The credits started to roll for Judge and Jury the television talk show Partisan had been interviewed on, and just aired on Paragons Channel 7. Beneath his bronzed mask, Partisan started to smile. He knew full well that neither Gary Judge, or his network could resist the opportunity to interview someone as notorious as himself, and now the show had been screened he was ready to put the next phase of his plan into effect.
Partisan reached across the desk he was sat at, and pressed a few buttons on a sophisticated comm unit, before speaking into it. Street, do you read me?[/b]
There was a crackle of static before the Humanity First agent answered. reading you loud, and clear boss.
Good. Does Sea Four have the device ready?
Yeah, Sea Four managed to pull his finger out. The fan mail is ready to go.
Excellent! Make sure Channel 7 receive it in the morning...Partisan out!
Partisan thought for a moment about Gary Judge. Judge was the sort of person that in many ways agreed with Partisans thinking, if not his methods. However Judge was more useful to his cause not as a speaker, but rather as a martyr. Still, if Judge didnt open his own mail then someone else could be martyred in his place, keeping Gary Judge on the air. After all his show was quite entertaining.
Partisan once again pressed a few buttons on his comm unit before speaking. Quick Fix, have you and Cyberspace left for the Arachnos Ministry of Interior building in Port Oakes yet?
The comm crackled then a female voice came over the comm. Not yet sir...Um Kyle says he needs to ..er finish something first."
Annoyance was evidence in Partisans voice. You tell him to get moving NOW! I will not tolerate his antics, and I want that Arbiter. You have much work to do.
There was a crackle over the comm, and a male voice spoke. Hey, Big P, settle down man. This is a classic episode, and is only a couple of minutes left. Im telling you that Bugs Bunny kills me every time.
Perhaps you should worry less about that rabbit killing you, and more about me instead. MOVE OUT NOW!!!
There was a pair of hasty clicks, as Quick Fix, and Cyberspace shut down their comms. Partisan turned off his own comms, and spun around in his chair. He looked directly at a black, and bronze banner bearing the Vitruvian symbol, of his organisation.
Now we start putting the pieces into play!... -
I had problems with Ghost's forum too. However Archer had an alternative set up, texted me the addy, but when I had to clear space on my mobile, accidently wiped it too.
Anyway kudos to Ghost for stepping in, but seeing as Dante, and Archer are the SG's official moderators, its probably best let them set up the new forum. (And do all the work of course!)

. I cant even post there now. I think discussion over getting a new forum is pretty much mooted now. Any volunteer to set up the new one?

What everybody else has said already.
For example I used "Hero of the City" as a real award given to Britanic by City Hall in the short story "Ding!!!".
On Big Game badges are merely used as descriptors. ie "Faithful" when he was being good, "Slacker" because he is, and "Driller"...um best not ask! -
((Supremacy follows the actions of a number of pro-mutant and anti-mutant factions, as tensions reaach boiling point in the austerity following the second Rikti invasion. The foremost of these are Humanity First, the human supremacist group, and Ebon Sun, a former mutants rights group turned terrorist.
While the plot will have a main storyline running through it both Shadow Phoenix/Helios and myself expect others will no doubt feel some impact from this, and have stories of their own.

MILITIA IN KINGS ROW CLEAN UP!
Story by Katie Norton.
In a press conference called by the hero Britanic, he announced the newly reformed Militias intention to clean up Kings Row, where the super team is now based. However this clean up doesnt just refer to the high levels of crime that has historically plagued the Row, but rather physically helping to restore some of the Rows most neglected, and downtrodden areas.
The first of the projects planned in the Militias Cleaning Up Our Community initiative is the dilapidated Jimmy Carter Baseball Park. The Jimmy Carter field hasnt been in use since before the first Rikti Invasion, and is currently an overgrown mess of brambles, weeds, and junk from years of fly-tipping. The parks bleachers are in a dangerous state of repair, and the outbuildings are all currently condemned. Though the park will need extensive restoration , the benefit to the community will be immense.
In Britanics own words...
Restoring the Jimmy Carter Baseball Park isnt just about giving our children somewhere safe to play, its about restoring hope to a community. Its about showing that no matter how bad things get, through hard graft, and teamwork things can always be put right again.
I will be putting the resources of my own company, Sentinel Industries, into this, while my own Militia teammates will be pitching in, and getting their hands dirty too. What I want to see is the people of Kings Row come on down to the Jimmy Carter field, and help us do something of real benefit. After all the Militia doesnt wish to merely protect, and serve, but to actively be a part of, and work alongside our community.
Local residents, are already applauding the Militia initiative, and it looks as if there will be no shortage of volunteers to support the project.
CYBER-CRIME ON THE CLIMB!
Story by George Stantz.
There has been a rash of criminal activity perpetrated against technical and munitions companies situated in Paragon, and the Rogue Isles of late.
Supposedly super secure computer systems have been hacked with relative ease, and several firms have been victims of robberies where their security systems have been shut down.
One Rogue Isles based company, Corpmunitions, had several pieces of experimental technology stolen after their systems were shut down.
In Paragon, the PPD's cyber-crimes division is currently investigating several cases of cyber-intrusion into the computer systems of several Paragon based technology giants, possibly... Cont pg.2

I see my old friend Britanic is playing politics again. Hoping to establish that rabble the Militia as some sort of peoples heroes. They should of stayed disbanded when Wayne Securities shut them down.
Do you think the Militia are likely to cause us any problems with the Ebon Sun operation sir?
Partisan turned to face the long brown haired woman clad in a uniform similar to his own. His green eyes visible through the bronze metalic mask seemingly trying to stare her down.
If everything goes to plan my dear Quck Fix, the Militia, and especially mutants like Britanic will be more concerned with dealing with the negative feeling brought against them thanks to the actions of Ebon Sun, rather than chasing us down.
Yeah, its great that a group who is supposedly looking out for mutants is gonna take the fall for all the trouble we are gonna stir up for em
Both Partisan, and Quick Fix turned to the Humanity First officer Street, dressed as they were, sat on the cold concrete floor cleaning, an automatic pistol. The blond haired Blackshirts badly scarred face, a memento from an encounter with former Humanity First enforcer Big Game, contorted, and twisted as he spoke.
Thats what I like about working with you boss, you always got a patsy ready to take the blame, whether they know it or not.
This isnt an exercise in appropriating blame Street. This is a clever strategy to help the simple people of Paragon, and the Isles come to the realisation that the mutants, and eventually all metas among them are threats that need dealing with.
I see in the paper that Cyberspaces efforts to gather the equipment he requires seems to be continuing without problems. Lets hope his abilities continue to prove their worth when we kidnap Arbiter Coles from the Arachnos Ministry of the Interior.
Partisan, its not that I doubt your strategy, but kidnapping an Arbiter is incredibly risky. You know that an attack on an Arbiter is seen in the same light as attacking Recluse himself. If something goes wrong, Arachnos wont hesitate to hound us at every turn.
Im well aware of that Quick Fix. Which is why there had best be no mistakes. This kidnapping is an integral part of my strategy in the Isles, and I will not reconsider. As for my Paragon City strategy we will continue to wait on Gary Judge to make his decision on interviewing me.
You think hes gonna go for it boss?
Although Partisans mask fully hid it both Quick Fix, and Street knew he was smiling.
Of course he will Street....Think of the ratings! -

The Paragon Police Department were called out in force in order to break up an epic brawl at the infamous super hero fetish strip club Unmasked in the very early hours of Thursday Morning. The PPD made a total of twenty seven arrests. Sixteen were sailors from the USS. Paragon currently in home port, the other eleven were civilian patrons of the club.
It is also rumoured that notorious Pact mercenaries Big Game, Echo Thompson, and Iron Alligator were present at the club, and may have actually been responsible for the brawls outbreak in the first place. However all three seemingly made good their escape.
Echo Thompson is said to have literally leapt her way past the PPD. Iron Alligator, having played Possum, escaped in the ambulance that was taking him to hospital despite Iron Alligator having been shot in the head by one officer. While Big Game apparently walked out of the main entrance to the club dressed as the heroine Swan from the Vindicators. Two PPD officers are currently being disciplined for apparently abandoning their post, allowing Big Game to escape.
The reason the three mercenaries were present in the club is still unknown, but a PPD insider said that club owner Sleaza was found bound, pants down, and with what looked like Echo Thompsons pink tassel rammed into his mouth.
The cybernetic police hero COP, who led the PPD response refused to comment, but appeared far from happy about the whole affair.
The normally vocal Sleaza was also uncharacteristically tight lipped about the incident. However this has been attributed to the embarrassing circumstances in which he was found.
Despite extensive damage to the club interior. Unmasked was open for business as usual the following night. Sleaza has also drafted in extra security for the duration of the USS. Paragon's stay in Independence Port... Cont.Pg2

Ok its obvious there is plenty of interest in this, and there is all kind of goodies out there worth nabbing.
I had a rethink about the putting people in peril bit as an incentive mainly due needing to have extra contigency plans in place to deal with overzealous heroes, or narked villains.
As for the main villain I have had everything from bored gazillionaires, cosmic beings, Greek Gods, obssesive hero fan boys, and a genius PC gamer geek run through my head.
As for the event itself, im not actually looking to run it for a few weeks just yet. However im off work next week so im hoping to have a full plot outline, and plan ready for posting. after that it will be a case of setting a start, and finish date, and let the chaos begin.
In the meantime feel free to continue expressing your interest in being a part of this event, and any thoughts you might have in this thread. -
As I said earlier incentive can be provided through reward or threat. One of the conditions of the competition will be you cant tell any person why you need that item or you forfiet the prize. Players will know who other players are but not their motivation for playing.
That way if Game was a player (he wont be), he could be blackmailing into playing in order to protect the children of St Joeseph's orphanage, which he secretly sponsers.
Going back to the earlier example where Game confronts Love Angel. Love Angel will probably assume Big Game is in it for some sort of personal gain, and unlikely to give any quarter. also if either one was to tell the other why they needed Lunks socks then they'd forfiet their prizes being Little Billy, or the kids from St. Joes.
As for the main villain its still early days but im kind of partial to some sort of club, or small group with either the power, or resources to force the players to jump through hoops. I like the idea of a group so that similar nuttyness can be run by someone else at a later date, and I can be a player.
Also im partial to the sort of free for all set up so you could potentially have hero vs hero, villain vs villain etc.
But as I said still brainstorming at the moment so the concept is still open. -
[ QUOTE ]
but I'm not sure I quite understand exactly how this is going to work smoothly.
[/ QUOTE ]
Hence this discussion thread. Its not just to see who is interested but also to help brainstorm ways of running it.
A key element will be item owners providing GM assistance over their own stuff. Basically if player A is going for an item from player B. Then player A should contact Player B with his plan so Player B can decide how feasable it is. This becomes especially important, as player C decides to throw a monkey wrench in the works. However once an item has been passed on, its new owner gains GM responsibility over the item.
Remember although this will be set up as a competition the reality is this is more about the RP than actual result so dont be too proud to lose. If needed artbitration assistance could be on hand if anybody really thinks its needed.
However this thread is also for suggestions so speak up. -

One thing I was thinking is, with a finite number of items and infinite number of people after them, many people will end up with no items at all.

Also once you have an item you have to keep hold of it until the end of the event leaving you open to losing it to another player.

ie...
Love Angel finally gets the socks Big Lunk stuffs his pants with, and is running to save little Billy when...
Big Game..."Hiya babe. Thanks for going in there. Lunk may be a pal of mine but there was no way in hell I would of gone rooting around for them socks. How's about you hand them over nicely?"
Love Angel pulls the socks close to herself, and turns away slightly in order to guard her prize. "No way ruffian, you cant have em!"
Big Game..."Jeez, why cant anything ever be easy? Hate to do this with you being a pretty hot chick, and all that, but I need them socks." Big Game pulls out his baseball bat, and advances on Love Angel.
(Sorry but I soooo love to use examples!)

[ QUOTE ]
I might, depends on if I can get my game working again, or arrange something out of game. *Muses*
[/ QUOTE ]
Thats the beauty of this, the method people use to get the items will be largely left to them (with obvious consent of the owner of course). Doesnt necessarily need to be done inngame. Plus im still in the brainstorming phase at the moment so it wont be ready to go for a while yet. Any luck you will be back properly then Z.
As for being involved. While the items will come from high profile heroes, and villains the participants dont need to be.
Having Shydow sneaking about to get bits, or Wavekite having a crisis of conscious on how far she is willing to go to get something makes for great RP in my book. -

Tycoon Cleared of all Charges
Billionaire Henry Swift was released from custody today after te Ironguard Industries case was closed. Several employee's, most notibly a man named Berkley readily confessed to all charges brought against Mr Swift, and claimed that he had no knowledge to the scandalous allegations. His lawyer Ms Phos had this to say -
"This incident and incarceration has been trying for my client, having been roughly treated by a group of vigilante's who cared not for going through proper channels to bring up their concerns. If they had this whole matter would have been alot less complicated and their concerns would of been calmed internally"
Mr Swift was then givern a public apology from the president of the FBSA and told that he shouldn't let a group of small minded individuals ruin the reputation of the whole hero community. When asked if the incident had discouraged Mr Swift from visiting Paragon City again he stated -
"The whole freedom phalanx couldn't keep me away"
This is fortunate as Swift and his company LAI do alot of business in Paragon. Countess Crey was especially pleased with the news and offered a Paragon protector escort for Swift or any member of the LAI corporation if they wished to visit again. When asked what his future holds now the crisis is over Swift replied -
"I think I'll just dissappear for a while, but trust me, I shall return"
He declined to comment where exactly he was going -
Ok it seems people are up for giving up their goodies, but im also looking for potential players who in fairness will be doing the actual work of the event.
Im also thinking that if you have a character who is going to have an item on the list then that person shouldnt be a player and IC unaware of whats going on. So if if I decided that Lunk's old EVIL shirt was an Item then Lunk wouldnt atually be a participant. (nothing to stop him using another toon though)
Lastly the items will be connected to media/community known figures. After all there is no point saying I want the belt buckle of Robo-Rawhide if nobody IC knows who it is. (Former concept character of mine, sort of Westworld meets the Terminator)
-
Im a big fan of humour in my RP, so despite the fact some poor sap is likely to be tied up hanging over a pool of man eating sharks with frickin' lasers on their heads to encourage some people's participation, id like to see some funny stuff.
ie...
Love Angel... "Sorry Big Lunk but I really need the rolled up socks you stuff your pants with!"
A red faced Big Lunk... "....Stu...stuff my pants!....no...no never....I mean they aint stuffed!"
Love Angel... "Sorry big guy but little Billy is going be blasted and chomped up by sharks if I dont get them!" Love Angel leaps on top of Big Lunk fighting a furious melee as she tries to get her hand down his pants "Stop struggling. Gimme!".
(Sorry Lunk, I couldnt resist)

Last night I was plot brainstorming with Echo for the pact when this potentially fun community plot idea popped into my head. What i'd like to do is give a brief outline, and get the rest of you guys to tell me what you reckon, give any suggestions on how to run it, as well as express any interest in being involved.
Basically the idea is this...
A villain (or small group so others can take turns organising similar events), along the same lines as CoX's Gamester from the winter events, is going to coerce several heroes, and villains into collecting tradewmark items from other heroes, and villains within a set time. To ensure participation the villain will either greatly reward, or greatly endanger someone to encourage the heroes, and villains.
As for the sort of stuff he is after it will be things like Partisan's golden mask (it won't thats just an example). However i'd like the items to come from all corners of the community's most famous toons (I already got my idea on a few people, and items I think would be great).
How the participants actually get the items that will be left up to them. However the person who actually owns the item will have the GM decision on whether an item is obtained or not.
Using Partisan as an example again if somebody said to me they want to write a story where their own toon breaks in to Partisan's private address and nicks his mask off the dresser, then it would be up to me to decide if it was plausable or not, and tell that person yes or no to if they get the mask that way.
Getting the items can be through stories, ingame RP, messenger RP, forum RP, IC PVP, etc, but must be evidenced in some way. So if you did ingame RP a short recap is needed.
Also once you have an item you have to keep hold of it until the end of the event leaving you open to losing it to another player.
What im hoping to achieve through this is to encourage some creativity, rivalry, and different RP interraction between characters that may not necessarily ever normally cross paths, as well as setting up an oddball npc villain/villain group for similar antics.
So please feel free to give your opinions, suggestions on better running the event, express an interest in being a player, or willingness to allow one of your toons items to be on the scavenger list. Also if any one else feels they might like to knock up a villain to be part of this group to run a future event, please say so here too. -
I for one try to make an effort with the recaps as I often find them to be a great source of inspiration for my own stuff. The Riot in the Row storyline developed directly from one such recap.

There was a knock at the hotel room door, and a female voice from outside announced...
"..Room service! I have, your breakfast and newspaper sir."
The notorious mercenary hunter Big Game leapt off his bed. Not bothering to don a robe or pants he opened the door wearing nothing more than a pair of black boxer shorts, covered in red love hearts. The young woman at the door turned crimson on seeing the practically naked Big Game, and hurried her way to a table, quickly placing the tray of food, and the newspaper down. As she turned around she noticed the TV was playing one of those movies usually watched at night, and that was charged extra on the hotel bill. The poor girl turned an even deeper hue, and hurried out of the door, just as Big Game called after her...
"...Hey I aint even given you your tip yet!"
He then chuckled as he sat down. Pouring some syrup over his waffles, he started to read this morning's edition of the Paragon City Post.

AN INVESTIGATION is underway into one of the citys largest companies today after Freedom Corps discovered evidence of illegal experiments.
Billionaire Henry Swift and several employees of weapons manufacturer Ironguard were arrested by Freedom Corps last night after irregularities were found during searches prompted by reports of disturbances in Independence Port and Brickstown.
The heroes Britanic and Miss Teen led a Freedom Corps team into a cargo ship located off Independence Port and an office building in Brickstown where dozens of casualties were discovered.
After posing for photographs towing the ship into dock, Miss Teen made a short statement. She said: At 10pm tonight, myself and Britanic responded to simultaneous distress calls made from a cargo ship approximately two miles off shore and Ironguards office complex in Brickstown. During our routine response to these calls, we discovered evidence of experimentation banned under international law. It is our duty to ensure a full investigation is carried out and charges brought if appropriate.
Although we cannot elaborate on the nature of the nature of the experiments, we have passed on our findings to Paragon Police Department and the appropriate departments of the United States Government.
Britanic added: I would like to take this opportunity to thank a group of people without who this investigation would not have been possible. Some of us like Missy and myself wear our colors on our sleeves, but there are many who watch over this city without thanks or recognition. Well today, I thank them.
Equipment was still being removed from the premises in Brickstown this morning and hundreds of employees have been informed to make themselves available for interview.
Ironguard is a subsidiary of the global corporation League Associated Industries. This morning, LAI board member Alex Romanov, himself no stranger to controversy with recent illegal weapons trade charges being recently dropped after the disappearance of several key witnesses, made a statement from the steps of Romanov Tower, Steel Canyon.
Mr Romanov said: League Associated Industries will cooperate fully with any investigation into Ironguard. I can assure you that neither Mr Swift or the LAI board had any knowledge of these alleged irregularities.
We are grateful that this has been brought to our attention and Paragon City can rest assured that we will investigate fully and take appropriate measures.
I look forward to meeting with those individuals who prompted this inquiry to repay them in person for the service they have done our corporation.

Hat covering his face, Big Game led on a sun lounger snoozing away on the forward deck of his boat, the Jelly Fish Dream. Without warning he was rudely awakened by a rolled up newspaper that knocked off his hat as it was hurled at him.
Big Game lept to his feet frantically sooking about as he tried to figure out what was going on.
"Hey Game! Newspaper from Paragon. Its got a couple of your buddies in it. Thought you'd be interested."
Big Game looked over to the man, whose boat was passing by his own. Salty Pete he was known as. Not some sort of sea faring reference, but rather in homage to the fact he always got caught out by the loosened cap of the salt shaker prank.
Big Game picked up the newspaper, and shouted over to Pete. "Thanks Salty...and if you ever wake me like that again il freakin' sink you!"
Salty Pete grinned as he turned away to steer his boat towards the wharf.
Big Game opened the newspaper, and started to read...
Awww man Helios bought it. Pity, for a egghead he was ok. 'Spose I better tell the others.
Big Game rolled up the newspaper, and put it into his back pocket. The he reached into the cooler beside his sun lounger, pulled out a beer and silently toasted his dead friend.
