applauding from afar.

So we won't HAVE to be a ball of light when in lightform? Cool.
  19. heh, all right, rgr that, THB. I don't have a PB build at the ready to counter with, but even with everything you listed, you don't have capped dam-res, a greater than normal buildup, a self heal or a dull pain clone.

With no teammates, (remember, I said one on one) the inherent means nothing. Without the incarnate mez protection, the PB won't be getting stunned (thanks to perma-lightform) like the WS will when the AV puts on the whollop. I think my point stands.

Before PBs only rarely had an edge on WSs. At least now that disparity gap has been greatly reduced.

I hate to burst your bubble, but my experience is that Human Form Warshades still win in one on one situations... Or at least mine does. Of course, not all Warshades are created equal so there is that.
Ok, I'll play. Where's your warshade getting endurance, damage buffs, heals and capped dam-res from when you have no bodies to feed from?

All true. I was specifically discussing PBs, though. In the past, there was nothing that PBs had on WSs. Nothing at all.

Now they can have perma-capped dam-res without the need of bodies. In one on one situations, PBs win hands down. After, of course, as you point out, you get enough recharge in the build for it.

The problem is that the Devs are selling shape shifting AT's for irl money that play best when you don't shape shift with them.
    Yea, this cracks me up.

But if you need consolation, think about this: the vast majority of Peacebringer players seem to be deliriously happy with the changes they have. I see more Peacebringers now than ever.
Kind of hard to be unhappy about being permanently at the dam-res cap without even taking your shields....
