  2. I consider it no different than standing by doing nothing while someone calls your mother a prostitute. I believe that one should be responsible for dishing out punishment when it is deserved. That level of punishment will of course vary from situation to situation. Someone calls me a jerk and walks away, I'd laughed it off. Someone gets in my face intending to anger me into an altercation, I am more than happy to comply.

Will I lose respect for someone if they just turn tail and walk away after being assaulted, verbally or otherwise? Absolutely. But I've found that those who do so generally lack self-respect anyway, so what will they care if I don't respect them?

    -edited for double words.

As I've stated before, when the law goes against honor, I'll choose honor every time and the law can eat a bowl of #&$^#.

I will throw this out there: I live by some simple rules. Treat others as they deserve to be treated. Stand up for yourself at all times. When you are constantly prepared for violence, you will find that you rarely are forced to experience it.

There are other rules I follow, but they aren't relevant to this discussion.

Personally I think a lot of the rep problems were caused by people who assumed that the comments were anonymous to both users and mods.
To add to that, some of us have happily shown what we actually look like on cohfaces, have met other local players and have gone to meet and greets where we've met even more players and developers as well.

In other words, at least for some of the posters around here, there's the recognition of the actual person behind the name because we've met them, known them and may even be actual friends with them.

Thanks, Slim. I don't think that there's enough of us running around these days.

I was bummed about BAB's response to that post.

The idea of having my human only warshade literally walk through a mission, two fluffies at his side, blasting away and recording the whole thing in fraps sounds freaking wicked to me.

Of course you'll call the bluff safely in anonymity.

But to answer your question, yes, I find violence an appropriate response to another man acting like a bad human. Men respond properly to violence. That and spreading our seed is our evolutionary purpose. I let the authorities or my wife handle a woman being an idiot, because I find violence against women appalling, and I'll allow parents to handle their children as I feel the same about violence toward children as I do women. (I can't WAIT until my son is a man. )

But some moron starts spewing filth in my face? Oh yea, he'll be eating asphalt. If he turns out to be bigger, stronger and faster than me and kicks the crap out of me? Doesn't matter. I did what was right.

Society already does that. We deliberately sell sticky note, pens, markers, project boards, ect. If anyone wants to write out racial slurs and super glue them to you car your options are to either call the authorities, try to ignore it, or escalate till authorities get involved on their own.
Now that real life has been brought up:

In real life, I'd catch the person leaving racial slurs on post-it notes on my car and beat the crap out of them.

If someone spoke to my face the way they've been able to anonymously with the rep posts, they'd either get a "Thank you!" or a repeated facial injury.

We don't have that option here.

Course, the flip side is that in real life, no one ever speaks to me as they feel they can here. Ever. I wonder why that is....
  11. Costume pieces may or may not see use from me. I enjoy having more options.
Emotes never meant anything to me.
The style of the ninja run doesn't actually fit 90% of my characters.

That last one means little to me as I now get to have pretty dang good movement speed with NR+Sprint at level 4 and I never have to step foot in another mayhem/safeguard mission unless I want the badge.

That in and of itself made it worth the 10 bucks.

    Ninja Running

I'm hoping that the CJ/NR lockout is in error.

NR doesn't detoggle sprint, hover, fly or make teleports non-functional. Why should CJ detoggle? CJ is far closer to sprint than superjump in the buff it provides, so I fail to see the rationale behind it.
  18. Bill Z Bubba

    So wrong...

You should see what the RPers are doing with the new pushup emote.

    • Add a +Recovery aura of 8% for each human-form shield type for a total of 24% +Recovery with all three shields running. Aura radius distance would be similar to Shield Defense or SoA team bonuses. No slotting for additional End Recovery. It's a fixed amount. Bonus doesn't function while the Peacebringer is mezzed.
    Interesting.

As a soloist, I'd love it. Teams would certainly consider you a welcome addition, especially in the pre-SO levels. And those same teams would gripe non-stop at you the moment you shifted to nova or dwarf.

    Ninja Run

I'm unsure why ninja run disables combat jumping. CJ is no more a movement power than hover or hasten.

As ninja run doesn't detoggle any of those, nor sprint for that matter, why does it detoggle CJ?

oh, and Postagulous? At lvl 50 on my main, with ninjarun, sprint, quickness and swift, I run faster than capped fly speed by a few mph.

    Claws/Fiery Aura

    But... I'm claws/sr.

What the others said about claws/fa is true. The damage output of doublestacked followup with fiery embrace backing spin, blazing aura and eviscerate will be really obscene.

I'd do it, but having played an em/fa to 50.... I'll never touch FA again.

But there might also be something with tentacles in the mutant pack - something Positron said at the Q&A in the Euro Pocket D for the 5th anniversary sort of hinted at that.
Seriously? Then maybe my warshade could still use his "Fear My Hentai Special" warcry even though he's human only now?!?!

    That'd be cool, too.
