NIVDA Drivers Not Working Causing Me To Not Be Able to Play the Game
Judging by your processor, a Core 2 Duo T6600, you have a laptop. This is your problem. Laptop manufacturers like to have full control over their laptops (that'd be Dell, Acer, HP, Sony, whoever made yours) so they deny regular nVidia drivers from installing.
But you aren't finished yet!
Naturally, you aren't the only one with an nVidia laptop who wants to play games. Go to LaptopVideo2Go to get drivers that will work on your PC.
In reality, all nVidia drivers will work with any GeForce. But every driver has a list of supported cards. If your card ain't on the list, it ain't installing; laptop cards are never on the list. But it's dead simple to add your card to this list, and this is what LaptopVideo2Go do.

Ok, in all seriousness, the problem with the driver install is simple. You have a 64 bit Windows 7 operating system and were trying to load 32 bit drivers. 32 bit drivers will not load on a 64 bit system usually.
The listing you show says a 32 bit operating system, but it sounds like it really is 64 bit. Also, what you would want to get is the Vista, not XP drivers. Vista drivers are going to be closer to Win7 drivers, since Win7 is built off Vista technology.
I would seriously go into the system properties and see which OS you really have (32 or 64 bit) to start and make sure you have the right driver downloaded.

Well crap...none of those drivers are working either. Is there any chance this will get fixed on COH's side??
According to his CoH Helper report he is running 32-bit Windows 7 Home Premium.
His graphics are identified as 8200M G. The drivers are dated 6/6/09, version 8.15.11.8614 aka 186.14. We all, the tech gurus here, should remember the problems that the 186 drivers had with the game (actually I forgot but remembered after someone pointed it out).
The latest WHQL 32-bit Windows 7 driver for the 8200M according to nVidia's site is 186.81 dated August 27th. There hasn't been anything newer. The previous version was 185.85 dated May 7th, 2009. The latest beta version is 195.55 dated November 17th.
I have no idea why those driver packages won't install. Any insight would be appreciated.
No, NCSoft/Paragon isn't going to "fix the game" when a specific version of a 3rd party driver breaks it.
And BLYKMYK, please post your HiJack This report so we can discount any skinning program you might not be aware of. Also have you tried running the game in "Safe Mode" (check box on 2nd page of updater)?

Safe Mode actually did work albeit with very poor graphics...
Well Ive got a happy update. Once I started in safe mode I was able to swtich the options to "Windowed Mode" and am now not having any problems. Looks like we found a work around. Thanks to everyone for their help.
OK, so it's the old "works in window mode" fix. Cool. Enjoy.

I recently bought a new lap top and was looking forward to jumping into playing some COH. However, when I attempt to play COH the entire screen goes black. In another thread there was a suggestion that I might have a driver that doesn't support COH. I have went the NVIDA site and having a really difficult time getting new dirvers to load.
I can download a driver (there is an update recommended to me) but when i get to the install screen it says it does not support. Another member here suggested I actually use an older driver (185.5) and I was able to download it and tried to install.
However, I still get this message:
Setup detected that the operating system in use is not Windows 7 (32bit). This setup program and the drivers are designed to only work on Windows 7 (32bit). The installation will be terminated
I have Windows 7...when I go to my Nvidia controll pannel it says as much:
Display:
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU T6600 @ 2.20GHz (2200 MHz)
Operating System: Windows 7 Home Premium, 32-bit
DirectX version: 10.0
GPU processor: GeForce 8200M G
Driver version: 186.14
Stream processors: 8
Core clock: 400 MHz
Shader clock: 800 MHz
Memory clock: 1600 MHz (3200 MHz data rate)
Memory interface: 128-bit
Total available graphics memory: 1663 MB

System video memory: 64 MB
Shared system memory: 1343 MB
Video BIOS version: 62.79.4A.00.00
IRQ: 22

So...what do I need to do to get my COH running on my new computer? Or, am I just out of luck?
