Why am I not surprised that this hasn't been fixed yet? If you kill the heavies, they give no XP.

    Ninja Run

Ninja Run turns off Combat Jumping, Super Jump and Super Speed. It doesn't affect Fly or Teleport.

It does stack with swift, hurdle and sprint.

I can see several players that buy this skipping travel powers because of it. I will on some character and not on others.

We've already got buy a respec, buy a server slot, buy a transfer.

    I can see those happening.

What's the problem again? Let the fools be parted with their money. While player X spends 10 bucks to get from 49 to 50, I'll play for an hour and get the same thing.

Self-heal? I'd be the fool buying that one.

    Still not seeing a problem.

First basic costume editing functionality, now an almost-travel power. I'm actually dreading to see what comes next.

I don't like to make slippery slope arguments, because they always fail, but I look at precedent, and that's the only thing I can see.
<shrug> Don't buy it. I fail to see how this is an issue. Even if the mutant pack comes with a long recharge buff to dam-res and defense, I'd fail to see how this is a problem.

"It gives people with money an edge over people that don't!!!"

Really? PvP is that important in this game? Ninja Run still suppresses so no love there.

So where's the edge? Take the slippery slope all the way, Sam. What can the devs offer that is actually going to give some huge advantage to one player over another that doesn't buy it in THIS game.

"But he got to the mission 15 seconds before me!"
"Did they start killing things before you got there?"
    "Well, no...."
    "Guess it doesn't matter then."
    "Well this time they did!!!"
"Then they were rude. That happens now."

    So what's the problem again?

    How about no?

I do use the jump pack to speed up travel with the mayhem/safeguard flight packs.

I do understand that you probably feel this to be some kind of slippery slope, Sam, but if they nerf ninja run to jump pack status, they're going to have a bunch of people, myself included, demanding our 10 bucks back.

Is it a travel power replacement? For some, I've no doubt the answer is yes. Especially folks that were skipping travel powers anyway. I still have to take fly on my main because that's what he does. In March, I'll be able to skip the pre-req. (Finally.)

Is it grossly unfair to those that don't buy it? Nope. They can't blow themselves up to avoid debt if they didn't buy that pack. They can't add pretty nice buffs through fortunes if they didn't buy that pack.

I see no difference. Getting around the city is ridiculously easy these days compared to 5 years ago anyway. Now we get to run faster at level 4 instead of having to run a safeguard/mayhem to fly at 5.
  7. BAB,

I'll look at it more carefully later without a costume, but the right arm is doing something funky with claws drawn while Ninja Run is active.

That's my only complaint and I'm not sure it's a complaint. I kinda like it anyway.

Running backwards off of the roof of a building, doing a full backflip as I fall and cranking on fly half way down was just too damn wicked. Wings look great on forward or backflip.

Hadn't seen Walk yet. Wow. My female peacebringer looked damn hot walking. Forward or backwards toward the camera. Nice job, man.

Last note: Ninja run with shield out looks like your gonna full body slam shield check someone in the chest. I now have to get this guy up to shield charge as I can only guess that the Ninja Run/Shield Charge combo will look freaking awesome.

EDIT: Now I need a way to single key turn on and off both ninja run and sprint for max run speed between spawns.

I need video. That right there actually works for me. Looks like a good setup for Ninja Run, Follow, get in range, Spin.

I'll find out in an hour I guess.
  9. Just occurred to me.... soloing with street sweeping just became a whole lot faster.

    hehehehehehehehehehehe

Ridiculous or not, it's replacing my sprint bind on every character.

Gonna be a winged devil runnin like a ninja through the streets of PI tonight.

    heheheh What kinda odd?
  11. Ninja Run will often be used by my characters. But I won't be dropping CJ for it as CJ is a great mule for 4 LotGs and a little chunk of defense.

It will be, however, replacing sprint as my keybind for G.

    Ninja Run power:
Dash through the city with the agility of a ninja! The Ninja Run power is a travel power enabled through the purchase of Super Booster IV: Martial Arts and is available for use at level 4. Use Ninja Run to strike fear in the hearts of your enemies as you increase your run speed and leaping abilities, and the best part? It doesn't use one of your power selections!
    sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeet

  15. Didn't get a chance to come back to this last night. Glad the OP got some build help and is happier now!

On top of wat I recommended earlier, I rather wonder if people would like having the buffs we earn from the team lowered, in return from a greater base power?
I actually proposed this instead of what I have in the OP but it was met with much resistance.

Personally, I would have no issues at all with the inherent's damage buff being nerfed in order to gain more static damage, but of course, I'm biased on the side of soloing, and I accepted that fact.
  17. Kunu, when doing the export, it's a lot easier for us to examine builds if we can get the data chunk. That chunk is all I post anymore.

When you go to do it, choose Only Export Forum Chunk and post that. Then I'll import it into my Mids and see what's what.
  18. AO, don't get the wrong idea. When folks talk about avoiding insps for testing builds they aren't talking about changing your playstyle to no insps all the time. There's no point in letting yourself die when you can stop it from happening with insps in normal gameplay.

(I may play like that, but I know I'm messed up.)

As for the use of the self-res during the challenge. It's a power in your build. Kinda have to call it fair, ya know?

EDIT: Well, no we don't really. Death = failure. Keep trying!

He didn't hop into the thread pissing over what others have managed to do. Rather, he posted what he's been able to do so far while not making a fool of himself amongst his peers.

You're received the grief you've gotten in this thread because you deserved it for both your attitude and behavior in this thread.

Get over it. Don't repeat your behavior and you won't get shot down for it.
  21. I think he can do it as well. Maybe not after one try. Maybe not after two. But it's not like the rest of us nail it 100% of the time either.

It *feels* better to do it without insps.
  22. Doesn't sound like your build is worth looking at if you can't even handle a single spawn of +4 Rikti.

yea, yea, I know, now we're just being mean. It's the way life works. Walk into a thread spewing garbage and you're going to get it thrown back at you.

No biggee, live and learn, right?
  23. Go ahead and post the Mids build. What were you fighting? Do you have all three passives? If you don't, there's problem #1.

If I can cruise around at +4/x8 on my claws/sr scrapper, I fail to see how a ba/sr brute with more knock and higher HP meaning more mileage both with just the HP and with the passive scaling dam-res is going to do worse.
