  1. QR: The idea that beads on a tank top turn it into anything other than a tank top is frankly ludicrous, and any amount of "but its true cause I say so" does not change the fact of the matter, it merely makes the person trying to mandate their opinion into reality for all look less than intelligent.

Sorry. If I make a dress out of denim, does it cease to be a dress and suddenly become blue jeans? Be serious. Form determines classification, not materials. Are sport bras not bras? They don't have lace or satin on them, therefore HOW can they be a bra?!! *massive eyeroll* use some logic for once.

Yes, the word on the street is that the Distinguished Competition is about to go ftp. And that's really all I know, other than that their forums are a-buzz about it. I'm not paying all that much attention because free or not, I STILL can't figure out a way to beat that guy from another planet's sister [or whatever she is] with the game locking the door behind me and throwable/interruptible barrels standing in for inspirations. So ftp will do me no good.

They say it will happen in less than a month. And yes, the outdoors environments are really something to see, esp the beginner's zone; but I like it all gothic anyways. Indoors looks pretty darn good too; too bad their you-are-here-type maps are sub-par.

Wish there were a way to take the great in that game and the great in this one, and merge 'em. As for that other game that starts with the third letter in the alphabet, I have no idea if its ftp or not. I simply could not log out of that one fast enough the one time I tried it, and never had an urge to go back.
  3. ...Exactly how much grinding are we talking, here? Because I already feel that I am doing enough grinding unlocking these slots, in fact more than enough; and no one I have talked to in-game feels any differently.

I think CoX characters are more beautiful than theirs, no two ways about it. The run their characters use is simply far beyond ugly.

With that said, comparing CoX outdoor landscapes - even Praetoria - to the aforementioned ones is like saying that the Hope Diamond and a five-cent ring out of a gumball machine are equivalent in beauty. Ok, if you say so. But unfortunately the Hope isn't the synonym for CoX outdoors, if you get my drift.

Yes, the comparison between the two is that extreme.
  5. Yes I would pay for an Incarnate pack. Yes, the pieces are a bit over the top, but I'll do like I always do and piece them out here and there amongst my various characters of appropriate level.

There is no costume set in this entire game that makes one person more special than another. Gating this content behind some TF or series of TFs will not change that, any more than gating the Roman pieces behind a successful ITF made them more "special." Fifty zillion people have access to the Roman armor, and you know what? I still like it just fine.

So the drippy trail aura was a delight.

But when you see the heavy bleeding in action and the three points of emanation--not just the path it leaves behind, it's rather hard IMO for any adult with an informed knowledge of human biology to not "go there" even if momentarily.

To top it all off, this long existing villain of mine for whom the blood trail application seems made, is called Bloodlust.

    I know.
I have a character for whom a blood-trail would be very appropriate as well. However on test I quickly saw that the aura in question was disgustingly similar to a trail of menstrual blood when colored red. Needless to say the alt in question isn't wearing that aura. Not least because he's male.... I think that the aura appearing to flow directly from the crotch area is unattractive, no matter what color the aura is. I dont want an aura that even remotely reminds me of certain bodily fluids or.... well. You get my drift. I think a flow from the wrists, elbows and knees only, with footprint-trail included would have solved the problem nicely without getting all biological about it.
  7. How would I feel if one in ten mishes were unplayable? I'd feel about like I do about the Distinguished Competition's game, which is eye-blindingly beautiful yet kept throwing up mishes that I found impossible to complete!

Since that game is about to go free-to-play, I am guessing a lot of people felt the same way about it. Sorry to derail the thread, back to more fussing about the Mission Architect.

I suspect it did well, i think there are a hardcore clot of cosutme nuts like myslef that will dutifully shell out every time there are costume things in the pack, and this one was really really good, so id suspect it did well with the usual suspects...once they could log into their accounts, grumble grumble.
I get the opposite feeling re the beast pack; I see very few people using it. Also, this is the only pack where they stuck NPCs wearing the pieces in Pocket D, as if to say "Look....!"

I'm on Guardian and we have a well-known Tank on the server who has Tiger heads [his toon looks very nice too]. He is the only one I can remember seeing regularly wearing pieces from this pack! Sad. Also play on Virtue and dont see it much over there, even.

This pack is the only one I never bought. I even bought the Party Pack when it was on sale once, because my female alts wanted the dance emotes.

that said, I am enjoying the Steampunk pack a lot and am looking forward to whatever we get next.

  10. Oh my, Sam. She's really elegant. She looks great. That's one of my favorite faces.

As for me, I bought this pack basically for one character - much as I bought Mutant for one character - and the one character's really having a blast with it. And not unlike Mutant, bits and pieces of it will go here and there amongst my stable of alts... but even if I just used it on the one, its worth it.
  11. ...Wow, my saying a particular sentence or two sounds like Incarnate Armor makes me a "liar"? Or makes me the equivalent of some moron holding forth about the End Being Near on a certain date?

You need some help. And you need to get out of that flaming Angry Chair, or both, or not respond to my posts, whichever combo of these options works for you.
  12. ... Wow, someone needs to get out of the Angry Chair.

This sounds like Incarnate armor to me.... but that's just me.

I do, at least the female ones. We finally have someone wearing some decent red lipstick. This matters because although we can sort of apply it now, in order to fit all the female face models the edges are blurry and indistinct; you have a red blot that only covers part of the total area.

This is why I have yet to use the female organic face; makeup looks stupid on the lips that face has.

I really hate those ice shields worse than SB, esp. since everyone seems to be coloring them pink now.

I am not sure why everyone is assuming that we're going to be talking to an actual *bird*. Is Ghost Falcon in Peregrine an actual bird? I doubt it.

  18. I dont know if that's Jade Spider or not, I've heard so much horrible stuff about that fight I have never completed that arc.

We need to see that thing more often though Nothing says "science fiction" more loudly than giant spiders, I tell you!

stll trying to wrap my brain around how a police car got to the Insp vendor in Pocket D to ask for donuts. 1. A car got up those narrow stairs? woot and 2. I didn't know bars sold donuts. I miss everything!

Shh don't tell anyone, but I would do a lot more than go talk to an NPC to avoid this problem. I would fight Trapdoor, Ebil Honoree and that Vanguard punk Honoree pals around with in the Incarnate arc all at once, to turn that **** off.

Take a jaunt to turn that off? Hell, I'd Walk from under the Atlas statue to the far end of the Storm Palace WITH NO JETPACK to turn it off. I'm down with it, no complaints here. Thanks Devs.
  20. EPIC.

Would like to see this used as GM. Nothing is more epic than a Giant Spider Invasion.

I would like to see Arachnos Invasions in Paragon; this thing could fill in for Ukon 'Grai and Bane Spiders could jump out of Fliers right in front of the Atlas statue. I'd pay a dollar to see that.... plus admit it, if youve been here longer than 6 mo you are probably tired of Rikti Invasions.
  21. I have a related question: I have been told by many people that one can convert salvage you get from Incarnate trials to Shards. Now I see where one can convert Threads to Shards, but not the other way around?

Am I just not seeing something, or are these people mistaken?

I know Shards are a bit out of fashion, but I have several people with Incarnate unlocked who have almost no shards, and cant slot their Alpha even at tier 1.
  22. Intentional unkindness is most always spiteful.

Same effort [or more!] put into a task, the other person gets the reward and you don't? Spiteful.

Grind for days, weeks or months, other person[s] gets all the rares and you don't? Intentionally unkind = spiteful.

I have several people with rares, just sayin'.
  23. Right now this problem is being spiteful to people who are not lucky.
  24. Lottery, or a lot of time grinding. Pick one. Because having the top-crust stuff be both is unfair to the people who ground with you through trial after trial, but you got three Rares a day and they didnt. Sorry. Argue all day about how you view it as fair, I'll never see it as fair.

    Lottery OR grind. Not both.
  25. 1. Delighted to see some new, FREE! costume pieces. I'm a little worried that we have to unlock everything there is to unlock, Incarnate-wise to get them...? Am I reading that right? If that's the case I am going to be sad and frustrated, because once I get Judgment and Lore unlocked, I back off of that for the moment.

    2. Auras, nice but not anything that rocks my personal world.... more costume stuff is always good tho.

    3. AoE Speed Boost? How many ways can we say, "un-fun."

    4. Carnie and Arachnos pets? Righteous. thank goodness not everyone over here has Lore unlocked yet. Happy.

    5. Skipping that #$%@ing cut scene? Righteous.
