    To all of you...

Thank you for all the work you've done managing this community and for the weekly dev chats, Zwillinger.

And sorry if I didn't say 'Hi!' that time you suddenly appeared out of nowhere on the Defiant server and surprised a team of fearless heroes on a Positron Task Force. It sort of caused me to crash out.
  4. Thank you for all you've done for City of Heroes, Black Pebble. And, for those of us watching the weekly dev chat on Ustream and Twitch, being a true inspiration to anyone who want to rule the world with a nerf gun of iron.
  5. Thank you for all the wonderful story arcs you've let us be a part of, Dr. Aeon.
  6. Thank you for everything you've done for City of Heroes, War Witch. And I'm glad you finally got your body back.

    Not Goodbye

Thank you for all your work on hunting down those pesky bugs, TheNet.
  8. Thank you for everything you've done for City of Heroes, Positron.
  9. Never having been too active on the forums, right now there's so much I want to say and so many people I'd like to say thank you to. However, I'm about to log on to the game as I intend to continue playing until the servers are shut down, and there are friends waiting and Rikti invaders to be pummeled. But as the forums may not be here for long I'll just say this in case they're already taken offline later tonight:

I first started playing City of Heroes at EU launch when a close friend of mine, Max aka. Baron Steel, invited me to join. This was shortly after my father had passed away from cancer, and the game and the friends I've met helped me wind down after a very stressful year and get some sense of normality back into my life.

City of Heroes/City of Villains has been a consolation in bad times and a absolute blast in good times. I could never have asked for a more enjoyable game or a better community, so thank you, developers past and present for your great work! And thank you to everyone I've met and teamed with!
  10. Happy Cake Day, Black Pebble!

It is true. I saw it on the History Channel.

  12. If you missed the first Hamidon Raid of 2012 on Defiant there will be another one tomorrow, Sunday.
  13. Just want to say thank you to @LSK for leading the first Hamidon Raid on Defiant in 2012 earlier this evening, and also to everyone else who turned up to make it a success!
  14. Had plans but ended up celebrating the new year halfway through a Lady Grey SF ... or was it an Imperious SF? My memory's a bit fuzzy at this point.

    Happy New Year!

    Flying East!

Thank you for having been a truly great community rep, Avatea, and best wishes for the future!
  17. Wasn't going to comment on the figher jets first seen inside the Warehouse in the Lambda Trial since they're, well, Praetorian, but then I remembered that they're now seen in the new Tutorial too, so should probably be considered as part of the Longbow/Vanguard/Primal Earth inventory.

As Model 75 wrote earlier in this thread the fighter jets do look a lot like the F-35 Lightning II, but with forward-swept wings seemingly inspired by the Sukhoi Su-47 technology demonstrator:

I nearly compared the wings to those of the Grumman X-29, but the wings on the Su-47 bear an even stronger resemblance to the in-game fighter jets.
  18. Oh, as others have already pointed out previously in this thread, the attack helicopers sometimes seen flying above Atlas Park and in some missions does indeed look very much like the AH-64 Apache helicopter, but with the tail rotor system being similar to that of the Gazelle helicoper, and the air intake/exhaust covers looking more like that of the AH-1 SuperCobra:

  19. The tanks used by Vanguard appears to based on the old Cold War era Soviet T-54/T-55 tanks, but with the engine deck layout, the track skirts, and the presence of return rollers being more like that of the non-export T-64 tank. Here's the T-55A:

  20. The helicoper used by both Longbow and Vanguard seems to be modeled after the Russian Mil Mi-26 transport helicoper:

The Underground Trial is a bit hit and miss at the moment as it's been bugged since the patch where they made Desdemona invincible to keep her from being defeated by the Avatar.

More than half the time when the Avatar fight starts she either disappears completely or runs off into some quiet corner of the map and becomes untargetable, and when that happens the league won't benefit from any of her buffs, making the Avatar fight much tougher than intended.

    Hi again

    Hi and welcome back!
  23. Desdemona's health never went below 79% as far as I remember, so we were all quite baffled when we didn't get the badge.
