I was going to say you were nuts Adam until I read the end because Mage Storm the Blaster has yet to even step foot inside the Warburg.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Oh, you can still say he’s nuts, Mage.

I got to smack the CWK with Bert and quite a few other peeps last night...was great fun but short lived...had to go respec all my heroes for ED.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    I call shenanigans!

    [/ QUOTE ]

No...it's true...he did. I was lost in the Shadow Shard and got a request to help with an AV (oh, and 'Tec, it was the Psychic Babbage, not CWK ). Joined the team, and lo and behold, there was Detective's Dynamic Defendr. He got to listen to my play by play as I tried to bumble my way out of the SS.

Oh yes...played my pre-I5 build of Bert up against Babbage. Thanks to Detective, I never died once.
  3. Now that the niceties are out of the way...our SVG:

The Maelstrom , nemesis to Safe Harbor.

Colors: Dark red and pale gold.

    Logo: Whirlpool

Officers: Pretty much the same officers as over on Safe Harbor. If you've seen one of their globals, you've seen the other.

Maelstrom is the CoV equivalent to Safe Harbor. Same CoC, same basic guidelines (family-friendly chat channel and boards, no powerleveling, just havin' fun with the game), same love of pie and mead.
  4. Curse you Maldini! CUUUURSE YOUUUUUU!!!!!
  5. Dude...that art is excellent. Kinda reminds me of John Cassaday with the clean lines. I've gotta see about raising some funds now to get a pic of Bert done.
  6. I followed it! Of course…people thought I looked like the Gimp from Pulp Fiction…

I've been teaming with a lot of people lately, what with my initiation into Safe Harbor and all. Let's see, I won't mention individual toons (terrible with names, hope I don't miss anyone) there's Ranma, Bert, Crazy Kaze, Umbral Faith, Purrlina. I'd better start writing these down, my memory has gone to heck. I blame it all on the Anthrax shots.

    [/ QUOTE ]

And I'm still amazed that Emerald Maiden can stand up straight, let alone run around and fight without knockin' herself unconscious...

Oh yeah...you also teamed with Fallen, who makes an appearance here every so often.
  8. Teamed with…well…pretty much everybody last night. Like Bippy said during battle…it was an all-star Hami raid.
  9. Well...looks like the old "Finally teaming with" thread went the way of the dodo. Sooo...I guess we'll just have to start it up again, won't we?

Tonight, hooked up with Drizzit in a team (along with Ranma and a few others) and we took on a few AV's. And I dinged 49!

Ran into Dozer on one of the roofs of portal corps afterwards watching the verbal fireworks display in PI and had a chance for a quick hello.
  10. May your brother come home in the same condition he left in. Our thoughts are with him.

    And thanks, Statesman.

Oh my deity! XPP01 is Cal Worthington!

And his dog Spot!!! Man...we used to love misquoting those commercials when I was growin' up...
  12. Honestly, I still don’t think this post is a bad idea. It goes a long ways towards our community feel. We folks just need to be careful what information we share. Y’know…keep away from the specifics (names, company where you work, etc.). Yes…there are folks here who know my actual name (and I trust ‘em with it, otherwise they wouldn’t have it), and if they’re observant, probably know where I work. But again, I trust these folks. I’ve interacted with ‘em for a while, and they’ve earned my trust.

Track of Death voted among the top five groups on Champion woohoo,
    heh:]

    [/ QUOTE ]

Is there a thread that has the votes? If so do you know the name?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Unfortunately, the thread only lasted as long as the voting. ToD was on that list, along with:

    Safe Harbor
    Watchguard
    The Elements
    Heroes Inc. (I believe)

Woot! Pitfall rocked. Unfortunately, we had the Intellivision II, and Pitfall was Atari.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Bert, I hate to tell you this, but Pitfall did come out for the intellivision, just came out a year after the atari version. Sadlly I still have an original Intellivision. *visions of fake woodgrain consoles*

    [/ QUOTE ]

D'oh! My parents lied!!! How could they!!! Oh! My world is shattered now...
  17. TK421, why aren't you at your post?
  18. Woot! Pitfall rocked. Unfortunately, we had the Intellivision II, and Pitfall was Atari. So I had to satisfy myself with Burgertime and Tron Deadly Disks.

But alas…I have hijacked the thread…
  19. I love these threads…

I'm a 30 year old print technician/analyst at a large insurance company here in Oklahoma City. Married to a fellow CoH player (who’s gonna transfer over to Champion once we get the new account and computer set up) and fellow comic geek. Aside from CoH and comics in general, I’m a huge soccer junkie. I usually play at least one game a weekend (but have gone up to five games in a weekend in the past), and try to watch it live and on TV whenever possible (big Manchester United fan).

Our only kids at the moment are the feline comedic duo of Spaz and Twitch, twin cats. (Have a picture of Twitch, too, I just need to upload it, but really, if you’ve seen one, you’ve seen ‘em both)
  20. You don't need the origin...all you must do is go hunt. kill skuls.

But just in case...the origin is floatin' around somewhere on the general discussion board.
  21. Bert_the_Viking

    Ta da!

That's a great avatar. Kudos to the designer. And heck...kudos to Statesman, too. Might as well throw him a few props for this lil' game here...
  22. Wow...feelin' the love in here. Are you feelin' the love?

This is not directed at anyone, and I replied to the last post simply because it was the last post.

This was an art contest, and I know little about art, but since this is an opinion thread, I always have one of those. Cut and paste for some apparently means art, it is possible an entrant was allowed to resubmit and there is no way everyone will agree on fair.

Some of the entries that were listed earlier on the web were removed and others posted. Perhaps it is lack of space, but the Halloween Contest had many more entrants posted than this. It would be great if they had room for everyone, if they don't, well that's how it is.

Cryptic, NC and the judges decided who was best. Just like any contest that is judged by opinion, it is impossible to qauntify the outcome. Art, books (fiction at least), movies, etc... I think that there were better entries. I think that cut and paste is orders of magnitude below hand work or fresh creation. I think some people will be sour grapes no matter what, and that some have legit complaints, at least about the rules.

I think we all pay our money to play the game, and the contests are cool bonuses. I think it's nice to see forums that let you vent or express your pleasure/displeasure like this. I think several of the posters have art that rocks, and I would buy it for wallpaper or just as images. When it all comes down, there is only one first place and one second in a contest, but does anyone who competes in the Olympics deserve to be called a loser?

If you submitted, you are probably part of less than 1% of the players who had the guts to stick your name up for ridicule or praise. Did you win the smoooooth Video Card or T-Shirt? No, but you got our respect, hand drawn or not.

    /salute to you all.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Well said.
