Instead of making it the same badge with a hero/villain name, they complicate things and make it a badge that overwrites the other, making the fan sites have to come up with custom code to make the badge work correctly on the site so badge totals aren't messed up for everyone....lol
-
Yeah it was a load of fun, only thing is I never got any badges
I think the system is broken! -
-
Ok, who and or what power set is at 35-39 second mark with the Swords flying all around.
That looks pretty cool! -
Dee, I already have them but I will be glad to help you and others get them. I can bring pretty much anything you need.
But count me in -
Quote:That wasn't me being defensive at all actually, I was just letting you and everyone else know that these screenshots have been there for a while and explained that in my post. You'd be surprised at how many people don't read the sites or take the time to explore it before asking questions about things that have the answer to them right in their face when they log into the site or visit the site. Thanks once again for updating your maps. Like I implied you might very well have updated them YEARS ago for all I know because it's been that long since I used them and noticed a few missing markers at that point.
Why are you -always- so defensive about these things? After all I gave your site the initial plug in this thread to begin with and I didn't mention any problems with them first.
And this thread isn't about my site getting plugged, its known well enough now. Besides, it's not like I get paid from NcSoft for each new member or each plug you make to my site....lol
But take it as you see fit. -
Pinnacle & Protector
Lost Connection to DBserver
How about fixing these so the rest of us can play too.
Thanks! -
At least you all get a email. No matter how many times I subscribe to the news letter I never get anything from NcSoft.
And I even have them on my safe sender list. -
Ever since the redesign of the site, the screenshots have been there.
We only recently added the pictures of the Plaques. But the Exploration images have always been there even before the site's redesign.
The only badges missing images are badges like Multidimensional and Shrouded, badges that really have no exploration marker. Kind of hard to put a picture to something that doesn't exsist -
Well we do show screenshots of all the badges, if you can't find the badges with a picture, then I don't know what else to tell ya

Quote:Speaking of which, why not comment on the changes to the "No Nukes" in the CoP?Cimeroran's have some of the most CPU intensive powers that mobs in the game have access to. Combine that with the sheer number of them, and the AI Scripts they and their allies are following and you end up with multiple n squared issues all hitting the servers simultaneously. It's just plain ugly.
Anyway, no more threadjacking...back to the COP.
You've chimed in here for no reason at all, other then the thread jack and still no answers have been presented to us.
I don't care either way, I don't run it for the lack of rewards the trial offers, but it would still be nice to know the reasoning behind the changes. -
Quote:Could we also take the time to correct the badge name for the exploration badge:
Justice Avenger | Socialite
The villain name Socialite (exploration) is a duplicate name for the Accolade Socialite.
Thanks!
Actually this was already corrected and didn't make the patch notes.
Thanks! -

LOL, I think it's funny reading that people think this was changed due to an exploit. There is no proof there was an exploit, this is just people that like to use the word exploit for anything the devs do to the game.
The only proof we have of anything is that the temp powers were removed. If it were an exploit, I'd think the temp power (nukes) would've be dealt with and handled long ago. If it's a certain exploit with the CoP, and nothing else, then it would be safe to say there is a problem with the trial not the nukes. So no, it wasn't an exploit. If it is an exploit, the devs think they may have fixed it but they didn't.
The devs removed the nukes because they didn't want 24 people taking advantage of the nukes and totally completing the trial in less than 10 minutes.
I've ran a CoP Trail the same way I ran it when the trial was introduced back in Issue 5, nothing has changed with the trail at all. We completed the trail in 12:14 with 3 full teams and we used nukes, shivans and whatever else we had. Not to do it as fast as we could, but to make sure we could complete it.
Future attempts resulted in the same thing only with faster times. The devs most likely felt the trial was being abused with nukes allowing people to complete it in under 10 minutes which made the trial trivial even more so the reward.
Even though we feel the rewards are total crap for that trial and they are! They feel the reward is of great value... lol So they needed to do something to make the trial more of the so called "Risk vs Reward" balance by removing the nukes.
That's my take on the subject. And I still think removing the ability of nukes was a bad choice for a fix. The devs always seem to take the easy way out when it comes to fixing things, at least that's the way I see it.
And for the record, I've yet to see a team defeat the Stormer in the CoP trial on Pinnacle. Even with Shivans, nukes and HVAS mechs. And many other temps. I guess the nukes aren't as broken as the devs think! -
I personally haven't been dropped with a mapserver from using it, but I have had it not work at all when I trigger the power, and the FOW still remains.
-
Quote:Sounds like my plan as well. I can't see running the CoP trial any more than once for the badge and thats it.Or you could save up four Incarnate Shards from drops. Personally, I'd just team a lot and get shards for any Penumbras I needed.
I ran it 4 times, first time was failed attempt, second time was completed on the red side, and the 3rd time was Blue side with a record time for us of 12 minutes 14 seconds. The final time was a failed attempt on a pug team.
Got my badge, no other reason to run it. if the reward was worth it, I may do it but since its not, nah. -
Quote:You hardly need nukes for a CoP anyway. They are a crutch. Virtue does nukeless CoP very often.
Just because one SG can do it without them doesn't mean that others can.
If they have to remove the ability to use them the CoP Trial, its telling me the problem is much larger then limiting them in the CoP. Sounds like the problem is with the nuke itself.
Besides not all SGs can get 24 players together, so the use of nukes help a little bit, so yes, it will hurt many groups out there who aren't considered power gamers. Or lack the debuffs because they only have so many people and can't fill the 3 teams. But I can understand removing the use of Nukes since the reward is so fantastic and great -
How about another badge title correction!
The Exploration badge Justice Avenger (Hero name) has the (Villain name) Socialite, which is also an Accolade badge.
It would be nice to have this corrected as well please. That way people will stop sending me thousands of emails asking why it's not verifying for them on the badge tracking sites.
Thanks -
Quote:i would still try to get it cause from the GR CB forums i believe it was mentioned that the CoP will award incarnate salvage whenever that stuff is out (i think most all of the lvl 45+ tf/sf/trials will award some sort of incarnate salvage)
Well considering you getr Zero rewards for defeating any mobs in the CoP, I can only guess your possibility to get salvage is upon the completion of the Trial for defeating AV.
Still not worth it, better off running 45+ TF/SF to earn that. -
Quote:Now for the big question: is the base item worth 100 runs of CoP?
Hell no....lol
The Scorpion Surprise is much better than the Improved Energy Beam.
Even the CoP temp power sucks, so I doubt I will even get it for the SG, not worth anything at all, and doesn't benefit the SG at all since base raids don't exist.
On a off subject, I would much rather the devs allow us to purchase IoPs for the base and pay upkeep for them. At least it would give us something to do with our prestige, because right now, prestige is worthless. -
Quote:Yep. both you and Snow are correct. And it does seem that the badge has been raised to 100 attempts. I had a person send me the badge screenshot and badge text.I've been farming for that SG badge. As long as you're in the instance when time runs out, you get credit toward the badge.
Badge text reads...
Your group has braved the Cathedral of Pain 100 times. While you were there, you unlocked the secret of the Improved Energy Beam. -
Quote:Yep, thats what I did. I messed around in the instance for about 10 minutes an then exited to the SG Base and waited, but no credit I will give it a shot while in the mission next time.Well one player tested it out in Beta: All you have to do is have one player in the group (sgmode or not) in the CoP instance when the timer runs out. This counts as an attempt for the badge. I didn't test it out personally due to the lack-luster reward.
I suspect when you failed that you left the instance and did other things while the timer expired.
Will report back once I find out -
Really, now this is new to me because I've ran a few where it was failed and we didn't get any credits at all. can you explain this a little bit if you don't mind please.
Quote:Actually Beef may very well be right. I was going by memory on the amount for that badge.
Quote:Well when you make two posts in this very thread implying that you'd think they'd actually raise the Rikti Plasma Turret badge from 5 defeats of Lanaru the Mad in SG mode to 100 (an increase by a factor of 20!) I have to question your complete understanding of the overall badging requirement trends in ths game. Also I was replying specifically to what you said about the CoP SG badge:
I questioned it, I never said for a fact it was raised. Read page 1, and
Quote:Which makes it pretty clear you thought you could still get multiple credit for this badge with each individual SG participant in any given CoP trial.
Considering that you and Snow Globe even disagreed about what the CoP SG badge started out as (10 or 20?) I think there's plenty of room for everyone to be both a little bit right and a little bit wrong about all this. I readily admitted I didn't even remember an original value for that badge because I never considered it a fully functional badge to begin with.
It's obvious you know a lot about badges in this game but just like me it's clear you don't know absoultely everything. *shrugs*
Again, assuming, mis-reading what I wrote....lol
I never said each person gets credit at the same time, I said...
the badge requirements are being shared throughout the group and not a single character
Which was clearly meaning that it is a SG badge and everyone works towards it's credit, in the justification that it was raised to 100. so please tell me why you think I meant something else, is there a subliminal messege in my text I don't know.....lol
I'd love to know where you got that sentence as me saying everyone still gets multiple credits at once. -
Quote:Actually I thought it was 20, thats what I had down for that badge when it was introduced. Either way, that was a old number and back then every character that completed it got credit toward the SG badge. Was 10, is now 100. Improved Energy Beam. Several group members on the same CoP run gets 1 collective credit (per run, not per character).
Now it has been increased to 100 and now only 1 person gets credit for it, which I think is horse ****.
Quote:The CoP SG badge does not work like the others. Your SG only gets credit for single run regardless of how many people in your SG are involved in any particular CoP Trial. This means at least one member of your SG will have to run 100 separate instances of the CoP trial for that badge. I think having to run a 100 CoP trials is astronomical enough for that badge already.
But as I said to Snow's quote, I too think its crap that only 1 member of the SG earns credit, if 5 people complete the same trial, it should count 5 credits not 1. The badge requirements are reflecting that of a single character and it should be reflected on the "SG"
I thought we were past all this ******** grinding for badges, I guess I was wrong. -
Plus, you have to consider this, the CoP Trial is relatively new to the game since its vague introduction back in issue 5.
So considering it's pretty much new and been changed, I wouldn't put it pass the devs to raise the requirements for this badge. It's a SG /VG badge and you can have up to 24 members run it at a time, so the change to 100 wouldn't be a huge surprise considering all the other badges are still pretty astronmical, which is fine since the badge requirements are being shared throughout the group and not a single character.
