Not going to go through your whole build. But the two things that jump out at me were:
- Doctored Wounds is typically the Healing set that is used for click type heal powers due to the high recharge numbers
- Not sure how useful the Sniper power would be for a stalker... -
Not sure if the 47 and 49 powers are really necessary...or if i need only one or the other
-
Here is my build. It looks like I get ~4.5% from Stealth/Hide regardless (I get 3.75% at lvl 28 without enhancements_

The leaping pool also gives you a small bonus to defense (Combat Jumping) that can help you to get to the soft capped numbers.
-
Another question:
I see neither of you took Touch of Fear in your builds. Was this intentional? I was going to ask if you guys went for the Fear component or the -To Hit component. The Accurate To Hit Debuff set gives you a nice bonuse if you 6 slot.
Based on my build I think Im at 42%+ to all positions at this point and that does not factor in the -To Hit Dark does in general. I can post later on... -
I dont have a question about either of your builds, but a question about DM/Nin in general. I'm running into a situation where I only have 2 attacks: Smite, Siphon Life (plus two veteran attacks) until lvl 38.
Do you guys take more attacks and respec after lvl 38? Is this common on all Stalkers? It makes leveling a bit of a chore. -
Can anyone let me know what they best DB attach chain is (assuming you can get high enough recharge)???
-
I think the whole "its not the destination it is the journey" argument is pretty stale to the people who don't feel their level 50 content is enough to keep them interested.
Now that someone has the ability to do all the content once they hit level 50...if you still are interested in the content I am pretty sure they would be just as uninterested in it if they were level 25 and completing the content.
Some people like to play the game and experience a sense of progress and see how new powers work. Others enjoy the story driven nature of the game. The former simply won't stick around as long as the latter...they have different wants. -
Quote:Perhaps the terminology IS the problem and thus the disconnect. Most of us just want some contacts and/or a TF added as opposed to redesigning the terrain. Especially since some places like Dark Astoria are perfectly fine as they currently are other than being empty.
Agreed! It'd be fun to go to DA for something more than farming BP... -
Well Ive got a happy update. Once I started in safe mode I was able to swtich the options to "Windowed Mode" and am now not having any problems. Looks like we found a work around. Thanks to everyone for their help.
-
Safe Mode actually did work albeit with very poor graphics...
-
Here is my HiJack This report...I will try to run it in Safe Mode and respond with results. Thanks for everyone's help on this:

Well crap...none of those drivers are working either. Is there any chance this will get fixed on COH's side??
-
I recently bought a new lap top and was looking forward to jumping into playing some COH. However, when I attempt to play COH the entire screen goes black. In another thread there was a suggestion that I might have a driver that doesn't support COH. I have went the NVIDA site and having a really difficult time getting new dirvers to load.
I can download a driver (there is an update recommended to me) but when i get to the install screen it says it does not support. Another member here suggested I actually use an older driver (185.5) and I was able to download it and tried to install.
However, I still get this message:
Setup detected that the operating system in use is not Windows 7 (32bit). This setup program and the drivers are designed to only work on Windows 7 (32bit). The installation will be terminated
I have Windows 7...when I go to my Nvidia controll pannel it says as much:
Display:
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU T6600 @ 2.20GHz (2200 MHz)
Operating System: Windows 7 Home Premium, 32-bit
DirectX version: 10.0
GPU processor: GeForce 8200M G
Driver version: 186.14
Stream processors: 8
Core clock: 400 MHz

System video memory: 64 MB
Shared system memory: 1343 MB
Video BIOS version: 62.79.4A.00.00

So...what do I need to do to get my COH running on my new computer? Or, am I just out of luck? -
Was wondering if anyone had a suggestion on how to ensure the driver I downloaded is the one that is being used? I downloaded the old one as Father Xmas suggested...but its still showing Im using the one that doesn't work with COH.
-
OK...i downloaded the old one (the beta one game me the same error message as before)...when I run the COH thing it gives me the same output:

Im sure there is some step that Im supposed to follow to make the old driver the primary driver. Any help would be wonderful. As you can see Im not that much of a "techy" -
Ya when I download that the install wizard comes up and I get an error message saying:
The NVIDIA Setup program could not locate any drivers that are compatible with your current hardware. Setup will now exit.
Any tips on how to get around this. When I run the driver it says that its already installed on my computer to so I say yes to overwrite it all. -
Im getting the same problem. I tried to download the current driver but I keep getting an error message during the instal saying that I dont have a Windows 7 32 bit program installed.

Perhaps there will be some sort of money sink for "Going Rogue"...
I would agree that there is too much money in the system. On the other hand, (much like America?) it is in the hands of a relative few. So, it would be difficult to work down their totals without hurting the ones without any Influence. -
One thing (when I was in an absolute pinch) I found to be easier then then buying recipes was buying high lvl SOs on the Market. You can buy a full tray for around $10k and sell for $200k.
These days that just chump change...but its a quick way to actually create your seed money. -

AFT - Another Farming Thread.
And by that I mean - You can't eliminate it in game, you can't stop the threads here.
It's in every MMO.
Let's just keep things as is and admit it's okay. The broadcast spam has stopped. The hype is over. It's fine. Get to 50 in 4 hours. Besides the anti farming stance, there's nothing to stop it besides gutting the game and making it City of Heroes: Level 10 Forever!!!
[/ QUOTE ]
Oh, yeah. It's fine. No problem with new players getting the impression that this is what the game is all about. No biggie when they get to 50, can't properly play their characters and find out there's not much to do except more farming to grind your way to those purples. No problem at all when they leave 3 months later for another game because their experience of this game was skewed by PLers. Yeah, that's no big deal at all. Let everybody do whatever they want because they're going to find a way to do it anyway.
I hope you sensed the sarcasm there because I was laying it on pretty thick.
[/ QUOTE ]
Hmmm, nice sarcasm I guess. Does an illogical argument still get the positive benefit of being really sarcastic? Isn't it pretty reasonable that the same people who can't stand to play the game till lvl 50 without getting PL are probably also the ones who wouldn't stick around for more than three months if PL'ing didn't exist?
Personally...I don't really get PL'ing. Most of my 50s collect dust so getting to 50 so quickly defeats the purpose. But, if there are others that enjoy playing that way then more power to them. The idea that it somehow has a signfnicant impact on the enjoyment of the game is sort of amusing. I haven't had any enjoyment differences over the last two months...anyone else? -
One area I have trouble with when reading these posts is if people who say "casual gamer" are only talking about how much you've played or if you are including how long they've played and/or how much experience they have with the game.
I convinced my friend to come back to the game after leaving around I3...I will flat out say that tying to explain to him how the Market worked got a huge blank stare from him. This was after I tried to explain it to him IN GAME, which is more or less pointless.
Anyways...I think we can all agree that if you just sell your stuff at WW you will end up with way more money then you ever had pre-I9. But, understanding how IOs work and how Set Recipes work without doing pretty decent research on the Internet.
What is even worse is that without doing that research...you not only are making it harder on your character, but you also don't know what recipes are valuable and which ones are not. At lvl 40 you could get a Decimation Acc/Dam and a Detonation Acc/Dam and if you got the Detonation first you'd probably assume the Decimation wasn't worth all that much and just vendor the item.
So..in the end...we all know that WW can give you tons of influence...the big question is helping the "casual" or "new" gamer really understand how it works so they can make that money.
Of course, once that happens it'd make it much harder for people trying to flip things. I will say that to this day the single biggest thing that amazes me is how much more money people spend on crafted enhancements then recipes. How I can take a recipe worth $10k and sell it for $3M just amazes me. -
When they say expansion they mean this one is actually gonna cost money, right? Nice of them to send an email with a bunch of links that don't work.

I honestly think what they're trying to do is cater to people who enjoy grinding. Most people who are good at the "market-game" know that if you play the game normally, you'll get influence, and you can exchange that influence for goods on the market at a relatively fair price... but there are certain people that just flat out want the game to give them what they want after X amount of time.

- I guess I just question if the people "want to get what the want" understand that this will probably make it even more difficult to create those great "uber" builds.
