  1. Whoops, I thought this was the right forum for this. =x In any case, I really appreciate the replies guys.

    Apologies if I wasn't clear enough on what I was looking at. I was specificially looking at the nVidia GeForce GTS-450. I believe it's the same card that Father Xmas referred to. My buddy linked me to this page: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814125342

    Also, yes, I'm running with an on-board graphics card that came with the computer when I bought it.

    So the ATI HD 5770 on average puts out better performance than the nVidia GTS 450 and is in the same price range? I'll have to check into that, thanks.

    I'll be happy even if I can't run all the Ultra Mode stuff maxed out. I would certainly like some nicer graphics than what I've got going on right now, but above all else I priorizite a smooth framerate. =)

  2. Hey there folks.

    I'm looking to upgrade my graphics card to run CoX's newer textures at a smoother framerate (those new warehouse maps slow my framerate to a crawl) as well as to run a few games that I'm simply unable to run currently. I'd like to be able to run fairly smooth with at least some of the more modest ultra mode options turned on if possible. I'm looking to spend no more than $150 on this.

    I should note that I really have no idea where to begin as I've never upgraded anything on a computer before. Thankfully, a friend of mine suggested a card to me after I told him my price range and I wanted to asj if anyone has any experience with the GeForce GTS 450? My understanding is that I have a PCI-E 2.0 slot so I should be good with this card.

    I haven't messed with the computer, so all of those out-of-box specs should apply.

  3. Very interesting. Thanks Iggy! I'm not sure I want to give up hasten, but I'm also not committed to it just yet. I'll see how the character plays with and without before I decide. The level of hp/regen you squeezed out there is definitely a substantial upgrade. Also, I felt that my accuracy might be hurting on higher level foes so Tactics seems like a good choice. I'll definitely keep these tips in mind!

    Any further input would be greatly appreciated.

    The updater "fixed" my files after a bit and now I'm able to get back in. Have those locked out tried shutting the game down and checking the update client?

So I've been toying with a brute that I'd want to take on as a long-term project for quite some time with only mild success at best, but I've finally rolled one that I think I want to stick with for the long haul. I started up a WM/WP brute and with some help from older forum posts put together an ideal build. This is a long-term character project, so cash concerns aren't a factor.

    S/L and E/N defense values are just over the soft-cap with the secondary focus being to raise max HP. I'm thinking of going down the Spiritual Alpha slot tree both for the recharge and boost to HP/regen. My biggest uncertainty is endurance. Any thoughts as to whether my endurance would hold up with this current build? Of course, advise or tweaks of any kind are very much appreciated. I have very little hands-on experience with both WM and WP.

    The client is now 'fixing files' after I've fired it up, so while annoying, at least it seems that they're aware of and hopefully have fixed the issue.

    Well, I can at least verify that you're not the only one with this problem. I'm getting the same thing. I login, choose any server, and then get a message that it cannot contact the server.

    I have no idea what the problem is, but it's not only you.

I have little to really add to the conversation here, but I have to say that Issue 14 sounds breathtakingly awesome. =D Based on all the info we've accumulated over the past day, I can pretty safely say that Architect is everything I'd hoped it'd be and then some. For example, chainable events? I'd hoped, but I didn't think it was a realistic launch expectation.

    Bravo, devs! I was something of a critic of I13, but I14 has certainly pressed my awesome button! =P

  14. It seems that Steven Sheridan's arc "The Organ Grinders" in the 35 - 39 range is still busted on test just as it is on live through Ouroboros. Or it is for me, anyway. Can anyone else confirm this? I accept the arc, complete the first mission, return to Sheridan, and he treats me as though I have too many missions in my inventory. Obviously, that isn't even possible since it's a Flashback TF. I petitioned this awhile back and was told that the dev team had been informed about it, but it seems there's been no progress.
  15. Most of the content I felt was quite ho-hum, but I loved the last mission of "The Magic Man" story arc. Very interesting way to handle the situation, and the final battle had a uniquely epic feel because of its originality.

    Issue 13 Update

    Many thanks for the update, Positron. Even if it isn't the news we were hoping for, it's nice to feel we're being kept in the loop.

    So long as the mission architect system is done right, the wait should be well worth it (at least to me =P). Hopefully they're using this time to get us some customization for bosses and factions in appearance and/or powers. That's the "maybe" that I want far more than anything else.
