Enjoy the time with your family and good luck in the job hunt. You have been a great community manager and I will miss those coffee talks. I expect to see you back after we have saved the game. Until then, be well.

Quote:I'm surprised that someone hasn't already made "the forgotten Penny" a major story MacGuffin. Her powers could drastically alter the power balance of a place like Praetoria or even Primal Earth.Katie? What about the forgotten Penny, poor little Penny Preston?
http://wiki.cohtitan.com/wiki/Penny_Preston
Also, it's one of the last places in the game where you can see Statesman still. Just look at that shirt! -
You said in the coffee talk that the sustainability powers would not stack. Does that mean that the click powers need to be activated every 60sec or will a new activation after 45sec restart the the clock at zero?
I only ask because some of the language used to describe how they work seems to imply that the power lasts for 60sec and then needs to be recast. Other times it seems like the counter will reset with each new casting regardless of whether the 60sec duration has expired. -
So glad I held off on the CoT and CoL costume bundles. So sad that I am down to 700pp and will have to buy some more if I want Retro Scifi next week.
You win Paragon Studios. -

That is one of the many costume packs I've been waiting to see go on sale. The Carnival bundle is another sale I've been waiting for. I can't bring myself to spend 400pp on it if the male models only get access to the weapons. It's not even that many pieces.

Quote:That would make him a random (and less well known) DC character hanging out with a bunch of guys from Marvel. Human Torch is more likely.I'm thinking that's an "early" Firestorm from the 80'-90's?
Back when he was more "Nuclear-man" & not "Fire-Elemental", and way before this "Firestorm Matrix" nonsense (with Black/White/? Lantern "tie-in-stuff"... That I just wasted time looking through on Wikipedia *sigh* -
Okay. Since this is a feedback thread I thought I'd mention something that I'd like to see that isn't on the survey.
More Blaster secondaries. Specifically a "Natural" secondary that isn't Devices. Maybe something that uses some of the powers or animations from Martial Arts and/or Street Justice (without the combo mechanic obviously) that could cover the melee/PBAoE powers generally provided with the Manipulation sets with a little Devices and/or Traps thrown in for utility.
Something along the lines of:
1. Web Grenade
2. Thunder Kick/Initial Strike
3. Caltrops? (not sure what to put here, maybe something new even)
4. Cobra Strike/Storm Kick/Heavy Blow
5. Build Up/Focus Chi
6. Dragon's Tail/Spinning Strike
7. Acid Mortar/Smoke Grenade
8. Center (a variation on the +End powers in some of the sets that maybe works like Conserve Energy or just gives +End)
9. Crippling Axe Kick/Sweeping Cross
This is just what I came up with using existing powers as an example of the kind of thing I'd like to see. Obviously entirely new powers could be just as cool if not cooler. Regardless, I'd like to see a new Blaster secondary that allows for a "Natural" Origin w/o being Devices. -
Quote:I agree with all of these points... especially the v-ncek for the male and huge models. As for the woman's dress, it looks good. I would like to recommend that someone go back and make a metallic texture for the Retro Sci Fi skirt to match the Metallic Club Dress top (or Retro Sci Fi textures for the top) because the two pieces would work very well together if they shared a texture.
I do wish the bubble helmet was not part of the same set of options as beards and facial hair for the men, because this means my space rangers cannot have facial hair. This is a terrible, terrible place for the helmet. Can you please consider moving it?
And of course, my one final complaint. I see no reason to keep the top/shirt from the men. The men desperately need a V neck top, and put a couple of short sleeves on it and it would make a rocking V neck T-shirt for the boys. Please consider porting this over to the gents. I and (many?) others would be most grateful. -
Quote:+1my 8th anniversary "reward" from CoH is that it's still here & I can play it.
Personally, I blew all my points 2 weeks ago on Staff Fighting and discounted IOs. What I had left went to increased storage last week. I'm actually glad that there's nothing this week that I consider a "must have NAO". -
Quote:Even though I already gave a small list of 'wants', I'm going to keep going with it.
Long ago, we used to carry ten crap tons of BASE salvage on hand, and the storage bins used to hold 999 items. Then you came out with Enhancement Salvage and took our 999 item bins away, and instead gave us bins with a limit of 30 items....
WHY??
I rack up, every day, 60 pieces of salvage in an hour, and 9 times out of 10 my salvage inventory is completely full on every toon I have, even though a few of them can hold upwards of 70 pieces of salvage.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE, for the sanity of all of us who use IO's (which is a good portion of the population, regardless of it being a set IO or not) raise the limit in salvage bins back to a 3-digit number. This would decrease the amount of storage bins we have to put down in bases, we might be able to empty our inventory more often.
I don't know if this has something to do with the fragile house of cards syndrome (see my post on page 5) that the base code is. And if it is, Devs, confirm it so we at least know why we're stuck with a 30 item limit in storage bins. We're an understanding community, and in comparison to those 'other' mmo's, we're a million times nicer all around than 'them'. Clue us in on these little QoL issues that have cropped up over the years, and at least acknowledge that some of us see this as a problem.
THIS for sure. While I understand that being able to hoard 999 salvage per bin and being able to have multiple bins in a base can get out of hand, 30 seems arbitrarily low. It seems reasonable that the salvage racks should be on par with the IO and Inspiration storage which both hold 100. -
Finished the Survey and sent an email to my SG mates who don't frequent the forums.
I forgot so much in the "what would you like to see added" section. Then again a lot of the stuff I'd like to see added is already there, just locked behind a specific gender model.
At least I remembered to note that while there isn't much I'd like to see added to Super Packs, I'd love to see some of the consumables removed or at least limited to the COMMON drops as opposed to getting 3-5 of some single use power I don't give a hoot about as my RARE drop. That is a terrible idea and should never have been implemented.
I realize that Super Packs aren't going anywhere and are probably making you guys a boatload of $$, but I certainly don't want to see MOAR stuff locked up behind gambling and random chance. I still don't have the entire Elemental Order set (after buying a 24 pack) and will probably never get the Black Wolf pet with it's horribly low drop rate. I've opened around 1000 Super Packs on the Test server and have yet to get all 6 of the Tanker ATO set.
EDIT: Wow, that came out way more ranty than intended. I'm just having flashbacks to when I played Magic the Gathering and it's making me cranky.
EDIT2: To add something constructive to my rant. Add me to the group that wants global Midnighter membership, Global Patron Powers, and Power/Ancillary Pool customization. I would also like to be able to obtain anniversary badges on newer toons as I rerolled my main when WP dropped. Before the reroll he had them all. -

I have been lamenting not buying the Going Rogue item pack since Freedom went live. Now I can get the costume pieces (which have never been part of a bundle) for Free. This Rocks!
-
Quote:You are not the only one, and I've been saying similar things since Freedom went live. At this point I'm in the camp that just laughs at the prices most weeks and hoards points for when/if things go on sale. I bought 8 sets of Kinetic Combat last week when they were priced at a fairly reasonable 310 (or 318 for the 4 I actually use).Am I the only one tired of seeing price points that are on par with a monthly subscription fee? I understand wanting things like Purple IOs being pricey for the sake of keeping them "rare" but 8 hours of double xp for the price of one month of VIP status?
Let's put the "micro" back in micro-transactions. I completely understand wanting to make money, since NC Soft is running a business after all. But I can't be the only one who understands that lower prices could actually garner higher revenue.
Think of it this way: McDonalds during the recession maintained more growth than Wendy's and Burger King while keeping prices down. It keeps the top spot because it's so affordable. One person buying a $15 item doesn't garner as much as 3 people buying the same item for $7.50.
/rant
I've basically taken the cynical view that the prices on the Paragon Market are inflated on purpose so that when they do 25 and 50% off "sales" we feel like we're getting a bargain. But that's true in most all retail so I'm not holding my breath for a change.
- Would I prefer the "sale" prices be the "regular" prices over having occasional sales?
- Yes, because I wouldn't have to wait for sales and would be more likely to just BUY IT NAO!
- Would I spend more PP on SBE?
- Absolutely.
- Will I be buying storage increase(s) this week?
- Yes. I already broke down and bought the extra Enhancement slots, but I'm eying the +Salvage and +Recipes. Why no +Auction House sale?
- Would I prefer the "sale" prices be the "regular" prices over having occasional sales?

I doubt anyone wants to use them as the brooch option with the spacesuit/cape combo, but for other costumes they would be awesome.
-
Great sales this week gang. I've been looking forward to staff fighting for some time.

That's a really cool idea Z. Just out of curiosity, did you intend to include 2 different stances that give +dmg? I'm not saying that Tiger style and Mantis style can't both give the same buff, but 4 stances rather than 5 does make for 20% less work for the devs.
I'd also expect that were this idea to grow legs, it would probably evolve into a whole new "Kung Fu" powerset that included a power similar to Swap Ammo or Staff Mastery with 3 different toggles to change your stance. THAT is something I would buy in a second and use to reroll one of my first scrappers. -
Quote:I LOVE this idea.Dink,
Late night thought: If it's not too much work, can we get those three new spiffy belt buckles in this pack ported into the Cape Brooch category. The bat brooch in the Halloween pack was a refreshing surprise and represents the only expansion this category has ever received beyond its initial release AFAIK. -

Quote:That's just it. Sure there are ways to get the raptor pack in game for a pittance in terms of INF, but the raptor pack is HIDEOUS. I hate the look of it. I would love the devs forever if they replaced the raptor pack, and especially the craftable jetpack power, with the 30 day jetpack.I quite agree. I would pay for a more aesthetically pleasing version of the raptor pack. My golden age Air Boy style toon could really use this as the raptor pack just doesn't work for his costume. I wouldn't even mind the detoggle.
I use the Flying Carpet on some toons where it is appropriate to their origin and background. -
Quote:I wish they would. I can't fit a travel power into the build for my Rad/Rad Corruptor and have been relying on Ninja Run and the Rocket Board. When are they going to make the rocket pack permanent as a Travel Power? Why is it still only 30 days? I would like to see this up for sale like rocket board and flying carpet.
I could even see people being willing to pay more for it because it doesn't detoggle everything. -
This weeks sales are excellent. I've already purchased more slots and am seriously considering some of the dual inspirations and the Warwolf Whistle. I'm just glad I didn't buy slots a few weeks ago when they were just 25% off.
I've said it before and I'll say it again. The 50% off prices are much better than the regular prices for the exhaustable items like inspirations and temp powers with charges.
$0.50 US for a 5 use temp pet power
roughly $0.35ish US for 5 dual insp
Yeah, that sounds about right for a micro transaction. I could see people blowing through their stipend on DIs and having to purchase points for the big releases like Powersets.
Oh and RAWR!!!1!1!!1 no STAFF FIGHTING... slap in the face.
