You're invariably ignoring other facets of both AT's.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Just like those ignoring brute damage output variability pointing to the necessity of higher hitpoints.

It's fascinating to me that the arguments for and against some unfair brute advantage are being shown to have the same kind of overall fairness in their logical holes that I see present between the two ATs.

I laughed about bannings because I believed Positron was blowing smoke.

Then I heard about a character lock. I laughed about that, assuming everyone that got a character locked/deleted would be able to laugh it off as easy come/easy go.

And then I started hearing about reports of folks getting both. Not just a small handful of people here or there, but large numbers of people. Apparently some who shouldn't have been tagged.

The laughter became a chuckle. That nervous chuckle of a man realizing that his favorite dev team had fallen off into the deep end.

Don't believe everything you hear. You do realize that people lie for the sake of lying. They make crap up just to get attention...especially during such events as this. "Look at me, I got banned for doing nothing!". All they are doing is stirring up drama. Most of what people claim has happened, has happened to their friend or the friend of friend. What these people are saying has to be taken with a grain of salt.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Worthless people lie. I don't. Neither do people I befriend. My friend has no reason to lie to me, but he's also not innocent and I never stated he was.

There's another group of worthless people out there. Those that call honest people liars.

    [/ QUOTE ]

So basically, I'm worthless because I demand proof? I'm sure it sucks for your friend to have gotten banned, but did it ever occur to you to ask him what he was doing that would have gotten him banned instead of immediately assuming he did nothing wrong?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Your reading comprehension sucks. He knows why he got banned. I know why he got banned. I already stated he wasn't innocent. So, yes, you're worthless for calling two honest people liars and then doubly so for not bothering to properly read posts that you're responding to before opening your mouth and proving yourself to be a fool.

For the record, I'm not at all against characters being deleted that were powerleveled to 50 using some "egregious exploit." I applaud it and find it hilarious. It's the banning I find to be total [censored].

[/ QUOTE ]Ok then just tell us what we need to know so when they are in we can test. Or is it that this stuff wont hit test until I15 is live?

Could have sworn that in another thread Arcanaville had already speculated that it would probably be AFTER issue 15 went live. i thought her analysis of that was spot on.

    [/ QUOTE ]

And all she did was put Castle's post on the topic in chronological order.

I was still going to hold out hope that he would slip them in since there seemed to be a delay in getting I-15 to test.

    Brute or Tanker

    [ QUOTE ]
I don't know the numbers behind the two, but logic stands that the brute aura is stronger.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Brute Invincibility:
+16.875s Taunt (mag 4) Raid mob (like Hami), Must hit at -20%
Effect does not stack from same caster
+16.875s Taunt (mag 4) PvE only, not Raid mob (like Hami)
Effect does not stack from same caster

    Scrap Invincibility:
+16.875s Taunt (mag 3) Raid mob (like Hami), Must hit at -20%
+16.875s Taunt (mag 3) PvE only, not Raid mob (like Hami)

    Tank Invincibility:
+16.875s Taunt (mag 4) Raid mob (like Hami), Must hit at -20%
Effect does not stack from same caster
+16.875s Taunt (mag 4) PvE only, not Raid mob (like Hami)
Effect does not stack from same caster

If City of Data is accurate, brute auras have a higher mag but don't stack. The fact that neither brute nor tank invinc stacks leads me to believe that the lack of the no stack rule on scrappers is an error.

However, scrapper WP RttC is also lacking the no stack rule.
Scrapper FA Blazing Aura has no taunt listed at all. Brute and tanker versions both do.

    Strange that.
  8. [ QUOTE ]
(Also, this assumes that the dots are an 80% chance for the whole stack, not 80% chance per tick.)

I've been meaning to check my logs on this and keep forgetting. However, when I've been watching, I have yet to see a partial DoT. It always seems to be all or nothing. I'd promise to check logs tonight, but I plan to be on test for the new TF/SF and dom changes.

EDIT: Dom changes not in with today's test build as per Castle.

[/ QUOTE ]Its no longer up due to the whole if you make a farm you get banned thing. The initial version was an all boss mission. When I redo it, its going to be so far from a farm that people wont have any reason to think of reporting it.

I wouldn't get my hopes up on that, ER. Folks are apparently calling all AV maps farms since a properly built team can tear through them in no time for truly ridiculous rewards.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Takes too long. XP/min ratio is all screwed up. I don't have any ambushes in my all boss map. I dig that one. It showed me the truth in defense being superior to dam-res. When all you have is dam-res, debuffs will tear you a new one in no time. Defense just laughs and keeps on trucking.

No lag for me except on the hill in the ITF as usual. (No, that won't EVER be fixed until they remake the entire map.)

    No memory leaks.

Haven't experienced the teammates in different instances yet, but I don't team a lot.

My hair. I shaved it all off about two months ago but haven't cut it since. It's becoming a grey and brown mop again.

Pretty sure that the devs can't do anything about that, though.
  14. [ QUOTE ]

You seem to think that a 12% survivability edge for brutes (your number) AND a damage advantage (regardless of how small), again for brutes, is parity. I'd suggest you look up parity in the dictionary.

    [/ QUOTE ]

He's stating that the parity comes from the fact that brutes must work to achieve that which scrappers sit at all the time.

The extra HP is there BECAUSE brutes have to keep pushing on when scrappers can just hold back and relax.

    That's where parity comes from.

Honestly, the discussion has become increasingly silly to me after all the bruting and scraping I've done.

I would not call it theft, as PlayNC always reserved the right to stop the service they provide, either temporarily or permanently, with no explanation or prior warning, so that's actually part of the rules of the service.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I never said that it wasn't legal theft. I never stated that they didn't have the right to steal from us. I'm just calling a rose a rose.

Lisar, your analogy sucks. No one was getting [censored] by folks speedleveling with the MA. At most they were using all the cocaine that Positron and company had left lined up on the tables with a sign on the door saying, "Don't snort all the coke."

    Brute or Tanker

    [ QUOTE ]
Tanks alreaedy do this. Taunt for Tanks causes -75% range on all foes, often drawing them into mellee range. Taunt for Brutes is limited to debuffing only the target hit. The end result is that Tanks "clump" spawns much better than Brutes.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    You are apparently incorrect:

Tank taunt: Max target 5 Autohit Foe
+41s Taunt (mag 4) PvE only
+10.25s Taunt (mag 4) PvP only, Not auto-hit
Range -75% for 12s [Ignores Enhancements & Buffs]
    Unknown Null +1

Brute Taunt: Max targets 5 Autohit Foe
+41s Taunt (mag 4) PvE only
+10.25s Taunt (mag 4) PvP only, Not auto-hit
Range -75% for 12s [Ignores Enhancements & Buffs]
    Unknown Null +1

The two taunts are identical in every way.

Not sure if it's been mentioned before regarding EM, but the damage listed for ET in the ingame numbers ALSO includes the damage done to self, that's why the DPA looks alot higher than it should be

    [/ QUOTE ]

I used city of data's numbers for all of my calculations.

    [/ QUOTE ]

If you used the number in the front power summary (where the cast time is listed) then you counted the self damage as part of it done as CoD does that too.

ET does 4.56 ds, the front page lists 8.31ds.

    [/ QUOTE ]

No, I have a brain. 4.56 is the number in the spreadsheet for ET.

It's not theft, you don't own anything in the game. You pay NCsoft for the privelege of using it, and the EULA means they have the right to do whatever they want with what you make.

The in-game moderators made some mistakes. Big deal. People make mistakes, they can be rectified. Positron didn't manually delete every character, some people got caught in datamining oversights, and should be able to petition support to have it rectified.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Oh really? And will those people be reimbursed the 1.50 that was stolen from them?

    Nope.

Theft is theft. It doesn't matter how small the amount is.

And then one of my longest term running buddies sends me a tell explaining that he'd been banned for the last 3 days and had a character deleted. He then informed me this was the final straw for him and his sub was already canceled. He won't be back, and I can't blame him.

If it had just been a character deletion, he probably would have laughed it off.

I told him I understood why he was pissed. I understood why I would be pissed were I banned from logging in for any period of time.

It's called theft. We pay for the service in advance. When you're banned from logging in, the money used for that time period is theft. You're not locked out for maintenance. You're not locked out for throwing around racial slurs.

You're locked out because you leveled too fast.

The bannings should not have happened. I will miss running around in game with my friend. He's a good person. His wife played for several years as well. He wouldn't be in my ever decreasing circle of in game running buddies if he wasn't.

Oh well... just another 4-5 year vet gone.

As Statesman said, "It's an MMO, people come and people go."

It's too bad that the devs decided to help speed up that going process.
  22. Just because they haven't done it yet doesn't mean they don't agree with him. They did put the stupid merit caps in to stop repeated runs of SF/TFs after all.

Energy Melee's mitigation and aoe potential are too low.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    [/ QUOTE ]

I don't know. Its aoe potential still blows. Maybe if whirling hands did knockdown it would even things up a bit on the mitigation front. Some of the other sets showing high numbers in this comparison also deal out rather hellacious aoe damage.

I'd probably relent enough to state that EM is fine for soloing, but every time I've fired off EM/TF and sat watching the animation while someone else runs up and kills my target before the animation finishes, I snap a little more.

But we could probably write that off as "EM's flavor."
  24. I'm curious why you would drop fighting for hasten when he's got enough global recharge to run the chain he wants to run.

I'm also curious why you'd be overly concerned with smashing damage resistance on a set that has these %s of energy damage:
    bar 25% energy
    ep 30% energy
    bs 40% energy
    et 66% energy
    tf 72% energy
