That's a good point.
Even assuming defiance is working as intended (which it's not, I constantly have a persistent 10 on my defiance bar in Talos even if I'm at full health, screenshots have been posted before showing this), it's not a fun 'power'.
The blaster community, virtually as a whole has stood up and said they don't like it. The posts stating they do are more often than not placed to inspire further outbursts from the haters or someone who's experience is limited to the under 20 level range.
The bottom line is wether or not it's working, it's not fun and a great many (I won't say most since the forums hardly represents a large population of players) blasters who post here have made it clear the truly don't enjoy the power and find it pointless. So mechanics at that point is moot since people don't like the damn thing.

Safeguards need to be rebuilt to be more like Mayhem. If this was all said before please forgive but this just struck me and I wanted to post before I forgot.
Your contact needs to present it as such: "We've got word there's a large disturbance in <city zone> in one of the neighborhoods. In addition to the bank there are several other businesses in the area which could be potential targets. To be honest we're not sure what they're game is. We're going to erect an emergency forcefield in the area once you're in to try and contain them. We're also dispatching the PPD to the area but it will take them at least 15 minutes to scramble an assault team. Get in there and watch for any disturbances. Do what you can to hold them off until the PPD arrive. Who knows, maybe you'll get the situation under control and we won't even need to dispatch the PPD. Good luck!"
And change it so that the bank heist doesn't happen until at least 5 minutes into the mission and/or after at least one side mission is completed. After all, one of the ideas behind the side missions in mayhems is creating a diversion. Yet in safeguard they happen AFTER the bank is robbed. They should 'lure' us away from the bank allowing Arachnos to get in and get to work robbing it. Then THE BANK IS BEING ROBBED! should come up on screen so you can scramble to the bank to stop it.
After that your motivation to stick around is to try and do your job as a hero and help clean up the mess.
Also, eliminate the timer. There is no reason for it. Either you stop the bank robbery or you don't. The timer is there because it's the hero version of a mayhem, not because it makes sense. OR make it a straight 15 minute timer. No up, no down. After 15 minutes the PPD are scrambled, arrive and take control of the scene, which by rights is their job.
3 simple changes, one in the mission text (which will fit better conceptually and not make it feel like you're stopping the PPD from showing up by sticking around), one as far as timing in the mission (when the robbery actually occurs) and lastly eliminating the timer will make a huge difference in the feel of SafeGuard missions.
As far as the timer goes the best solution would be adding a timer to each sub-mission. If you don't get there and stop it in x amount of time the villains succeed. Beyond that or the 15 minutes to scramble timer, there's not reason to have one in a SafeGuard.
After all I can completely EMPTY (Mobs/destroyable objects) in mayhem missions with 30 minutes to spare. There's no reason for a main mission timer in safeguard missions.
I just hope the devs can see our points on some of these. -

More then likely, other plans are in the works too, possibly good or bad. Hopefully, not bad, as Castle did post some of his ideas here first and should they bad, the mobs will likely look to burn blasters at the stake first

No since there's no unlockable contacts with the exception of a couple TF members. Their requirements are easy, do the contacts in that zone (striga/croa) and get introduced to the contact from the last contact you get in the zone. -

I swear the game makers decided to piss off the people who use SJ just because it's such a cheap and easy travel power. I wanted SJ versus Fly because Fly will use end and thus after I get to a mish, it would likely take me even more time to "unpack." I really didn't think of my toon as a flier either. Come respec time though, I'll very likely be taking Fly instead. My mm is already lvl20 and by the time i7 hits my flight time won't be bad via SO enchants. Before I do my respec I may just see what a multi slotted SJ does for me though. Sometimes I'm so close that maybe just one SO will put me over.

Flights end usage is rather comical now compared to what it used to be. Since they changed it it's not hoggish at all anymore. -

Ok, new to CoV, but I love the concept of this build already. Still, let me ask a REALLY dumb yet (to me) important question:
When it's all said and done, can this build summon 3 zombies AND 2 knights AND 1 lich AND 1 dark servant? I mean, a full army? Nothing in the power descriptions contradicts this, but I want to make absolutely sure before I start down this road--because the idea of a dark villain commanding such an awesome army appeals to me greatly. Yes. /Dark comes with a pet. So you can have the hencheman from your primary in addition to the pet from your secondary. -

I sincerely hope that we will have acess to all titles as part of the Veterans Rewards. Since launch I've wanted to be The Adept Wu Shu Warrior, Natural Origin and have refused to reroll. To me saying he's an adept is the same way as saying he's a natural and since Adept is his actual hero name, it seriously bugs me that its not up there.

It figures I stopped looking at this thread just in time for Posi himself to pleasantly surprise us a few hours ago.
Anyway I'm happy to be proven wrong about it not costing any INF. Frankly that doesn't make much sense since everything else character-oriented does, but because the changes are limited to certain levels I imagine that'd be enough to keep people from going silly with this.
So I'll ask the obvious question... Does this mean we have ONE change opportunity at level 50 (usable whenever) or does that mean we can change it as many times as we want once a character is level 50?
If we only have one change available at 50 I think I'd rather be able to pay INF to change it whenever I want.
It'll be nice to actaully consider using titles for once - of course assuming that I have unlimited changes available at level 50 that is...

Yes, all the time and it's still not enough. I've been TP/killed to the top of the hospital because they damned duct-work makes the drones blind in some spots, and when LITERALLY 20 villains can sit 10' from the hospital door TP'ing people out there's a problem.

Don't need to when they can stand right outside the door. And I've *personally* never seen heros camping IN the villain base. In fact the only time I've seen anything close was when (before the changes to PA making them dronable) I solo'ed the villain base on an ill/kinetics using my PA to keep the drones busy while I kept the mobs confused and on each other and the villains. So that tells me camping the hero base is a lot easier than camping the villain base.

Also, per _Castle_ a level 50 in SC with a power slotted identical to a natural level 30 in SC is LESS effective because the lower you exemp the scaling tapers oddly so at 50, with a level 50 enhancement, exemped to 25, my enhancements aren't as good as a natural level 25.

What was your AT? And from AT to AT a power is NOT going to work the same. Healing Aura is not going to be good on one at as another, each at is supposed to be better at something than another and if you're trying to use a corruptor to compete with a blaster, you can't. Corrupters are about 75% equivalent of blaster damage. That has to do with AT, not enhancements. If you compared a level 30 ice blaster to a level 50 ice blaster with the power slotted the same the 30 WILL do more damage than the 50.

Because your sever sucks for PvP interest? I'm always asking the same question, yet from a hero's shoes. Maybe it's your server, or your play time. You act like your issues are universal when they aren't and in fact others are having the exact opposite to your problems.
Enhancements work as we posted, and you bringing a corrupter to a blaster fight and thinking you're going to outblast is like bringing a pistol to a bazooka fight. You're not going to do the raw damage the blaster is (higher BI on blaster) and you'll need to utilize your secondaries to win. Now, if you're referring to a Dominator that's even worse than trying to compare a corr to a blaster.
