  1. 3 quick notes:
-I too was a bit nervous about it, but built Father Xmas' higher end build in his signature with a few tweeks a few years back and couldn't be happier.
-In addition to New Egg, which is great; I purchased several components from my local Micro Center store. They have notoriously great processor prices and price matched online retailers. They have many US locations, but primarily in the largest cities. If you have one nearby, I recommend you stop by before you purchase any components.
-I have used my gaming computer ONLY for gaming. I don't surf the web or install any other applications on it. This has kept it running very smoothly. If you currently have a decent computer, I recommend you keep it and do the same. Both hardware (KVM) and softare (Synergy) solutions exist to help you manage them both simultaneously.

    Good luck!

  2. It was me, but I'm all set now. I had one on another toon too, but was trying to "craft on the fly" during team night. I got it emailed over on Tuesday. Thanks anyway!
  3. On a different note, we seem to be steamrolling through most +4 content fairly well with large teams. Outside of large damage spikes (like from 54 Recluse), we're nearly undefeatable when together, buffing, and paying attention on all content so far. One thing that is noticable is that bosses take a while to go down, especially when we start running on smaller teams. Now, these are still +4/5 to most of us, so it is somewhat expected. +0/1 do melt like butter when we bother with them. In other words, we don't have huge weaknesses, but if I had to choose one it would be damage output. To this end, I have 3 ideas I'd like to submit to the group for thoughts:
    1. Assault - I have this power, but often notice mine is the only one running. I've heard endurance issues as a reason for skipping it, but hopefully, we're now mostly out of the woods on that front with cycling Chronoshifts and well slotted powers. If anyone respecs (or hasn't picked up a power at level 49 yet), I suggest you try to incorporate this into your build. Perhaps, by this point, you have a power that you just don't use that much or was a novelty pick that can be replaced. It is slot-light as 1 or 2 EndRdx are all that is needed for most and can be selected by itself nearly at time. 15% damage from me doesn't have much impact, but 120% from all of us (18.75 from the defenders!) will.
    2. Musculature Alpha - Our buffs pretty much take care of just about everything else I need so this is a no brainer for me. I think Persona went Intuition as a controller, but I'm going all damage on my corr - Core Musculature is a no brainer.
    3. Interface is a little less clear - I'll probably go with the obvious stand by of Reactive for the -res, but how do Degen's -Max HP and Diag's -regen compare on team DPS? Anything that helps us kill faster sounds good.

These are the routes I intend to take to help our kill speed a bit. This is certainly not a "you should do this too", but more of a "What do you guys think? Any alternate ideas?"

    BK

PS - Mezzes are also a bit of an issue for us, but I see those as an annoyance more than something that truly degrades our performance. I plan to combat that annoyance with Clarion, but doubt we'll need a lot of those for most things.
  4. Protonic Reversal is 2 bubs into 49 so should hit 50 regardless of what we do. That's my only real goal for Friday. I will be on early and ready to roll out on something right at 8:00. I will miss Sunday and the following Friday (4/6) for yet another vacation (Vegas, baby!) I'll be back on Sunday 4/8, but it's Easter, so I may be late from family obligations.

As I mentioned last Sunday, I was hoping for a +4 LRSF/STF. I'd really like to see what we can do on some more challenging content now that most of the regulars are 50 and starting to get some incarnate work in. I was planning on a warm up with some of the mayhems I'm still missing (Bricks, FF, PI), hammering out a LRSF/STF, and then running the Ramiel arc for the newly minted 50s (I think Slider is also close and PC just hit 50 at the end of Sunday - big grats).

However, I'm not tied to that plan and can certainly be convinced to do both LRSF/STF and a WST, though I think most of us have done Kal so I'd push for Sutter, although it's a bit longer.

We'll probably have to make a gametime decision. If we don't get 8 45+, then high level TF is out (or will have to fill/pug). If we get heroes, then LRSF/Kal is out. If we get 12+, then we'll probably need to run both anyway.

Personally, I'm a VIP because of two reasons. The first one is the price point is actually very worthwhile when you subscribe during the holiday stea-- er, I mean, deal. Subscribing that way, the average monthly cost is just over $10, which is exceptional in my opinion.

The second one, and I know a bunch of people won't feel this way but oh well, I do, is showing loyalty to the game, its developers, and its publisher. I think they do a great job--much moreso than most game companies. I want them to keep doing so for a long, long time, and I know that to do so, they have to have a continuous stream of income.

I know this sounds corny, but I'd feel a bit guilty about enjoying the game as much as I do without shelling out something for it. That's how I roll. I'm also the guy who shelled out for shareware back in the day, even for (especially for) software that you could use indefinitely for "free" without nag screens and such. Even paying the bare minimum subscription fee I can get away with by taking advantage of the holiday deal, I still spend probably way more than my fair share in the Paragon Market. Not because I'm such an über-powergamer (if you saw me play, you'd know), but because I want to say, "Hey, this is cool, nice job!" And more selfishly, "Keep making more stuff!"

Now don't get me wrong, I don't feel like I throw money foolishly at the game. I do take advantage of any discounts I can get (like the aforementioned holiday discount, and sales on the market). On the other hand, I also spend what some might consider a crazy amount on hosting the Titan Network sites, which I'm doing semi-selfishly for the purpose of learning and hanging out with cool smart people, and some of which is offset by very cool people making donations.

At any rate, I can't imagine canceling my VIP subscription anytime soon. Yeah, the Incarnate stuff is nice, as well as the store stipend and Paragon Tokens and the bonus access to stuff I'd otherwise have to pay for. I really do feel that is reason enough to subscribe. If you don't, fair enough. But this is also a seven-plus-year hobby I've invested in that I like quite a bit, and that counts for a lot, too.
I was going to respond, but Tony pretty much did it for me. As others have stated, I find VIP a remarkably good value for my entertainment dollar. I find market prices fair for most items and if they aren't, I simply don't buy them. I also am invested in the longevity of the game and am willing to pay to help ensure it.

PS - I'm also proud to be a very cool person that Tony alluded to! Thanks Titan Net!

However, it's now Daylight time in the USA so I'm assuming they mean PDT and not PST. It's a common mistake, but I guess we'll know for sure if it really doesn't come up until 7:00 am PST, which is over an hour away.

Awesome trailer. Why isn't this linked in the main announcement? It's really good, and I'm glad I happened to check the discussion thread.

I22 looks really exciting too. Nice work.

Protonic Reversal is 28ish, but still a villain. Slider and I snagged a few tips earlier to put us at 6 each, but I don't think we'll be able to get anymore tonight. To that end, I plan to stick with a villain team. Perhaps I'll warm up with a few papers to get some progress on the Talos mayhem, then a Tarikoss, a Kal, and maybe a JST favorire: Renault.

Not a bad idea, but Darkness Affinity and Assault seem good too so I may wait for a chance at that pairing. Plus, I'm out again next weekend so will take the opportunity to get a few levels on Protonic.

    See you all tonight!
  9. I use Titan Waterworks extensively. After a fairly steep initial learning curve, I now find it accurate and fairly useful in incarnate building with my large stable of alts. I'll see if I can put together a simple guide at some point, but you may want to ask over at the Titan Network forums. Lots of friendly folks there, although it does look like a similar request in November does not have any responses.

If you're seeing any non-NCsoft advertising or popups when viewing our e-mail newsletters, it's highly likely due to a third party application.
On a related topic, how do I get these emails? I've checked every option I can find, and still don't recieve anything from NCSoft outside of "account activity" stuff.

Ironic that the ONLY source I actually want to see marketing emails from is the one that I don't.
  11. Welcome! Glad to see more new blood joining us. I'm proud that we inspired your first post on the boards too!

It's not too late to join us for Time Manipulation goodness. We're just about to enter our 3rd week on the project, but we always try to include everyone and catching up is usually quick, especially with a Double XP weekend coming up.

What did I miss over the weekend? Any good tales of villainy or hilarity? I look forward to Friday.
  12. Great fun on Friday. I can tell this is going to be powerful when we're rolling over enemies and haven't even gotten to the final 3 heavy hitters in Time Manip yet.

Great to see the old Justice Superteamers coming back for more (we missed you PC and Purg), and meet some new folks too! I'll add to the chorus of invites to join us if you missed the first (few) session(s). Even if you're just reading this post a month after we start, I really encourage you to come on out on Friday or Sunday at 8pm EST/New York City time (GMT- 5 for the next month/GMT-4 starting 11 March for our non-US friends) and join the "Justice Superteamers" channel.

We have fairly consistently run our projects 5-6 months each. Missing a few sessions does not matter at all. Heck, I'd guess that if you showed up for an average of half the sessions, you would still hit 50. I've leveled 2 alts form 1->50 on our Earth project. Regardless, I guarantee we'll make sure you're included and you'll have a lot of fun or your money back. I will miss both sessions next week and another weekend in March and am not sweating it.

Roll up a Time Manipulation Defender, Controller, or Corruptor, grab a few levels and an AP bank jet pack if you can and head on over to Cap tonight. Most folks are in the mid teens so I figure we'll possibly see Sky/Steel bank missions, Marshall Brass (yet another temp jetpack), Seer Marino, some Rogue tips, and maybe even Spring Fling or a Virgil Tarikoss SF.

  13. This is today!

Come join our group of fun, mature players on Justice tonight at 8pm EST. See the post on the Justice forum for details.
  14. I was going to say
THIS IS TODAY!! Come join us at 8:00PM EST for time bending goodness!

but I got lost in Persona and EF's strange, slashy sidebar.

    mmmmm, pie

Of course he did. Nice work.

I did some advertising while doing my weekly day job swap last night. Hollered out in broadcast and on some Justice channels. I got us on the JfA MotD. I couldn't get any Mod response for JU so continue to give them a tell if anyone else gets on. I fielded a couple follow up questions.

To anyone checking out the thread who has not teamed up with us before, the core group of the Justice Superteamers are a fun group of mature gamers who are very casual friendly. As you can read above, we go out of our way to make sure everyone is able to participate and having fun. Team and channel chat always makes me laugh. New players are welcome. Come out on Friday and have some fun!
  16. I plan on doing some pub this week, starting tonight with some in-game broadcasts. I may also see if I can convince a Mod on one of the big Justice channels to include a quick message about our party in their MotD. Now that Player Events is no more, I wasn't sure what non-server specific forum might be good for a shout out as well to notify folks who may not read Justice because they don't play on it normally.
  17. The former.

Tokens received after you've filled tier 8, can go into either tier 9 OR tier 9 VIP, assuming you are VIP.
  18. I didn't even have to go that far. Just hitting "Back" to the server list and reselecting the server cleared it up for me. I have had it happen intermittently (but rarely) for several months now.
  19. "Try to imagine all life as you know it stopping instantaneously and every molecule in your body exploding at the speed of light."

You know I won't miss another chance to run with the Justice Superteamers. I'm going Beam/Time and will be locked and loaded for the 10th. Disintegration works like a status effect on the enemies. Each enemy is either disintegrated or not disintegrated. It doesn't matter who it comes from, but it also doesn't stack in effect.

    Launcher Reset?

Can you not change the settings before you load the game?

I have that setting checked as well, but it only shuts down AFTER I click on CoH and "Play". I can change settings as I see fit prior to that.

I feel like I'm missing something. Is there some way to "auto-play" the game that I'm unaware of?
  21. I've seen this happen as well, but in my case, it was a co-op zone (RWZ). I went into RWZ on a rogue and was removed from the TF team. The team does not disband, but the rogue is removed from it. In the OP's case, if they are all rogue and all went into Ouro, then it would seem like the entire TF was disbanded.

    Leveling Pacts

I hope it happens some day. The UI already seem built to accomodate it. I always speculated that is was coded to allow pacts of 2-n characters where n was some constant in their settings. For the launch of pacts, they set n to 2 to see how it played out and if there was abuse. I hope they do bring them back some day and set n to 8 when they do.

I, too, have several groups I play with regularly who would benefit from having all characters tied in case folks miss a session or 2. The level-gated activities like TFs are a big reason, but it also helps keeps groups going if folks don't feel "left behind". A whole team dinging 50 together would be super fun.
  23. Ice Storm in the Tanker Epic pool doesn't take them in Mids, but has a 150% base accuracy, so I assume it isn't autohit.

Oddly, the Blaster primary version DOES take Acc enh.
  24. I really enjoy teaming with our core group and we always seem to pull in some great newcomers with each project, however, the reason I originally joined Superteams WAS the abusive stacking of buffs. To me, the 2 are synonymous. We got a bit away from this with "Blades" and "Guns", but I still think the buffs are what made those teams. Not everyone has to be a buffer, but there are some cornerstone buffs to each team and when I play a non-buffer, I ALWAYS pick up Leadership and then some other team friendly pool like Med or Conceal.

I want to play Time Manip. I have purposely held off on leveling a Time toon because I want to do it with the Justice Superteamers. Hedge rattled off some numbers for 8 Time toons on Sunday, and I was drooling at the keyboard. I really want us to do only Time/Beam corrs and defs as I think the fun of spreading Disintegration would be great too, but am open to the possibility that that may be too restrictive so I'll start with all Time Manip.

I play Iron Eagles for the challenge, and it can be very stressful. When my highest IE to date died, I literally felt sick and did not play for a while. I play Superteams to MELT FACES! Let's stack buffs and break the game. If we want to up the challenge level, I think there are always ways to do that without purposely gimping our project themes to avoid stacking buff/debuff, most of which have been mentioned previously.

Hell, I'm willing to try the Apex/Tin Mage TFs with no alphas if we really want a challenge after we get a face melting team to 50.

Thanks for getting some discussion started, Starry! When you cast your ballots in 2012, please vote for Time Manipulation/Beam Rifle!

Thanks for the responses. The above were all things I did not know. For some reason, I thought you had to be 20 to even enter FW and didn't know you could get to Pocket D either so that opens up the badging potential quite a bit.

If anyone confirms or denies Mortician, let us know!

One follow up: I specifically TRIED to get Day Trader in Underground Imp as I mentioned. The icon shows, but I get no credit when I log back in. So, it sounds bugged for me, but maybe there is a specific spot I should stand. Any suggestions? Perhaps related - when I logged back in I came out of the door next to the traders (the icon still showed, but no progress listed - I was offline for over 21 days).
