If you were playing a melee at without help (of a defender, controller or corruptor), the granite brutes were just very bad or very unwise. Anybody can kill a bad or unwise player, newermind his sets. The only - and rare - times were my granite brute was killed in a melee duel, it was because of an unwise (or very bad) play.
Besides, it's really really hard to find volunteers to duel in melee against a stone brute (or tank).

Actually the Brute I fought was one of the best players I know. Also, it was just me versus him, on my Energy Melee/Electric Armour Brute. No help from any other AT.

2. Not entirely... /Stone has granite, which has extremely strong resistances against all but psi. And with a kin corrupt, the -speed and -rech aren't really painful (without, it's a kind of challenge to play pvp in granite or rooted, using and abusing TK and TP ).

Granite Armour's resistances aren't that immense, really. At least not for a godmode power. 37,5% unslotted according to Mids'. But, coupled with the 15% unslotted defence, it's quite nice.

But that doesn't change that Stone Armour is a defence set, not a resistance one. There are more defence powers than resistance powers.

I recommend Energy Melee/Electric Armour, because both sets are easy to play, it's a powerful combination, and combined with a Corruptor, you are unstoppable.

But honestly Zaldor, D is pretty good at 1v1 Arena. I could barely defeat him on my fully IO'd Em/Elec Brute. Then again, he could only barely defeat me in the end it was 1-1.

A Shivan counts as soloing in my eyes. I used one on my Brute against Luminary, though he died after he fired off two or three attacks.

I myself haven't soloed AV's/Heroes yet, but my currently level 26 Necromancy/Dark Miasma Mastermind Anacronus has soloed every EB the game has thrown at him.

Would someone either direct me somewhere I can find them, or post screenshots of the pets all upgraded for me?

Anyways, you got fury and you do S/NRG damage... I got 46%'ish res to S/L and about 20% to NRG. You have a slight advantage there with EM doing more dmg/hit even out of resistances.
