  1. I agree that the buffing would need to be worked, but overall, I love this idea.
  2. While it'd be too late to make it this summer, I'd like to still propose the idea of a summer event in Pocket D, and what says "summer" like a sunny beach?
I imagine a portal for Pocket D leading to mini beach zone (Maybe have it like the Skii chalet where it's a large beach just floating in the middle of the shard.) where heroes and villains can soak up rays, have the water be divable with all kinds of neat things to find and most important off all:
Water Guns and Water balloon temp powers to soak each other with.
  3. So? Hasn't stopped us from making power suggestions before.
    Also, /signed
  4. I like this, but I'd like something other than Flame thrower.
And indeed, perhaps the strength of this set would be knockdown/knockback and lots of AoEs, but it's weakness could in turn be just weak attacks.
Also, AoEs can be small if you're using small enough explosives.

On a closing note: "Oh, they're going to have to glue you back together, IN HELL!"
  5. Malta Gunslingers would shout "YEEHAW!" everytime they're aggro'd, this would have a ten percent chance of causing other Malta agents to kill the gunslinger.

Private apartments/homes for characters, you would purchase them from Nemesis and would thus own a Nemesis plot.

    Assault Rifle Melee!
  6. /sign, both for for SG base terminals and a Pocket D AE building.
Think about it, it'd be so cool if the AE building itself was separate from the D proper and just floated on a rock outside the D that players jump over to on a Gravity Geyser!
Also, I wouldn't mind the War Zone AE building if the terminals and stuff were at least PART OF THE VANGUARD COMPOUND and not out in the open like that.
  7. I gotta go with everyone else, this seems to have a nice place alongside mission architect and definitely could be used to help us get us out of of some things.

Actually I think he's viewing it from an in-character perspective... and I think he's right.

If I were Liberty Belle or some other All-American heroine I wouldn't want to dishonor the flag by wearing it or letting it get damaged.

I imagine Comrade Rossiskaya and Captain Nippon would feel the same way.

The only people who would wear them are the 'Nationalist' heroes and they'd NEVER wear them for risk of the flag getting damaged or desecrated.

.... and that makes sense to me.

    -Rachel-

Nah, Captain Nippon wears one of those standard banners with the Rising Sun on it, and that thing hardly lasts a single fight anyway, good thing he buys them in bulk.
  9. Well, what kind of changes to the engine would be required? I mean, I was trying to list reasons how it might work and then you got me curious.
I listed that they'd be crafted temp powers with certain summoning limitations that are form shifts that give different powers. Just please, let me know what you mean, this is something that's been in my head for a while and I've been thinking it might have a chance at working. So you know, I'd like to get a few more reasons before letting this thread die.
  10. So lately I've been having this idea for a new set of craftable temp powers for the game, form shift powers that make you into a vehicle, sorry about the trickery, but this is a super mobile idea thread. Before you click the "back" button or something like that, first let me present the realities of it.

What I'm fairly sure we can do:
    -Form shift powers (Kheldians)
-Bonuses that adjust with ATs (Certain IO enhancement bonuses)
-Crafted Temp Powers (St. Louise Slugger, Revolver, etc. etc.)
-Have all the vehicles completely enclosed with opaque windows, for the sake of the Devs sanity. (At that point, it becomes up to you how your 9 foot brute just got into that tiny sedan)

What I'm not sure we can do:
-Land vehicle geometry adjustment. (I've seen the cars go uphills of varying degrees, but they're always moving in a straight line with now variation.)
-Actually make this, but I'm more just trying to present a possibility.
-Have powers prevent you from going into doors until you turn them off, enlarge your "character bubble", or automatically shut off in water.
-Distinguish between indoor and outdoor instanced maps.

Now here are some ideas on what vehicles can and cannot do.
-Vehicles would be form shift temp powers that come in variety of recipes, each would craft a different vehicle with it's own look and sometimes unique powers, there'd be two types; VTOL and Car.

-Vehicles temp powers, when activated, would lock you from your normal powers but grant you new ones, depending on the vehicle you picked.

-You would not be able to go through any doors while in Vehicle Form until you deactivated the power nor would you be able to summon them on indoor instances or in PVP zones

-Vehicles would not be faster than Super Speed or Flight at level fourteen and their movement rates are static with no growth.

-You cannot take Car type Vehicles into water. (I would like to see them explode and end your form shift, with no damage, the explosion is mostly for dramatic effect)

Things I'm not sure on how it would work:

-Accessibility. (Should there be a specific level you can start crafting these at, should you need to do a mission arc for them?)

-Recipes need salvage. (Should normal salvage be used, or a special salvage like Vanguard Merits?)

-"Mommy, Daddy, where do recipes come from?" (Should only specific enemies give out the recipes, should they only be purchasable through the merit vendors or purchased from NPCs period? Or all of the above?)

Before this post gets too long, I'll let you guys tell me what you think.
  11. I play mostly blueside, I have NEVER gotten a villain anywhere nearly this high so I have just one thing to say about this suggestion: /SIGN'D!
  12. Did you HAVE to run it through the photoshop filter?

  14. Man, if they DO allow for GMs in MA I totally want to make a mission where the team hijacks a Kronos class Titan to go against Hamidon or Jurassik.
  15. Okay, but I mean BAD END as in, the only way to continue or finish the arc is for your team to run out of time/be defeated by the enemy who'd be WAY too strong to fight. (See your Hamidon example)

    4. Custom factions?

    [/ QUOTE ]

4, no custom factions I'm afraid. Seems that some powers and their animations are unique to a particular faction. The Fir Bolg were cited as an example. Seems their power animations had to be done specifically to look good with their elongated skeletons. Thus trying to paste their powers onto a bunch of 5 year olds would look unacceptably odd.

    [/ QUOTE ]
So I can only rename enemies, I cannot give Tsoo Nemesis guns?
(Apologize for the redundancy, but I'm just in a slight state of shock. But on the other hand, perhaps I might be able to circumvent these issues...)

[/ QUOTE ]As I understand it that is correct. However I don't see why we couldn't use weapon customization in the critter creator for factions that normally use weapons like the council.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Yeah, that's what I have been considering. So there will be weapon customization for enemies and the weapons they use? If so, will we have to have actually gotten the badge required to unlock them?

Also, is it possible to make a mission where failure is the only option?
The occasional true BAD END, with your character actually being defeated and everything (instead of just being told "oh you kicked their butts but they still won").

  18. The first thing I thought when I saw this was "AWESOME!"
The second thing was "It's not going to be so funny when the Devs turn it into a GM and have it run amok in your base."
The third thought was: "GENTLEMEN BEHOLD! I GIVE YOU: THIS THING!"
  19. Seconding, thirding, forthing, fifthing, sixthing, etc. etc. EVERYTHING in this thread.
    Also I'd like to see:
Mission Architect terminals for SG bases (since it's supposed to be like an arcade thing)
Arena Terminals for SG bases. (Probably mentioned already, but just to be sure.)
    Folding screens.
Thin Shojin screen walls that can be set up in a room.
Hot springs. Yes, freaking hot springs in a base. Because I want my katana scrapper to become an inn keeper.
  20. "What now?! Well Lord Recluse can wait! I'm in a quest on WoW right now! Gah! Dammit my mage!"
  21. Wait till she starts learning mythology from things like the Fir Bolg or Dannan.
  22. Well, I think a nice way to solve the contacts thing is to keep with the first two contacts (After all, the Arachnos pilot in break works for, guess who? ARACHNOS! There seems to be little reason why he would give you a chance to speak with Burke. Maybe he was bribed or something.) but upon completing their arcs you are given a choice of three new contacts. (From Kalida I imagine Mongoose, some guy who deals with the infected, and another Arachnos contact. From Burke I'm thinking his already existing one, a semi-crooked Longbow agent who's been contracting villains to cripple Arachnos, and someone who's kind of small time and sends you to mess up with R.I.P. and other lower villain organizations on Mercy, you'd also get lots of bank jobs.)
  23. I would like to say that as much sympathy as this story gave me, I immediately lost most of it when my blaster kept getting swarmed by Clockwork in Faultline and during a safeguard mission.
The whole time I kept thinking "Penelope! Call off your boyfriend!"

Also, this has left me with ideas for if the Clockwork King was able to re affix himself to new and better built body. I've spent at least an hour playing with the character generator to come up with something, ashamed there's no mono-eye option among the full helmet detail 2 selection.

    Moon Hazard Zone

Will heroes like myself (who don't use travel powers and are just fast thanks to other abilities) get a slow penalty or would we be fine?
Also I loved the monolith badge idea.
I'd almost want to request the Task force be named Operation: Moon Raker, but I don't think anyone would appreciate that.
