  1. Yeah. I got the gist of that when i tried to run the TPN trial... Spent most of it running back from the hospital. :-(

  2. Off. Thanks for the correction.

Of course, that is one of the many reasons my original build is so bad...

  3. First, thank you for looking and suggesting ideas. But I fear that this is not where I was trying to go with this build:

    1) Your build over mine loses ~6% global damage (10% vs. 16%) and ~6.5% Recovery (11.5% vs. 17%).

Is this mitigated by the perma AM?

    2) My build is a fairly aggressive build; it depends on the synergy between Hot Fee and Choking Cloud. That means it needs to be in melee for most effectiveness -- hence my choice of combat jumping vs. hover.

Again, thank you for reviewing my build and offering advice!

Now, my advice for this would be pick and choose your toggle, rather than try to run them all at once.
If you are an incarnate, grab Cardiac Core for 75% res and 2.49% end per sec with 3.75 end per sec going in. Or Musculare radical for buffs to def debuffs, slows, all the stuff you need and 4.04 end per sec going in, compared to 3.2 end a sec going out. I also suggest grabbing ageless destiny.

Combat jumping, I would suggest dropping for Hover and using it to dive in when needed, but give you the option to hover away if need be and rely on ranged def.

    Tell me what you think.
  4. The following is a Fire / Rad Controller I have run with Hyperstrike's Monday night group. As that group tends to be 6+ FRads, design efficiency is pretty much not needed. On top of that, the group's skill level is such that even if FRad didn't get us through the evening, our team-mates did. That said, this is a "design" -- and I use the term loosely -- that was produced by leveling up quickly and then sort of mashing stuff around...

All the sets you see are currently on the character, and I have a full set of "Will of the Controller" that I am also trying to figure out how to place. I have 1 - 2 other purples as singles which I will eventually "set out" and place, so suggesting purple sets is fine. I do not have any HO's and have never been on Hamidon raids, so it would take me weeks or months to acquire them.

In terms of build goals, I think Recharge rate and Damage are equally important, but I don't want the character to drop her toggles due to lack of End... Other than that, I do not have immediate goals. I will say I have no interest in Vengeance+Fallout, and I shy away from Mutation as I avoid taking powers that rely on an ally dying...

    Thanks for any help!

  5. Hyperstrike,

You going to be around tonight?

    Any others of you, FRads?

That's fine! There are other groups looking to do this same thing on other servers.

Here's a link to the group which is going to be running on Liberty.

What about if Monday night or 9 PM isn't good for me?

Well, we're now running another day on Friday evenings starting at 7 PM Eastern. Details can be found here!

  9. Do you think it is a consideration along these lines:

It is content in the game, and I pay the same $15/month everyone else does -- why can't I experience purple IO sets?

(When I say *I*, above, I am not referencing me, specifically.)

Along those same lines, we get into power proliferation, and villain archetypes ported hero-side/hero archetypes ported villain-side.

Hopefully this doesn't come across as trolling -- I am just trying to add to the discussion.

    Thanks.
  10. So we kicked Marauder's butt a few times last night (but not before he kicked mine at least once...), and then we moved on to face Northstar... Being knocked off a roof top tends to add a bit more excitement to the evening, especially when trying to defeat a +3 AV... After a couple of attempts at regrouping, we finally showed Northstar the error of her ways...
  11. No pictures? :-)

Sorry I missed last Monday, I am *really* hoping to make it tonight.

  15. Sorry? I am so glad you run these! They are so fun!

I am just sorry we didn't take a screen shot for you!

I think last night was the first night where we ever team-wiped. What were we running on -- +2/x8?

I did discover after the only wipe that leading with Radiation Infection pretty much guaranteed a wiped spawn (something I hadn't always been doing since we normally moved so quickly). It was definitely cool wiping out level 52 spawns at level 36 - 37... (Yeah, I was "SK'd" up to 48 or 49, but STILL...)

    Thanks again!

  16. Wyldhunt,

I just wanted to say thanks for sharing all of this with us. Both the RP and the mechanics make for a good read, and your writing skills keep things smooth and even. Please keep up the good work.

    Thanks!
  17. Moonbeam would seem to be the single most damaging attack in the Dark Blast arsenal. Obviously use of the previously mentioned combos are preferred, but what do you use in Moonbeam's place?

(just looking for my own build advice, now)

    Storm/? For Solo

Shade of Storms (Protector) is currently level 42, almost 43. I mostly play her with the same group of friends, so the leveling has slowed a bit. But when I first started her, she leveled really fast, with few trips to the hospital. And the self-heal/blast really made a difference in later levels. Now if I ever get around to slotting her efficiently and adding IOs... ;-)

The synergies here are just oozing. <---hmm maybe not the best choice of words.

  19. Neither my Storm / Dark Defender nor my Dark / Storm Corruptor have hit 50, yet, but the Defender is at level 42... So that is where I am coming from. An interesting tactic I use is to Gale an opponent away from me, and then use Moonbeam while he is trying to stand back up. The timing is perfect on that combo. Air Superiority will also work for this tactic, but Gale puts them at range.

I am sure there are some other tactics I've used -- I'll update if I think of anything not already used ni this thread.

    Good luck!
  20. Many thanks to Hyperstrike for organizing/running this. I really appreciate it.
  21. My first 50 was a Grav / Storm. It doesn't get much play time these days, but most of my IRL buddies moved on, so she doesn't have many with whom to play. She is definitely a blast, however. One of the funnest things that happened -- with her -- was a near party wipe on a PuG. By the time I was able to do anything, there were two of us left standing. I huricaned up, and started tossing chaos. The only other still up jumped in my hurricane with me, and we kept three +1 groups at bay, picking them off a little at a time, until the other team mates could rez themselves. It was much awesomeness. :-)

I also have a Bots / Storm MM, she is currently level 39. She is part of a group with IRL friends, and we only play about once every 2 weeks. But there is definite chaos with the Bots' knockback and hers. I just have to be careful 'cause I'm playing with a brute...

Illusion/Storm is definitely wild. A Bot/Storm Mastermind is probably sort of comparable although I guess they can still pick up cage powers in their APPs and have control over the pets themselves.
  22. I played Hot.Stuff. I got started a bit late, but it was definitely a blast.

    Thanks!

  23. Sorry if this is a dense question, but what is "TIPs farming"?

    Thanks.
  24. Thanks -- will do!

  25. I may be able to make Mondays again, in a week or two. Currently I am hauling kids around between 7:45 and 8:00 PM CDT, which means I am always too late to join. Theoretically that will change back to 7:30, sometime soon, which means I might be able to make 8 PM.

I really enjoyed the hand full of runs I got to do with you guys -- was a total blast.
