The fact that you see something that would be to their advantage ("sit down and shut up, so you can actualy learn") as "power over them" is part of the core problem.

A little metaphore for you:

Now... if you ask a child what it would like for dinner, MOST children would say "candy".

Hell, in a "perfect future" an expansionist, millitaristic, near fascist goverment "works" in the right circumstances (ie star trek)

I dislike american politics as much as the next person. I was brought up a Socialist, spent most of my life around hippies, and left wing Che' Gauvara wannabes. And in general, i've come to realise that the more someone shouts "revelution" the less he knows how society works (although i suppose thats the point of anarchism, being the "stripping down" of society).

Yes, America is corrupt, so are all governments, its how humanity works. We're greedy. Give someone a little taste of power and the cling to it with their life.
But, you remove the government, the millitary, and the police force, and it leaves the weak and the powerless, that you try to champion, open to be abused even further.

If every western government was to turn around, and dispand, what would happen? No protection from crime (oh, no wait, forget that, with no administration, there is no crime. theres no law to define it) No more support for the sick and jobless. And our borders (which no longer exist) are open to the next greedy, corrupt [censored] with a half organised millitary to walk all over us and start the problem all over again, possibly make it worse.

Yes, government is corrupt, but its the lesser evil than humanity as a whole.
The government AS IT IS needs to be taken down and remolded, not the concept of government as a whole.

I think they should add some realism and have the mediport system go offline. Afterall, infrastructure such as that would be one of the first things targetted by an invader. Have triage units dotted around the zones during the world event, like in the safeguard missions, and you res at those instead. You could be picked up by paramedics and driven there, just without the animations so no different to now really, but it would add realism!

I remember me and Echo practicaly applauding him out of charector for it.

I also had one charector a long time ago who, although wasnt openly [censored], was somewhat camp. Didnt get past lvl14 with him though, and he was abbandoned.



but on the subject of Lesbians... of all the female charectors i known.... 4 where straight, 2 are asexual (1 doesnt ever mention preference, 1 was an asexual but seemingly lesbian female demon) 2 where Bi (1 now married to a man, 1 who has never had a male partner in her known history despite claiming to be Bi) and dozens apon dozens of lesbians.

Is this reflective of the playerbase? the real world? or just that theres so many male playing female charectors?

Theres a major difference in the recent timeline and what i see in game that suggests this.

1: the rikti war. America was in no fit state to go into 'police actions' against the taliban.

2: bush may not be the president. no bush administration, means no war on terror.

3: ive yet to hear anyone mention the war in iraq IC. so im assuming the above 2 must mean that there was no war, or that it was on a much lower scale than we had in the RL

My main, Lunk, is an industrialist, a slum lord (although he bought the property with the intention of renovations) he runs an organisation that "preys on suffering for profit" (or offers hope to those with no other choices, and the right money... depends on your viewpoint), he works through legal loopholes and institutional corruption, he has a history in the millitary and has strong nationalist EU views, and is an authoritarian.

well, my In Game Bio is little more than ((RolePlayer)) and a breif description beyond what the game shows (accent, or visable things that arent...actualy visable IG) mainly because of the tendancy of n00b RPers reading bio's and using things in there even though theres no reason they would know (same as how they instantly know your name or that your a 'hero' or 'villain')

A brief security file can be found here (although anyone reading it should remember that information on there would only be OOC knowledge unless they have access to longbow, or EVIL's records)

and theres also (since Lunk has been around since just after US release, and i like to be thorough) a steadily growing 20KB text file, containing backstory, family history, tech spec, criminal record, time line back to 1932, and various tidbits.
.... but your no one is getting their hands on that.
