Quote:I could have sworn I said I do other thigns besides that. Next time read the entire post instead of just the parts you want to lol at.I'm not convinced that grinding fire farms is a welcome alternative to grinding iTrials for those 'who prefer to solo' lol.
Eco.
But since you missed what I said in the last post, I also run Tip Missions, I also run TF/SF, I also run the Apex and Tin Mage which provide me with Astrals and Threads. So it all adds up pretty fast. -
Quote:I run +0, x8 with no bosses on either a fire farm map such as the demon map or I run normal tip mission with the same difficulty settings. My Fire / Psi / Fire build tears through pretty much everything I come acrossI'm going to assume you're running at x8 to get that many shards to drop, at a rate of more than one an hour.
I consider myself lucky to get a shard in 60-90 minutes at x4.She definitely kills much faster than my SS/Shield Brute

Bill, if I had to guess, I'd say about about 3-4 weeks running about 3-4 hours a day. Yes, I know people can't always match other people's game play. But that's what it took me. And comparing that to my other characters I did run through the trials, it was a great deal longer as it normally took me about 3-5 days to get fully slotted abilities running trials. But than again, I did run a lot of trials.
-
Quote:I can T4 2 of my slots now if I wanted, but I don't need it, so I stopped at T3 on both of those powers. But when I decide which Lore Pets I want, I will T4 them right off the bat, I will just do side conversions to get the Rares and Very Rares I need. And how much more time before you're T4ed in all slots using nothing but shards? How much more farming/content will you have to do before you even get one of those slots T4ed?
When we were first testing shard drop rates in beta, I was getting 8 an hour on my main doing nothing but farming scanner missions. How many shards will it take to get a single T4?
T4 isn't always better and they normally are, but I see no need to go to T4 unless it will truly benefit me. And to be honest, they wont. Which is why I stopped at T3. -
Quote:I will agree the conversion rates are pretty bad. But taking that into consideration, my Fire / Psi dom has never touhed a trial and yet she is already unlocked all her slots and have abilities slotted in them.A "little" longer? If you're speaking on cosmic timetables, sure.
I am NOT griping about the addition of raid content, BC. I know how many people have been asking for it and for how long they've wanted it. I'm HAPPY for them, for you, all of you.
I'm griping about the idiotic conversion rates. It took me less than two weeks to get T4*2 and T3*3 by doing trials. Compared to the year+ that it would take going the shard route is complete BS. It's not a case of a little longer.
I'm griping about the "here's a metric ton of ways for you to progress for the last seven years" 180 degree turn to "you want incarnate stuff, fine, here's three trials for you to farm, that's all you get, don't like raids, tough #$*&^."
I have the following:
Pyronic @tier 3
Interface @tier 2
Destiny @tier 3
Lore - not slotted yet, I was waiting for the new pets we got yesterday
I use my dom for farming and playing normal content a lot. So I took my shards and converted them to threads, and again I wasn't happy with the conversions but I still did them and it worked out fine for me. So it can be done, regardless of how much we dislike the conversions. But the length of time it took me was a little longer than my others that did do the raid content, but not astronomically longer. -
Without trying to sound rude saying this, this is all I have to say about the raiding.
For the past 7 years this game has been designed around teams and solo play. Now we get raiding for a fairly large populous of the community and people gripe about it. Well you're not forced to run the raid content.
You too can participate in the Incarnate system without entering any raid content. It's just going to take a little longer. You can still earn your Incarnate shards by running the content that has been made for the past 7 years, then convert it to whatever you need. It'll just take you a little longer to get what other people get in a few days of raiding. -
I seriously read all 6 pages of this thread and I'm actually not shocked at all.
In the past 3 years people (not necessarily in this thread) asked in fact begged for end game content and we finally get it an this is what people act like. We've had years of solo content, easy content, and TF/SF that are meant for teams and yet have been soloed by many players. This game is entirely too easy. And for the most part it should be, it allows players to get familiar with the game and like it for what it is. Now that we have end game content for the more serious hard core players, the people who were so use to putting people on follow and auto casting an attack power are now upset because they can no longer do that with these trials.
When the BAf and Lambda was given to us, people complained and now look at it, they are being run on a daily basis and being torn apart by the common player. Give it time and the Keyes will be too. Last night we ran a total of 8-10 Keyes trials and of them we failed once. Not too bad for a new trial and a bunch of new players to that trial. But seriously, it's not hard to expect to have to bring support. I see many people complaining about having to make sure they have healers on the trials. You guys look at this as a bad thing, I look at it as "It's about time" We now have a reason to accept and want to bring healers to the leagues. The Keyes trial does exactly that. And I love that the devs gave us a reason to want to bring healers.
Our league eanred 2 of the badges last night and to be hoenst, it was a blast and we all had one hell of a good time doing it, yes it took coordination, but that was the fun part. Figuring out the strategy for the trial to earn those 2 badges. Now we still have 2 badges to go and probably the harder of the 4 badges. But I can honestly say I look forward to earning these badges. When I earn these badges I will truly feel I achieved the badges instead of them being given to me.
The final phase of this trial is not hard at all, it just takes people paying attention to what they are doing.- Disintegration - When you are being disintegrated heal, it's that simple. there are 3 ticks of damage, just make sure you are at full health on the 3rd and final tick and you will live.
- Obliteration Beam - very easy, look for the very large green patch on the ground and get the hell away from it, don't stand there in aww "What's this green stuff" or "Oh, that's pretty" Run away from it and continue fighting.
- Finally, debuffs you will notice some players have red bubbles on them and some have blue. This is very easy to get around. Blue stay near Blue and Red stay near Red. Mix them up and you will be seriously debuffed in all aspects.
-
Quote:Yes, in the final phase when fighting Anit-Mtter, you have to let him go regen to full life. Once he reaches full life, he will come away from the terminals and the terminal will despawn. A that point you pound on him again, rince and repeat 3 times and then after the 3rd time, you take him down for good.one question, for the not destroying terminals do you basically have to let him heal up to full each time? that shouldnt be too bad if you have a buff/debuff heavy team since the primary dmg is disintegration and obliteration beam with all the aoe buffs and destiny powers going off
And of course the entire time, you are dealing with the Obliteration Beam and the Disintegration. The Disintegration is the real deal breaker in that final phase, if you don't put some serious healing on whoever is being disintegrated, he/she will die. -
Thanks, yeah we will get it, just gonna be a bit of skill and a lot of luck to get those last two
-
Well, I can't say I have it yet, but our league was able to earn 2 of the Badges:
Anti-Anti-Matter - for defeating Anti-Matter bringing his health below 10% at the first reactor & then completing the trial.
Bunker Buster - for destroying 3 doors on a bunker within 3 seconds of each other, and the repeating this with the other 2 bunkers.
But I will say these two badges were very fun getting. The otherr two badges are going to be a complete pain in the butt ...lol
But what has me questioning one of the badges is this:
Loves a challenge: Complete the Keyes Island Reactor Incarnate Trial without having anyone die or destroy any terminals in the final battle versus Anti-Matter.
The way I read this badge text is either complete the trial without dying while fighting Anti-Matter or destroying any of the terminals in the final phase while fighting Anti-Matter.
This is a tad bit misleading IMO, the badge text is read as do either of these two and you will earn the badge, but it appears you have to do both to get it. So it's going to be a job to earn this badge. My league was able to complete the trial without destroying the terminals in the end phase, but we did have a few deaths, and no badge was awarded. -
Here is one I threw together.
This is the standard avatar size for these forums.
I don't know why, but this seriously reminds me of the Pepsi bottle cap...lol -
Well if you really need that Lotg 7.5 recharge you only have Maneuvers or something from the stealth pool. So if you don't want the stealth pool then stay with Maneuvers, but keep in mind you don't need to use it. But if you're on teams and you feel your end recovery is ok, then turn it on it will help your team as well as you.

Suggestions, if you really want to use the Panacea Proc, I would move that to Health. That way it works at all levels. No sense in putting in a level 44 power only to lose it when you exemp down to a lower level.
Also, the +3 resist isn't needed either unless you have the money and just want that extra 3% resist because its not helping your S/L at all, only your Elements and Energies.
I personally think Rage is underslotted. Rage makes this build shine so I like to slot it well. Show it some love
Maneuvers isn't needed at all, you need to remember with Invincibility and 1 enemy in melee, you are at soft capped defense already, when you add 9 more enemies in melee your defense increases, so Maneuvers is more of a end drain on you. Yes its a good power, but not needed at all. -
Quote:Without at least tough, you'll not hit your Smash/Lethal resist cap, so I would highly suggest you take it. Weave can be skipped but you will need to pick up Maneuvers instead, otherwise you won't hit the soft capped defense.Ahh the old tough and weave combo. I never liked using the powers and could never fit them into my build, but now I have the room. Is it possible to hit the soft def. cap and the S/L cap without them (I hate the idea of even MORE toggles).
Quote:How much should I slot combat jumping (if at all)?
Quote:I can't get rid of UNST either, for nostalgia if nothing else (OH the glory cardiac days of perma-UNS).
Quote:I can fit all of the passives in the INV set, and the real issue is what pool powers do I take. Slotting is really an issue now as the three extra powers I get can't get any slots.
Quote:Last question - can you perma DP w/ haste and fully slotted? -

I will most likely move a few characters to that server that I don't play anymore just to make room for newer characters. That way if I ever do need to get away from the nooblets I can go there and have something to play
-
I'll be honest, I don't have much problems with Psi. I run Arachnos/Carnie/Clockwork missions quite often and never had any issues with Psi. I know you can build for psi resist, but I don't feel you have to. Remember, a lot of psi attacks do have secondary damage types like Smashing, which your defense will cover, so that protects you from many psi attacks. And with a well built tank, your regen should cover the rest.
-
Quote:Defense to Psi is the only damage type you can't soft cap, well you may be able to, I never tried. I currently have 18% on my tank, and I didn't even try for it, I just happen to get it. Same goes for Psi resist, its the only major hole in the set.Beef Cake, you recommend soft capped defense to all damage -- how would you go about softcapping defense to psi? /psi is the big hole in the set so you'd pretty much have to do it with set bonuses alone, and getting to 45% just from set bonuses seems pretty futile to me.

Here is a few tweaks to you build, I personally don't like hasten as I stated before but I kept it in for you anyway.
I moved some powers around and retooled some of the slots.

It's a bug with zoning, it has nothing to do with Dom being on auto cast.
-
Just a pointer for those who like to run Hasten.
I would highly recommend you have a lot of end recovery to deal with both the hasten and rage crash. I've had problems in the past running both, and I finally dropped hasten, besides hasten isn't that important on a Invul/SS build a global recharge of 60-70 % will do just fine and its one less power and crash you'll have to deal with.
And I would recommend soft capped defense to all typed damage, not just S/L -
You make some great points, but keep in mind people won't be moving to team with other friends, we have had that option now for quite some time now with server transfers.
If people leave to go to the VIP server it will be to get away from the F2P players. Because the VIP server is no different from any other serer we can transfer to now, other than F2P having no access to it. -
Quote:That's a very good possibility. You run a damaging aura and I do not. The only AOE damage I have is footstomp, and I do see different patterns than you. So it is very possible, but I can't answer that for sure as I have no way to tell. Then we both have different experiences. I can say I've done a great deal of testing on this and I know for a fact that bosses will walk away from you last provided they were hit at the same time.
I've done this with and without my damage aura running. With it, they are much more likely to stick around, as the damage aura refreshes your "most recent attacked" much more often and keeps all enemies at the same "timestamp." I've found I can replicate this without the damage aura by using only AoE attacks.
Now, if you've been using a lot of single or few target attacks, then you throw the system for a loop. Every enemy will have different timestamps, so it will much easier for a boss to be shed by the timestamp rule. -
Quote:I can tell you already, I've done that. And I've seen bosses lose agro and walk away as well. Like I said I do a lot of farming, which is why I say I know rank doesn't play a part in it at all.I've got another test for you to do.
Go aggro one group of enemies that includes bosses. Then jump into another group and punch minions until the first bosses fall off your list. They will be the last to fall off.
You're right that the order of attack is a priority, but it is not the only determining factor. Rank plays a big role.
You're right to say that if bosses were to be the last to walk away I would agree rank would play a part in agro, but like I said that's not the case. I constantly agro multiple groups and I find myself always chasing after bosses when I see them starting to walk away since I lost agro due to me hitting other mobs past my agro cap.
Now, the only way ranks play a part in this is that they are the last to be standing
