So basically if they change the pre-requisites for getting the badge any progress into the badge as it was is lost?? That's harsh - surely there must be a way round it???
-
Lol
If you can't stand the HEAT - get out of the Kheldian...
-
Best add my most recents too:
Corporeal Punishment (AR/Dev Blaster)
Valentine-Phoenix (Emp/Red Defender)
Peakey-Phoenix (Fire/Kin Troller) -
I don't see what trademark issues would crop up if all you could do with a created character was import it into CoH - if it infringed any tradermarks the GMs would soon boot it
-
Yeah I want the whole shebang
would pass time at work so much faster!!!
-
Lol that's awesome - next time I go to Egypt I will sit on the beach building heroes
-
I opted for Ghost Widow too. I was so tempted to have a Mu pet but GW pool powers suited the stealthy ninja character and yeah I wanted a pet Night Widow too lol
-
Assassins Strike
Rise of the Phoenix
Greater Fire Sword
Golden Dragonfly
Placate
Sniper Rifle
Fire Imps -
Whilst sadly sitting at my desk working this weekend (well - more listening to iTunes and twiddling thumbs) I started pining for CoH. Unfortunately my laptop is not graphically equipped for playing COH, and I strongly suspect there will be limits on the LAN giving access to game servers! Then I started wondering about the feasibility of an Offline Hero Creator. I would be able to sit at work designing heroes/villains then when i get home Import them into CoH.
I cannot see if being that technically difficult to be able to create a hero externally and import. Granted I cannot see it ever being implemented as the vast majority of people build their characters whilst online - but I wanted NCNC to build it just for me -
I cannot compare either at high level as I found the HEATs very much of a 'Meh' to play and did not enjoy the levelling journey at all. I am hoping the VEATs will better suit my play style when I eventually get Harlequin to 50. I suspect the HEATs require a little more finesse and thought to be fully enjoyed and I definitely more suit the 'Smack it and See' style of AT!
-
Yeah i noticed that! Thanks for help guys - have battled to the last mission - just Numina to get at some point tomorrow hopefully
-
Well, time has passed inexorably and with its passing Harlequin-Phoenix has reached the dizzy heights of 40.5. (The length of time it takes to get a bar of XP makes the .5 important
) As such thoughts turn to Patron Powers and how to obtain them. Thus far I know it is a mission/series of missions obtained from a contact in Grandville, however what I am after finding out is:
1. How long do they take to complete?
2. Are they soloable for a Stalker?
3. Is one patron power pool better than others or are they fairly equal? (i was considering the Mu pool.)
Any assistance would be gratefully received as always
Thanks

Thanks shannon for an invaluable insight into the workings and uses of taunt. It is a power i had hitherto never ocnsidered useful but having you show me and point out how to use it well is very much appreciated! Sorry I had to dash off (perils of being on call
) but I will most definitely be sampling Taunt on Golden to see how I fare with it!
-
Lol Max you and I must play in different circles
-
I cannot believe this is still going on - and I know how long threads can pan out! Basically it boils down to (regardless of numbers):
Some tanks have taunt
Some tanks don't have taunt.
Tanks without taunt aren't necessarily 'Anti-Taunt' they just have better things to do with their powerslots or dont feel it fits with the build. I dont have taunt on my Fire/Fire tank but I will be taking it on my Stone/Fire as Stone defence withstands mass aggro!
Tanking can be done perfectly well without Taunt and players should not be penalised for not taking a power they do not find useful. In a game with the freedom of choice that CoH offers I find it shameful that team leaders are refusing to take on members who do not have the desired powersets.
I remeber when (jeez i sound like my grandad) a PuG was simply a team of randomly invited individuals with no pre-conceived ideas about 'what powersets do we need'. We all got together and surprisingly enough with no pre-meditation on team selection we did more often than not survive. Sure - occasionally you wuold sometimes feel like you were carrying a player to a degree whos powers you personally didnt feel that useful, but nobody cared as everyone was there to enjoy the ride. The game used to be about fun - after all it IS a game. Somewhere along the issues a lot of people seem to have lost sight of that all important fact and suddenly the game has a worring amount of seriousness about it. As has been mentioned in other threads - debt it no longer a major issue so why now does dying because the tanker doesnt have taunt seem to be such a big problem.
Even on big TF's (LGTF etc) if the tank doesnt have taunt it may well be a tadge harder to complete but if the team pulls together and works hard then it can be done.
Anyway, rant over - cant believe i typed so much - perils of having a beer in the afternoon! -
I must agree with Shannon - I love to use RotP to keep control of mobs. If I die, an immediate RotP *usually* hits most of the mob that killed me and regains their attention whilst giving me time to reactivate shields as I rez. The disorient it causes also makes life easy for getting a few swift attacks in too!
-
Havent a clue tbh - I never got into PVP and so have no knowledge of how to buil;d for it! I just like snipe on my AR blaster
-
Blasters snipe should be helpful surely with a damn fine range?
-
I have never used this power successfully - as simple as it may be I never can get the hang of it. I use it and run, still get attacked. I use it and stand still, still get attacked. Finally I use it, placate, and still get attacked! I migfht as well drop the sodding thing!!! lol
-
Why are phishing attempts always plagued by bad spelling/grammer??? I have seen them about Ebay, Paypal, CoX and Autotrader and they never fail to be horrendously spelt. Do phishermen not use spellcheckers?????
-
I used to prefer SoM but lately I have started taking the Axe for thr troublesome wee beasties that are CoT Spectres. Also on my Fire/Fire scrapper using Scorch then Axe gives me a lovely flaming axe to hit things with
-
Sadly I didnt get to spend a lot of time on over the weekend but in the 2 hours I was on I got my Stalker from 32-37.5
It was a happy occasion!!! -
I didnt take tank on m Fire/Fire tank for two reasons - Fire Aura is not the strongest defence and so being surrounded by large amounts of mobs *can* be asking for trouble. Also Blazing Aura, Combustion and Fire Sword Circle geat and hold aggro pretty well
I am currently levelling a Stone/Fire tank who will be getting Taunt though as I have no Auras to keep aggro and hopefully Stone is defensible enough to withstand large mobs! -
