  1. Brute damage mod: 41.708
    Scrapper damage mod: 62.562

If we're going for double rage, you need 300% rec-red to get that 240 base down to 60. You also need to deal with the 10 second no damage crash every 60 seconds.

300% rec-red in buildup means it recharges in 22.5 seconds and lasts 10. So 80% uptime? 64% buff for brutes, 80% buff for scrappers? Or should we just do 80 and 100 since we're ignoring rage's crash? Sure. Let's do that.

yea, I'm also ignoring cast times, I know...

SS users get double rage. 160% for brutes, 200% for scrappers.
WM users get single application of buildup. 80% for brutes. 100% for scrappers.
    Brutes get 160% from fury
    Enhanced to 95%

    SS Foot Stomp: 1.42
    Mace Whirling Mace: 1.12

    Brute FS: 7.313 (1.42*(1+1.6+1.6+.95))
    Brute WM: 4.872 (1.12*(1+1.6+.8+.95))

    Scrapper FS: 5.609 (1.42*(1+2+.95))
    Scrapper WM: 3.304 (1.12*(1+1+.95))

    Brute FS: 305.01
    Brute WM: 203.2
    FS is greater by 50.1%

    Scrapper FS: 350.91
    Scrapper: WM: 206.7
    FS is greater by 69.77%

The difference between those two increases? 19.67%

Still a damn far cry from 200% better. Or twice better or whatever.
  2. I disagree that leaving something broken is a better option that finishing melee powerset proliferation.

And I say this as someone that really only recently started abusing the hell out of the game with an ss/fa brute.

And SS on tanks outperforms most tank sets for damage AFAIK, but nobody really cares because they're still below good scrappers/brutes.
Still means that if it's broken for scrappers then it's broken for tanks and brutes.

There is no getting around that.

If that wasn't true then we'd get to run around saying, "aao and soul drain are too powerful for scrappers!!!"

    So Uh...Spines?

Castle's gone. The current powers group have different ideas about power balance.

Titan weapons and being able to perma-lightform prove that.

I don't think adjusting Barb Swipe's damage to match its animation when it's at the bottom of the pack on ST damage output is going to break the game any further.
  5. Yea, nobody cares about incremental improvement. It's not like I use Mids to check everything so that I can get as much HP and regen possible while making sure I stay above the defense softcap. It's not like anyone actually works towards getting a specific value of recharge in their attacks for pauseless attack chains. Surely no one is going to spend the hero merits or inf necessary to get a paltry 3% buff to defense from a pvp IO.

You know what's unnecessary? Any enhancement at all. I can solo from 1 to 50 with an emp/ene defender without ever slotting a single enhancement. Might take me a year to do it, but this game ain't rocket surgery. (No, I won't be doing this. I don't like having my time wasted.)

I'm not imagining what other people are getting. That data is being documented right here in these forums.

In Ouroboros, Max's arc is not an arc, but four separate one-off missions. So, no reward table there.
Bad arc design and bugged. You shouldn't get the choice to skip missions in an arc. And then his contact progress bar doesn't fill out. It's like they half-***** it and slapped it in without any thought behind it. I didn't get a component drop either on beta or live for Max's arc. Both times I ran all the missions and cleared every enemy.

EDIT: Perhaps doing more with Max is on the books for later updates....
  7. After a short discussion tonight in game, it occurred to me what seems to be one of the primary differences between the "all is well" and "this sucks" crowds.

Someone asked me what my end goal was and explained to me that theirs was only to hit the three level shifts. When that's your only goal, DA isn't all that bad. Get alpha to T3, save everything else that drops while gaining IXP, slot nothing in judgement and interface when they unlock, then T3 lore and destiny. Done. Three level shifts.

But that's not my goal. My goal is 5 T4s. I have to get 10 T3s and 5 very rare components and whatever else it takes.

The time discrepancy between those two goals is incredibly vast.

And given that running at -1 was giving me all level 50 enemies, I disagree with Bill that running at -1 should void the chance for drops.
That's not what I meant. I meant that +4s should have a better chance to drop everything than -1s. Edit: Meaning that if I'm fighting level 54s in DA but I have three level shifts, their drop rate should only be affected by a rank of +1. Flip side to that, of course, if I'm +3 (effective 53) and fighting -1s (49s,) drop rates should be reduced by a rank of -4.
  9. That's very nice, FlashToo. I envy your talent.

  11. I-XP rate seems fine to me.
Thread drop rate is not affected by enemy level and is too low. This should be changed for all drops so those running at -1 aren't rewarded for it.
    Component drop rates are at 80% common. I'd be fine with this if not for;
Being locked down to one component a day sucks a butt.
  12. I give less than a damn why it's broken. It's broken. It needs to be fixed. Someone needs to make the decision to allocate the resources to get it fixed.
  13. Ahh, same principle as silenced sounds. Danke.

Edit: Well that's certainly a perky image, Sapphic_Neko.
  14. Ummm, ChristopherRobin, please share with the class. How do we replace that image with something more to our liking?
  15. I'm still surprised that no one has come in with a replacement method. Weren't we once able to change the default load screens?
  16. I think I've completely missed something here. From the sound of some of your posts, it's been known for a while that the enhancements sold on the market would be superior versions of those we get in game?

  19. I actually haven't bothered with cleaners since going to Win7. I use ATI's uninstaller, reboot, cancel the autoinstall, install the new driver, reboot, profit.
  20. I'm not sure how unintended it could be if the enhancement text describes exactly what the enhancement is actually producing.
  21. Hold on.... current proc gives a 20% chance for 10% end every 10 seconds in a passive, right?

So normally it fires off once very 50 seconds on average.

Your average works out to 14 procs every 5 minutes.

    5*60 = 300 seconds / 14 = 21.4 seconds per proc

    ...

    3 times a minute.

WTF. Are they seriously selling for real money better versions of enhancements than we can get in game? Really?

No, surely Paragon Studios wouldn't stoop this low.
  22. I'm going to have to update mine tonight. Since I-22 went live, I'm not longer able to run multiple instances of CoH due to bizarre application freezes.

    Tonight I will:
    Uninstall old ATI driver
    Reboot
    Install new
    Reboot
    Defrag
    Reboot

    Retest.

  24. Completely non-scientific answer:
Last night I ran all 6 DA arcs at x8 diff. In that time I received one catalyst and two purples.

I could have sworn that the catalyst drop rate was much higher on test, but I'm beginning to wonder if it was just converters that I was seeing.
