Ok few things I saw.

Why the five slot of Gift of Ancient? The bonus (mez res of 2.2 is negligable)

Are you actually a vet high enough to be able to take SJ or SS without taking the pre-req. Your forum join date makes me think not, but it's possible. (60 Month vet award) http://paragonwiki.com/wiki/City_Traveler

Kuji-In Sha looks VERY sparsely slotted.

Tough looks over slotted. Placate is put very late into the build. I personally don't see the need to have Smite and Shadow Punch. But you can take it I guess do you really use Caltrops? (I know I don't... Could be used for stalker hunting in Warburg I guess). Build Up is taken kinda late. I would slot a heal or two in Siphon Life.

I do not in any way think this is the best build. But I think it's fair. Any criticize would be welcome. Also, if any one can find a build that is soft capped AND has enough recharge to do the Smite-> MG -> Smite -> SL chain I would virtually hug.



Your character does not have capped defense. Depending on your AT the cap is between 175% - 225%. Your defense is not teal in the combat window, it can go higher. STOP SAYING IT IS CAPPED! The correct term is Soft Cap.
I enjoy playing in Mids. I specialize in Melee Characters, other AT's usually bore me.

As for 60 months, just got it last weekend, just not much of a forums talker. I don't really like the patron pools, so i mostly skip them. With my scrapper I realy use build up, and Starr-Knight is my IOed out AV killer, have it but barely use it. Since I built for reacharge, I took smite to fill in any gaps in my attack chain. Having a self heal, I figured slotting SL for damage was a better idea, that and its part of my attack chain.And Gift of The Ancients was not very expensive on blue side, and i want this toon to move fast. And with tough I was trying for the end reduction and figured to grab set bonuses over straight IOs.
I think I answered all your questions, I hope that helps you see where I was going. Looking for a pve, fast and deadly toon that can survive.

I added sharks just in case you wanted to PvP at all. (I know I never plan to PvP on most of my toon, but I do do a little kickball every once and a while.)

Use Build Up.... >.> Also, do you not use placate?

You do have a self heal, but it's not heavily slotted. The difference in your slotting and mine is:

For slotting one more slot. You gain 3% more heal. About 7 more seconds of recharge and about 2 less endurance to use it. Also you get 5% recharge bonus with Doctored Wounds. You do however lose out on that 1.5% recov.

You are right about the Siphon Life. It does about 30 more dmg. I just feel safer knowing it heals me 15% instead of 10%.

Your extra slot with Gift of the Ancient gives you an extra .3% defense and 2.2% Hold resistance. Is it worth it? I doubt it.

Your slotting for tough offers .07% more end reduction, Hold resistance, stun resistance, sleep resistance, 18.1 HP. Mine costs .07% more end, grants 5% runspeed and 1.56% AoE defense. Yes, your slotting gives more end reduction, and more bonuses. But it gives you 3 out of 4 crappy bonuses. Mine gives 2 out of 2 good bonuses. (And didn't you want your toon to be fast anyhow? Why not pick up the 5% runspeed bonus).

I moved things a bit, made a few small changes. Faster now. Can't get the 5%recharge from doctered wounds, already have 5 of the 5% recharge. Had to put off fitness, unless you think I can get away with no travel power till later. Not ascomfertable with no travel power, or late travel power on red side.

The only other change I can think of is removing 1 of the recharges from placate and adding kismet +to hit to hide.

One other thing to mention is, you are not softcapped.

Mid's totals show the unsuppressed Hide value. Hide only gives about 3%. So you are running at around 40% melee, ranged and 33% AoE

Edit: I wish the Titan network would do something to fix that. Not completely sure if its broken by programming standards (cause I don't know how it works inside the program) but from a user's perspective, it isn't helpful to see the unsuppressed hide value (same for stealth, invis, grant invis) cause when you need the defense.... the number is half it's displayed value.



Your character does not have capped defense. Depending on your AT the cap is between 175% - 225%. Your defense is not teal in the combat window, it can go higher. STOP SAYING IT IS CAPPED! The correct term is Soft Cap.
I enjoy playing in Mids. I specialize in Melee Characters, other AT's usually bore me.

I dont have a question about either of your builds, but a question about DM/Nin in general. I'm running into a situation where I only have 2 attacks: Smite, Siphon Life (plus two veteran attacks) until lvl 38.

Do you guys take more attacks and respec after lvl 38? Is this common on all Stalkers? It makes leveling a bit of a chore.

Speaking from my own experience, I took Smite, Assassin's Eclipse, Shadow Maul and Siphon Life by level 22. I had to take my travel power late and leave Build Up till near to 30 to squeeze them all in, but i'd rather have attacks ready when I need them. Having to wait till the late 30s to get your attacks into your build sounds like an exercise in frustration to me.

I'm going for the attack chain of MG,SP,SL,SP. I'm working on build number 5.Its difficult to juggle everyhing you want because you want everything.

Smite -> SL -> Smite -> MG is the best Single target dmg that DM can do... and it's enough to solo AVs. If you have enough recharge to get SP -> MG -> SP -> SL then you have the recharge for Smite -> Sl -> Smite -> MG.

As for a leveling build I picked up Smite, Shadow Maul, And Veterans powers. Plus Siphon Life and AS. I waited until after stam to get Danger sense. I didn't use my toggles before stam because of the end problems. Ninja run was fast enough for me, and I think I will just keep it and not get a travel power.

Also, to comment on your build, Katt.

I like it. I really do. I think you will too. It should be a beast. Just one small tweak you might want to think of doing is use Blessing of the Zephyr in SS and SJ can get 8 more points of KB prot. Nemesis's Staff does something like mag 10 KB I believe. That will allow you to get 5% more recharge bonus from Crushing Impact.

Also, a mistake that many people IOing their first toon is that they get all level 50 IOs. This is not normally a problem, but if you ever do an SF or some PvP, It's a pain to not have your bonuses. =( I prefer to slot level 30's. You don't lose any performance thanks to ED and it makes it so that Exemping is easier on you (even if you don't plan on it, it happens.)

Are you trying for a max recharge build? If so I think you are right on the money. I looked at it and couldn't find a way to really tweak it with out loosing more AOE def and didn't think that was a good idea. I wish they had purple sets that helped def, we would both be happier.

The confuse purple set does give a 5% defense to range on the 6th bonus. Can put that in Blinding Powder... I just couldn't fit that into my build.

My attack chain will be Sp->SL->Sp->Smite->MG. I should be able to keep that up for a bit, and no noticable gaps. Right now you still have a small gap between SL and Smite, about .16 seconds, you might not notice it. I'll use vet powers to fill holes till I get my build to this point. All in all I believe we both have very good builds to work towards, but mines cheaper, lol.

You probably won't notice it, we have both come up with effective builds for our play styles. Now I have to work on my roommates builds, a blaster and 2 scrappers. Another question:

I see neither of you took Touch of Fear in your builds. Was this intentional? I was going to ask if you guys went for the Fear component or the -To Hit component. The Accurate To Hit Debuff set gives you a nice bonuse if you 6 slot.

Based on my build I think Im at 42%+ to all positions at this point and that does not factor in the -To Hit Dark does in general. I can post later on...

42% with or without hide on, and the -To Hit is not very helpful when soloing AVs. A level 50 AV has 87.something% resistance to -To Hit.

I have used ToF before, on my scrapper, and really liked it, except I would rather have a dmg power instead. If you can fit it in your build, I would suggest a fear set. As you can see Pine and I have been throwing ideas back and fourth. I wonder how my build would handle AV's? Anyway, to repeat pines question, was your defense with or without hide?
